Deployment 2025-26 booking season begins
Twenty2020 replied to SummmerInKefalonia's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yeah we have one cruise booked for Apr 2025 that was what I consider a reasonable group rate.... And then we are likely done with RCCL. Looking at other lines or possibly non cruise vacations in general until some semblance of value returns. -
Icon pricing off the chain.,

Those are simply the left over group rates from the launch dates. There are still a handful of them left. But non-existent (that cheap) for anything after April 2025. A couple of weeks ago could have booked OV balcony for Sep24 and April25 for $2800. Now gone and rates are $6-7k. We're definitely not looking at booking any further cruises. I can do a lot better trips for $1k/night base costs. -

Yeah I see there are some amenities here and there that are different. But the overall structure and layout of the ship is a lot more like an Oasis class ship than not. People are making it out to be more than it is. Seems to me this is closer of when RCI went from Voyager class --> Freedom class.... Rather than say, Freedom class --> Oasis class -

Yes there were group rates on Icon that were still 'normal'... Even as of a few weeks ago when I looked there were some available into next year. But they are getting picked off quickly and once they are gone, well there is nothing like them going forward. Nothing close. Think double what you paid going forward. I don't think there are any past April 2025. After that everyone is SOL. Looking at next year you could probably book a true luxury line cruise for comparable $ as Icon/Star. -
All the land based JRs in our area have long closed. Voyager ripped theirs out and replaced it with.... Nothing. And called it amplified. Lol.

Just me or prices look just as brutal as ever? Not seeing any group rates at this point either that are appealing. $3500 balconies on Brilliance for NE/Canada. Yikes. -

Time will tell.... There are 2800 cabins on Icon...x52 weeks. That's nearly 150k cabin sales per year. Are there that many people out there that will pay $1k/night? Then you have Star coming next year that will double that capacity. Definitely a lot of cruise ship capacity coming online in the next year or so. -
Icon not worth current prices

I've seen as low as $2800 on a few dates... But they are getting picked off fairly quickly. And when gone, don't expect to see anything close to that going forward. Edit: as I said that... I went and looked and those appear to be all gone.. Now you can enjoy your $6500 balcony. Lol -
To get a equal comparison of AIs to Royal (or any cruise)... You would need to include costs like deluxe beverage package, unlimited dining package, WiFi, gratuities, etc.... I've done the comparisons too and no cruising is not cheaper. Because of the add on fees everywhere you turn. It's maybe close to equivalent to a mid tier all inclusive. You can of course make it cheaper by just not buying any of that and take what's included. But that's not an apples to apples comparison.

I'm sure it is. I think this was just for people in impacted cabins for this most recent cruise, and maybe the one that left yesterday. Sounds like rest of the ship is totally fine.

There are still deals out there. Example 7 nights on Wonder OV balcony April 2025 $2563 total.

Recent Independence Of The Seas cruisers ( 5 nighter..)
Twenty2020 replied to big al's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I believe lobster nights are only on 7+ day cruises. No (free) lobster on 5 nighter. -
If you're not going for a while.... Sounds like you want to be in a cabin that got flooded as you'll get brand new carpet! Lol

Damage from this storm seems fairly extensive in a lot of starboard side cabins. Royal is offering full free refunds and FCC to a number of people on upcoming cruises. Reports from onboard indicate a lot of work and problem cabin conditions ongoing.

What is your favorite class of RCCL ship?
Twenty2020 replied to 95south's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Oasis (and Icon)...the cruise ship if you don't like cruising. Royal should put that in their marketing. -
Harmony's Escape Room has escaped

Probably a prime spot for more cabins during the next amplification! -
At this point, what's a reasonable rate? Icon

Yep. I actually am seeing some of those as well still available into spring of 2025. Great score. -

I checked mine and while it shows those rates on the initial search, when I go to book it defaults back to current rates. Maybe something off with my site. -

That's something you can actually book today? Going rates are more than double that. -
