  1. Have a ball JP. You’re doing several of the bits I had to save for next time.
  2. Unfortunately, the onboard wine list is kept behind the Unicorns, guarded by Cerberus and is written in Elven Runes. If you are extremely, extremely friendly with a sommelier then you may catch a clandestine glimpse of the Excel spreadsheet that “doesn’t exist” either.
  3. I’ve no first hand knowledge, I was merely asking the question after reading others responses that imply that there is little or no protection. Did the people that you know that have received over two years salary receive those benefits because of a legal entitlement? Just curious.
  4. Hi Lois, I had been following along but things got a bit crazy here as my partner opened his second store last week. I’m not sure I’d enjoy a more traditional x ship either. I Think most of the appeal to me was in the ship being less traditional. It was quite a vibrant feel to it. My next adventure is on Az whilst I still can’t find a single SS cruise that appeals and is less than 100% supplement. Hopefully your cough has cleared up now. DWxxx
  5. Thank you for taking us along with you Lois. Whilst I loved my first trip on Celebrity in January on the Edge, I Think I enjoyed it so much because it was bit more “Edgy” and different to the other, more traditional, ships within the line. I Was never tempted by their more traditional ships. I Know you haven’t sailed Edge class but maybe some of the other posters could either confirm or deny whether my opinion is misplaced? As for “traygate”, I wouldn’t dream of leaving it in a corridor. See you back on the other side.
  6. Aye Aye Jazz, that was the one that it wasn’t! https://www.fairmontresort.com.au
  7. I Wish I’d have known this before I went tight. 😁 An invaluable cultural assessment.
  8. Don’t start me on Vikings policies!
  9. Are you familiar with the tale of the famous Liver birds, Bertie and Bella? They watch over both the sea and the city and are reputed to flap their wings every time a Virgin walks past them.
  10. I Thought that was only required on Virgin? 🥳
  11. In fairness, they probably mistook it for your formal outfit given the recent dress code changes!
  12. The producer (AJ Hoadley) seems to have quite a sense of humour not found elsewhere within oenology. The Ye-Ye Grise was just superb and whilst not in any way pretentious or French, it pushed every button for me.
  13. I'm Happy to pay for an extra suitcase drron! Have you tried it?
  14. It all seems very disjointed. What if you have xx points on x and take xx cruises on R then spend a couple of weeks on SS? I Can’t fathom it. Surely this is an interim measure? If that’s the route they want to take, surely they would equate all points and award accordingly in an integrated scheme, Not accumulate individually and cheat SS passengers so blatantly? Unless of course they have some misguided view that SS passengers are so loyal that they aren’t clever enough to realise that they are being fleeced.
  15. Have an amazing time both and if you happen to see the Ye-Ye la Violetta Grise anywhere snap it up, you’ll love it JP. I Regret not bringing some home thinking I’d find some back here. There’s not a single bottle on sale in the UK!
  16. Be careful over there Lois, they have been known to bite 🙂
  17. Unfortunately not. Currently the TA is trying to sort it out but they seem to be banging their head against a very thick wall.
  18. Welcome back M. Reality is a place best kept at arms length. We’ve missed you and whilst feeling sad that your incredible adventure has drawn to a conclusion, I Can’t wait for you next one! Much love to you both xxx
  19. Amex do seem to have gone a little more feral with the percentage that they are charging recently. Enjoy the benefits whilst you can before nobody accepts them anymore.
  20. Have a wonderful time Lois. Looking forward to hearing all about it. xxx
  21. Thank you Host JB for your insight. Unfortunately for somebody that has one “vacation” a year that is planned out to the minute, this is unnerving me. My Autism doesn’t let me rest until things are settled and the stock response of “you can sort that out once onboard’” leaves me unable to sleep at night. I’ve invested hundreds of hours research into this trip. I’ve researched the best Safari lodges to visit before joining the tour, I’m ready to push the button on Emirates first class flights. My partner is set to fly out to meet me for a couple of nights at the Burj al Arab on my way home and the 3 furbaby sitters are ready to be confirmed. This isn’t just a holiday. One thing that I just can’t cope with is dishonesty. Incompetence is manageable but outright dishonesty rattles me to the end.
  22. I Appreciate that Blag, thank you for your contribution. Thanks Host JB. As you may remember I took a cruise on X this past January and had none of these problems. I Was able to upgrade everything seamlessly through their website. I Booked excursions, speciality dining package, upgraded my drinks package and wifi and pre-paid for several bags of laundry without a single glitch and received everything that I paid for. MyTA informed me this time that excursions and any onboard extras needed to booked via Azamaras' website. If I shouldn't be amending or adding extras to my Azamara booking directly rather than going through my TA then why do Az grant me access to the "manage my booking" section of their website as directed (that does appears to run best on Windows 95) that does nothing than add utter confusion to the situation? I've been switched from an extremely eager guest that can't wait to try the line to someone that wonders if they can't run a website, what will the cruise be like.
