  1. $24 up charge for chicken parm and a caeser salad... 😒
  2. Oh interesting. I thought it was $15 every time you ordered.
  3. We like what we hear about Princess for those reasons. Calm, quiet, good food, beautiful scenery. Haven't cruised before so we don't know what kind of entertainment would really appeal to us. We aren't big drinkers but enjoy something now and then so we like how Princess Plus includes a drink package. And I believe Princess has room service available for a cover charge, vs the terrible ala carte system Carnival has.
  4. Howdy. I saw some good rates for 14 day Caribbean cruises with Princess and that has me intrigued. I have my first ever cruise to Mexico on Carnival and if wife and I enjoy it we might try a longer Carribean for our 25th. I know nothing of Princess or the Carribean either, so I'm eager for any and all advice on the matter. I'm pouring over the search feature but it's a lot of reading. We are interesting in Eastern and Southern as we hear it's overall nicer. Any ship recommendations, time of year, ports that are a must. Thank you everyone!
  5. I'm already sweating an 1130 flight home, can't imagine the stress of a 940.
  6. Off topic but why did you select HAL for the next two? I'm curious because it is the line I hear mentioned the least.
  7. Understood, but that's also how boards get stale and die. There are only so many topics to talk about.
  8. As a bad blackjack player can you explain this one to me? Is it because they are taking too long or taking too much of the dealer's attention, or just because they are annoying.
  9. I work with a gentleman that never bathes or washes his clothes...I guess it takes all types to make the world go around. Glad you had a good sail anyway.
  10. If they have any branding on them then yes. Or if they are nice. Or if I need a towel at home. So what I'm saying is yeah, they do. 😊
  11. Hi, we are sailing the Panorama in March and will be flying in/out of Long Beach via Southwest Airlines. Ship is supposed to dock at 9:00 and our flight out is 11:30 (the only nonstop flight available that day). Long Beach airport is at least close to the cruise terminal but with potential for the boat to be late docking and stories of travelers unable to get Uber/Lyft to actually pick them up from the terminal...well, are we setting ourselves up for failure? Another question, this is our first cruise and I'm curious when it comes to disembarking how should we go about making it as quick and painless as possible so that doesn't slow us down? Thanks!
  12. In the videos I've seen online they were dark at night unless the staff leaves the work lights on...where exactly was all the light on your balcony coming from? I have one in March.
  13. Now I'm confused, I was led to believe that Mongolian Wok was what lunch at JiJi's was called...so what the heck is Mongolian Wok???
  14. This is what I've heard from a few crew, there is no leeway for fraternizing with passengers. They frown on crew-on-crew as well, but there really isn't much they can do about it, so as long as crew aren't flaunting their behavior openly there isn't an issue.
  15. True...but then McD's doesn't showcase food in their advertising that they don't even have on the menu.
  16. I imagine the formula is "based on this person's behavior what is the absolute least I can comp them and still get them on another one of my cruises". I say this because we often hear a variation of "my deal sucked, but I still have another cruise booked with them and will decide after that..." Leads me to suspect Carnival knows they have the hook firmly set already and can take it easy reeling in the fish. That said, I don't know what I'm talking about, so...
  17. I'm taking the Panorama in March. In my very limited experience winter in LA can be anything between 60's and 90's 🤷 But sea days with ocean breeze are supposedly cooler. This is my first cruise and I've never been to Mexico I'll wait for you to come back and tell me how the weather was.
  18. Overall do you think the food is actually kind of bad, or is it that it isn't making it to the tables before it cools/dries out/goes soggy, etc? Because when I see photos and reviews the food looks like it started out good but it's been under a heat lamp for 15 minutes before being served.
  19. Maybe, I can't tell. But here in Utah lobster isn't on the menu most places and when it is it is universally terrible, so what do I know.
  20. Everything "looks" good at least. Even the lobster looks ok, but not great, probably not worth an upcharge. That steak looks good to me. 😋
  21. But that's how a buffet is supposed to work. Sounds like Venezia is functioning as a cafeteria instead. It should be a simple thing for Carnival to address if they wanted to.
  22. That is the week we decided on as well. Fingers crossed the spring break crowds aren't too bad. I'm sure my daughter might appreciate more people her age but me, not so much.
  23. I've been saying the same thing about the RV industry...prices are insane, value is non-existent, and yet they keep selling just fine. 🤷
