  1. I was taken aback (but not offended) by the “friends of Dorothy” comment. I haven’t seen that in a long time!!
  2. Still good. I’ve brought chips from one ship to another no problem. I got sick at the end of a cruise and didn’t cash them out. Just brought them on my next cruise and started using them. I guarantee you that people will jump on this thread and say that’s not possible but I’m living proof it is.
  3. Have seen them in action in the casino? (Rhetorical question based on your post). It’s very coordinated and monitored. Why do you think the casino has to be involved in Bingo.
  4. Absolutely not! They will want you to use the casino. Now, if you are discreet and the don’t find out, how would they know?🤫. But if you ask them, they will definitely say no. And it’s also probably illegal. Gaming is highly regulated.
  5. Do you need to make a reservation for hanging out on the net on the bow of the ship (Royal Clipper)? How does that work?
  6. We have never used a TA but did for my husbands 60th in March since we have 6 cabins. There’s no difference once you get onboard right? My travel agent messed up really bad and if I didn’t catch the mistake myself we would have had one less cabin and wouldn’t have realized until final payment. I want to switch back to the company but at this point why bother. It’s fixed and they can’t screw anything else up. I think.
  7. So how did you do it? Talk to Celebrity? Talk to the agent?
  8. I have a GREAT cruise planner with Celebrity (as well as one with Princess). He calls me back right right away and there is no sitting on hold for hours. And to be honest, I had a horrible experience with a bulk purchaser. A so called “weathly cruiser” agency told me that “these are the cabins I have, either take them or don't. I’m not doing extra work for you”. Not the “wealthy” experience I was looking for or willing to pay extra for. I booked this through them because I have a bunch of cabins that I’m paying for myself. I wish I did it myself now.
  9. I hear ya. But after 4 World Series in the last 18 years, I don’t hate the Yankees as much as I used to. 😎
  10. Just had a really bad experience with my travel agent and my booking was almost really messed up. Luckily I caught their mistake and had it corrected. I know that people book with Celebrity sometimes and then move it to a travel agent. But I can do it the other way around? Could the travel agent just delete my booking? Will they charge me a penalty? I never use a TA and would rather deal with my Celebrity Planner who is much more proactive and responsive. (I didn't have a Planner at the time and needed some help.) They didn't give me any special deal or anything like that. It's the straight Celebrity pricing from the website.
  11. I’m glad it works for you. We sleep with one every night. Doesn’t work for my husband.
  12. Yes, our research has confirmed what you have said. But it’s a 1 in 8 chance of getting that “bad” cabin and we don’t want to risk it. It would ruin our vacation. We have a great Sky Suite and can’t wait!
  13. Spoken by someone who doesn’t have a sleeping problem. Trust me, I get it. I tell my husband all the time, just close your eyes and go to sleep. It’s not that easy. A white noise machine will not cover up the noise from the deck above starting at 6am for light sleepers.
  14. Yes, we are talking about the two Celebrity Suites on 9. We would love bid on a Celebrity Suite but wont risk being assigned the ones on deck 9. Other people brought up the "upper suites". (And I would stick with 6131, OP. We've been there and the balcony is great!)
  15. We just got a move up offer for a Celebrity Suite with the maximum bid WAY under what we are willing to pay for it. But the thought of being on Deck 9 made me not take it. LOVE CS on the Summit. But won’t risk it.
  16. I’m on the June 25th Apex cruise. The title of the cruise still says Scandinavia and Russia but if you go into the cruise details they have altered it to exclude St. Petersburg.
  17. Just got word that our cruise in June 2023 has already been shifted to exclude Russia. I’m okay with that.
  18. He was amazing! So many wonderful cruises with him. I know we ALL wish him well in his retirement.
  19. Sorry, we hated it. And this was years ago so it may be different. Since Chef Boulder made dishes for Luminae, they just served us different plates from that menu. When we did it on Princess, the chef may a special amazing dinner just for us. Would never do it gain on Celebrity. But that is only my opinion. You may really like it. I think we were just spoiled on Princess. I think this is one of the three things that Princess does better. Celebrity wins all the others!
  20. I paying for 9 people to join us for my husbands 60th. Was not looking forward to that awkward conversation about telling people that they have to share rooms. Not any longer! I was able to put the single people in single rooms and the couples in their rooms. 6 Sky Suites in a row on the Apex with real balconies!!! Woo hoo!
  21. And T update, it’s even more of a mess. Just closed down stretches of the green and orange lines indefinitely with buses replacing them. Ugh! Take Ubers or cabs. There are plenty of cabs in Boston. So glad I work from home now. Commuted by subway for 25 years and it would be impossible to do right now.
  22. How far is Lunenburg? Having grown up in Lunenburg, MA, it may be fun to go there but not sure it’s worth it.
  23. You could not pay me to cruise in a Sky suite. We abhor the noise of the main pool and never sit there. Add MUTS on top of that and our balcony would be unusable. Our balcony is one of the main reasons we cruise. But that’s what’s great about cruising, everyone likes different things. You’ll find me on the aft for a lot less money and a much better experience (for me).
  24. Unless the last sea day is the last night of the cruise. I don’t think they ever do “Evening Chic” on the last night of a cruise.
  25. Just to clarify. There is no formal night on the cruise tour part. There is the cruise and then the optional land tour after or before. You are on your own for all meals on the land tour. I am assuming you are asking about the cruise part which was answered.
