  1. I think you are fine. Being in a car in Boston is risky but not a boat.
  2. Thanks. Very informative. But I would HATE to go onstage! I’m an extrovert that can quite shy at times. 🤪
  3. Thank you! We have a private tour guide and it too far from where we are going so I’m going to skip it. I like tours that are only 4-5 hours max.
  4. We booked NINE months in advance and seating was limited. So glad I thought to check. Didn’t realize that (a) you could book it that far in advance and (b) that everyone else did and hence it was already selling out.
  5. I had to book 9 people in Eden. The maximum is 8. So I made two reservations hoping we can have the retreat host help us sit them together. But I did have to pay for all of them myself as I made the reservation.
  6. September is the beginning of "shorts and hoodie" weather in New England. But the more north you go the sooner the shorts turn into long pants. But then we could get a "New England Summer in September where it jumps into the 80s. But nights do cool off quickly. Basically, it depends. And it can change day to day. You will need to pack both shorts and jeans, light shirt and sweatshirt, light jacket to rain coat. I think pack like when going to Alaska. Think layers that you can take off and add back. As the saying goes, "If you don't like the weather in New England, wait a few minutes". Especially in the fall.
  7. I saw her on my last cruise! I thought, wow that woman needs a makeover! I didn’t realize she was a character and doing that on purpose! 😂
  8. Thank you! I thought I was following and then I got confused. I would love to find out who is officially joining on the 11th.
  9. Now I’m confused. Was that a typo? You say Rich is on the Apex but you say you board the Summit on the 31st and he leaves with you on the 11th. I’m on the Summit on the 11th so interested.
  10. They usually count the number of passengers when loading the tender. I guess if there was someone extremely large they may just count them as two people. But it would be absurd to tell someone that they are too heavy for a boat that is carrying that many people! As someone said, there are some weight limit for excursions but I would say that that is because the boat is much smaller.
  11. Hello! Really enjoying this thread!! Are the Retreat hosts leaving on the 11th? Would prefer to not have new folks as they are just getting up to speed on the ship and the other personnel. I’ll be fine either way, just curious.
  12. I always thought it was another perk of being Aqua class. I go in there all the time with a book and look at the water. A nice quiet space. But I went and looked at the Aqua class page on the website and it doesn’t mention it. I figure if I respect the quiet tone of the space, I’m okay. There is never anyone in there.
  13. Yeah, I didn't bother looking up the ferry schedule. Or the day they were traveling. Which is why I was a little vague.
  14. First time in New England/Canada for a lot of Cruiselines since the pandemic. They are sailing full.
  15. The cruises aren’t cancelled. They are just full and not able to book. Same thing on the Celebrity with my cruise.
  16. I would NOT go to Cape Cod if you are in Boston for one day. I would almost guarantee that you’ll miss the ship. Man, as a seasoned cruiser and live in Boston, the thought of that gives me the willies. Traffic alone is a reason that you’ll watch the ship head out of port as you sit in a car at “the bridge”. And unless you have the perfect Ptown ferry, you’ll pass the ship as it heads out to sea. Not recommended. And if you were super cautious, then what are you going to see anyway? Not enough time.
  17. Ah yes. I'm off a day. I see two Planners back is the comedian not the most recent one. My bad. Overall, how is the entertainment at night? Enough to do?
  18. I have to say that there doesn’t seem to be a lot listed in the daily activities sheet at night. I’m used to a lot more choices for listening to live music on a Celebrity ship. Are there more things in the app? The comedian wasn’t listed which is why I think that.
  19. Not much comes with it other than a place to store your stuff and get out of the rain or heat. But it’s nice to have your own area. If you don’t get the food package then you walk over to the buffet like everyone else. They do have waiters that come around but if you drink fast you may need to go up to the bar on your own. But if you don’t have the drink package you are paying for drinks just as on the ship. You do get priority tender tickets to get over their sooner. They assign you a cabana and you find out which one when you get over to the beach right off the tender.
  20. Back to the original poster... There is no need to put money on your account before you sail. You will give them a credit card before embarkation and anything you charge to your room (casino or otherwise) will be added to your account. At the end of the cruise they will charge your credit card for our account balance.
  21. I think they are also on weekend schedules all the time now which means longer waits between trains and more people in the cars, especially during rush hour.
  22. No, seriously. The subway system is a complete mess right now. They are shutting parts of it down for a month because it’s so bad. Fires. Crashes. A person died because he was caught in the door and the train kept going! If I still had to go the office every day I am not sure what I would do for a month. But I hear you. In general, we have a good public transit system. Just not right now for the 2022 New England/Canada cruise season.
  23. Not right now it’s not! We are having major issues with our subway system and they are going to shut down one line for 30 days. And our cabs are old and small. Very hard for someone like me to get in and out of. I would suggest Uber or Lyft. Traffic is always bad but if it’s not rush hour it’s okay. The subway system is a mess right now.
