  1. It must have been docked in a different place. There was NOTHING around us other that the Sky Princess (our next cruise) and the Silhouette (Our cruise after that. 😜). No public transportation anywhere. Maybe that’s the trigger.
  2. And I am only sharing my experience with Copenhagen. In the other ports we were picked up by our tour guide so I don't have experience there.
  3. I think you can pay for a private shuttle if you want but there were buses sitting outside the gate with a sign saying "Free Shuttle" and they left every 20 minutes or so.
  4. I disagree. We were just on the Apex in July and stopped in Copenhagen. There was no fee for the shuttle from ship to city center and back. I'm baffled at these other responses as they have been charged a fee. Must be a very recent change.
  5. Small bag for dirty laundry with a long cord. I hang it from a hanger in the closet. Keeps all the dirty clothes contained. Can always just put it in the suitcase under the bed but this seems to work even better.
  6. My concern with Princess is that their service isn’t top notch. I always feel that it’s “ good enough” but not the best. Now they are adding the Signature Series. If they can’t deliver good quality on their ships now, how will they deliver extra special service on the Sun? Celebrity treats their Retreat guests like royalty and I love it. Taking one last chance with Princess but I just don’t see them succeeding. Thoughts?
  7. Looking forward to my tour of Warnemude and Rostock and a nearly empty ship while I wait for all the tired folks that went to Berlin to return. Thanks for this thread. Leave in 2.5 weeks for the same!
  8. There was a question on our roll call as to whether you would be able to see the fireworks from the ship? We overnight on the 4th but the fireworks are pretty late for some.
  9. Question for you in the iconic suite. You have free dinner for all specialty restaurants, correct? Does that also apply for lunches?
  10. I’m not really sure of the point of your post. Good for you that you can afford the iconic suite outright. WAY too much for me (and I don’t skimp on spending money).
  11. Currently in a Sunset Sky Suite on the Apex sailing on June 25th. The move up offers are really good since there are still a lot of cabins available. So we went ahead and put one in at the lowest value for the Iconic Suite. What is the reality that it will accepted? There is still one available so we aren’t waiting for a last minute cancellation. Would they upgrade someone in an upper suite over us? Not sure how they select the winning bid.
  12. And you will have some idea before you pack. You can check forecasts online. While not 100% accurate, it will give some guidance as to whether it’s a heat wave or mostly rainy.
  13. You are clearly upset about a minor detail of your vacation. I’m hoping I’m not on the same ship as you or don’t cross your path in general.
  14. I get it. But for me I don’t rate quality on price. The money, to me, is not a factor over what I want.
  15. They look very enclosed. The videos I saw had windows port or aft but it could have been the deck they were on. Our Sky suite balcony was very open and like any other regular balcony. All that orange around me would totally turn me off. Maybe your cabin is okay. I would look for it on YouTube to know what you are getting. I have not watched one video that would make me want to be in that cabin.
  16. Why not just get a Sky Suite on the Port side? I would never get a Magic Carpet Sky Suite as it's a totally different balcony experience and balconies matter to me.
  17. There were 9 of us on the Apex back in March. We tried a different bar for pre-dinner cocktails every night and I recommend Martini Bar. The "show" is loud but only a few minutes long and the other music is not too bad for conversation. I am a bar person and don't like sitting at one of the tables for wait service as they are usually slow and don't get the drink order right, especially for such a large group. Celebrity proved me wrong!! They were fast, attentive, got all 9 (different) drinks correct and were back for our next round in a timely manner. Why I love Celebrity so much. Eden bar was not good for such a large group because you end up being a distraction for the performer if you want to talk among yourself. And Craft Social is really more of a beer place. They were overwhelmed by 9 different cocktails in one order.
  18. I’m not sure I understand. Are you saying you are just doing a cruise this year and just doing a land tour next summer? Someone can correct me, but I don’t think you can just do a land tour. It has to be WITH a cruise. You can do a cruise without a land tour but not a land tour without a cruise. Unless I just read that wrong.
  19. I think you are a little confused. Land tours are either before or after the cruise. No “getting back the land tour is a separate package from the cruise. Some people don’t to the land tour and just head home. But yes, the lodges are included in the land tour cost. You get assigned a room when you get there. There is a train that takes you from the ship to the first stop (or to the ship in reverse) but then it’s buses from there. I was very underwhelmed by the land tour (Fairbanks is awful) but something you must do if you are going to Alaska only once. I wouldn’t do it again. But glad I did it.
  20. Afternoon tea is the best. If you can only get half a day, pick the afternoon. As someone who HATES the main pool, I love the sanctuary. But on the Royal class ships it’s very small and usually sells out by the B2Bers before us Elites get onboard. Mostly only Cabanas are left and much more expensive. But they do include a (small) bottle of booze and fruit. I really wish they didn’t have a TV. The is the last thing I want in a quiet secluded place. We were some of the first cruisers on the Discovery and they didn’t have headphones yet. Like I really want to listen to you watching TV! I think that’s been fixed on all ships.
  21. Now it's all I see when I look at the picture! 🤪
  22. And should we not expect them to be sea days like in the Caribbean (Europe to US). Will the weather restrict the main pool activities?
  23. As someone who was on the Star Fire Cruise, I had that thought for a second or two. But the Star was in service for a long time after the event. I was about to finally get back on the Star right as the pandemic hit and am excited to do so again.
