  1. We’re on QM2 now and I am not seeing any issues on Deck 9 or in the public spaces we’ve been in. Yesterday there lots of paint rollers put to use on the railings on the promenade. The wooden lockers on the promenade were being scraped for refinishing. If there were broken chairs in the planetarium they were not marked as such. The shower curtain is brand new and towels are in fine shape. We have a wonderful butler who is making sure we have tomato juice, lemons and limes. Our pre-ordered 2 bottles arrived while we were at dinner on night 1. I’m ready to book another TA for 2024.
  2. @Bigmike911 So glad you finally got all of that decorating done! Send a picture please. I want to see those beautiful baubles. We’re buying the premium wifi package so we’ll see how it works for posting! Thanks for sending good wishes.
  3. @turnip eater On floor 6 bar. I’m wearing a plum colored turtle neck. Hair pulled back, reddish through the help of my colorist. 1st table as you enter.
  4. @Host Hattie To even think that they were going to close down this thread! This is where we really connect. So thankful to all who post here for all the information shared and love of Cunard.
  5. @Camgirl You’ve got her all warmed up for us? One more night…excited to hear about your adventures.
  6. I’ve brought my travel electric hair curlers. Yes, I really do use them rather than a curling wand due to rotator cuff tear. Do you think they’ll confiscate them?
  7. Excellent @turnip eater! We just tried sitting on our deck and is too cold! Drive safely.
  8. We’re negative and at the Harbour Hotel. @D&N and @Host Hattie we took the Elizabeth line yesterday from Greenwich back to London. Fantastic! We avoided the Central line which has been crazy busy. Host Hattie, your trip looks grand! We tried to get to St. Paul’s for Sunday service, but kept missing it. On our next trip it is priority. We have a wonderful dinner at Clos Maggiore last night. I think I have DH convinced to do another TA in 2 years. Prices look good.
  9. @Bigmike911 I thought of you yesterday at Fortnum & Mason. We shipped 2 baskets. So sorry for your loss of a prized tree bobble. Most of ours did not go up this year due to the 2 year old grandson who loves to move them from spot to spot. We just finished dinner at Locondo Locatelli and walked back to Mayfair through serious snow. There is a quarter of an inch on our terrace. My, you did get lots of rain. Remember, they are quarters in your pocket. Our dinners had to be planned prior to departure since we return on the 22nd. My lasagna has been a Christmas Eve tradition since the children were little. Prime Rib is for New Years, although the children are demanding our Chinese New Years Feast. It will happen if they contribute, which sounds like they will. I hope we run into each other someday on-board. Happy Holidays!
  10. London update: St. Martin’s in the field for a family carol singing concert last night that was great fun. A little 2 year old stood in the aisle with his super small violin and bow and conducted and played along. Too cute! Singers were as excellent as anticipated, gotta love John Rutter. 700 santa’s on BMX bikes went by and walked through a demonstration at Trafalgar square. Pub was fun, but could barely get out due to the match. It was a quiet night due to English loss. This morning was Claridge’s for brunch and a trip to Hedonism wines to take on-board. Cold, but dry. I can handle that! @Host Hattie where are you? @ronpes I assume you have snow. @Lanky Lad Glad you can walk to work on Monday. @buchanan101 I like the picture no matter what you say!
  11. I will be interested to see what happens next Thursday when she starts the TA.
  12. The shore side power is huge for the environment. When I would dust, not as frequently as really required, the black soot would cover horizontal surfaces. Since shore side power there is much less. There is a noticeable change in the air quality.
  13. @Host Hattie It is so fun to be communicating in the same time zone! Jet lag is here, so I’ll be turning off the lights soon. Have a good trip to London on Sunday.
  14. @Host Hattie We are having a true pub experience Saturday night, and I can’t imagine how crazy it will be with the game on. It was packed when we returned from our walk. People standing outside with beers.
  15. I keep hearing about shower curtains. Those need to go bye-bye.
  16. @Camgirl Have a great time! Glad you’re getting her in shape for us. @ronpes We walked all around Grosvenor Square park,, wonderful display of white roses in remembrance of cancer, up to Oxford street, tons of people out shopping. Adidas had people packed in front watching the football aka soccer match. Selfridge’s windows are cute and it was packed inside. It was cold, but I was well bundled. One major problem: I decided not to ship a suitcase. Big mistake. We ended up with 4 medium suitcases, the kind you can pack to 50 lbs. although none were over 40, and 2 really really small carry-ones. Wouldn’t fit the Mercedes we ordered. Now I need to do some re-thinking on how to get from London to Southampton on Wednesday. We went to Lucky Cat for dinner and there were lots of sequins and rhinestones. I ❤️ London.
  17. @starquake See you on board! We sail the 15th.
  18. We got a call from Cunard, and an email with the list attached, about 1 month prior to sailing. I gave her our requests and hopefully they’ll be waiting for us next week.
