  1. I ban people who file fradulent cc disputes from my events. I'd be surprised if cruise lines didn't also do that once the refunds got over a certain amount.
  2. Ours makes everyone be at least 50! Very annoying though it does mean our kids can come live with us which does have its advantages. 🤣
  3. This is why my mom decided not to take a cruise to the Galapagos at that time. She was afraid of being stuck in Ecuador for months until she finally tested negative (which was the rule at the time).
  4. The last time Princess had a sale on excursions, some of mine were the same price but some were lower. So I canceled and rebooked them. And never got a credit to my CC or saw the difference in OBC. So now I have to make a phone call and I hate making phone calls.
  5. I don't think they are combining them as in a cruise on one line counts for loyalty on every line. But instead honoring the highest loyalty level you have on one of their lines when you sail on others. At least that's how I read the announcement.
  6. And not just that child. What a stupid, unfunny joke. For pronouns, some of my friends who are non-binary/trans have a pin with their pronouns (i.e., she/they) for interacting with people who don't know them and it seems to work well.
  7. Aren't the gratuities bundled into the cruise fare itself for Australia and NZ?
  8. There are a number of websites. I use iCruse.com the most. They also try to sell me cruises but I ignore that. 😄
  9. The pools I swim in now use salt water instead of chlorine. (They aren't salty like ocean water so you don't taste salt.)
  10. I booked a balcony cabin 18 months out and the fare has dropped 3 times since then. I think it's even lower this weekend but there aren't any cabins available in our section at that price so I haven't been able to verify. I get alerts when the fares change and my cruise has had many times when the price for a certain cabin category went up or down. It happens about once a week, in fact. That was only for people who booked within a certain period though.
  11. Translation: Except if everyone parties and all of a sudden you have a big bill.
  12. That's the company line but I was able to make dining reservations before the final payment a couple of months ago. Of course, Princess is changing how dining works and canceled all our reservations so who knows if I'll be able to make them again on June 14th (17th? I can't remember.) Anyway, there is no way I'm paying for my cruise early just to make dining reservations. YMMV.
  13. If they did it on purpose, then *everyone* would get charged but most people aren't charged. And sometimes it tries to charge people but if they come back and try again a week later, they aren't charged. It's clearly a glitch which given that Princess outsources the development of their app and that data is coming from multiple systems, doesn't surprise me at all. I've been in IT since before it was even called that (45+ years) and I've seen this happen with many companies. (Don't get me started on IT at PG&E.)
  14. You shouldn't have to clear your history. It's just a list of URLs after all. The main thing that keeps pages from working properly are the cookies that are left behind. Clearing them is also a pain but sometimes you just have to do it. Sometimes you have to clear other things too -- Chrome has a setting to clear "images and other site data" and that other data also can cause problems. The rest of the stuff should be fine to leave as is.
  15. Scammed but in a way that you aren't out anything, thank goodness. At least so far. It's possible they sent you an email with the hotel voucher info and it went to your spam folder or the info will come via snail mail. I don't think this deal ever shows up in the Personalizer because it's through the ONE company and not through Princess. But I could be wrong about that.
  16. This thread seems to be getting acrimonious which means it will be locked soon but before it is, I am hoping @cruzsnooze comes back and explains where $10/day for crew appreciation comes from. I am dying to know. Why $10? Why not $9 or $12 or some other number? There has to be a reason and I am interested in the logic behind it and if this is pp or per cabin. (And not about arguing whether reducing CA is okay.)
  17. I got my photo done at Staples. No appointment needed. 😄
  18. I am well aware. I am also aware that I was able to book dining for my Jan 25 cruise which has not been paid off and is my first cruise with Princess (so not even close to Platinum or Elite). 😄 It shouldn't have happened but it did and I wasn't the only one. And if it happened once, it can happen again! 🤣
  19. The same happened to me. Someone on CC said there was a temporary glitch at one point that let people do that. I am really hoping that this "glitch" remains when they re-open dining reservations next month. 😄
  20. It's $5 / day cheaper. Prices assume you aren't Elite: 1-device: $24.99 4-device: $44.99 Hope that helps.
  21. Since you can't have marijuana on the ship, where would someone get the weed to smoke? (Or gummies to eat)
  22. Common sense? I mean reading that food isn't included on a cruise, I wouldn't just say "Oh, no, I didn't know that." I would assume the poster was confused. I've learned a lot from these boards and I think lots of people can say the same.
  23. That was our family tradition too! And I read anything I could get my hands on. Including the cereal box. 😄
  24. The consensus is that the late dining will be at 7:30 but I've seen guesses of 5:00 and 5:30 for the early seating. I hope it's 5:30!
