  1. Not in our cabin, but we loaned the roll to a couple sitting near us at dinner. They had an issue with the drawer in the writing table. I used it to tape a piece of paper to the door to the verandah, “I’m out here.”
  2. Time to talk New Year’s Eve. What’s everybody doing?
  3. I’d throw in a roll of painters tape to make sure drawers stay shut or to hang things, and a couple of magnets to hang schedules.

@TheOldBear We also encountered a bisque issue on our TA a couple of weeks ago in QG. The lobster “bisque” was not a bisque as it had no cream in it. It was a clear brown semi-gelatinous liquid, love those gelatin sheets. The lobster had sunk to the bottom and was a mince. Not a dice, it was minced. I heard another table mention that it wasn’t what they expected and there were three of us who also expressed concerns. The other soup that we questioned was a french onion soup that was creamed and had no floating toast or cheese.
  5. I really struggle with this. We were gone 14 days and went to high end restaurants in London and then QG for the TA. DH had 2 suits and 1 tux. I can’t imagine doing that myself. Yes, he had several shirts, 2 cummerbunds and several ties. What I would call 3 outfits. If you eliminate 1 suit it saves very little room. I ask myself, “what would I do if I had 1 formal gown (for 2 galas) and then 1 basic outfit to wear for all of the other days?” I am struggling to write this. Dress is important and fun to me, and choice when I dress is important to me. Being limited to 1 suit and even several ties would be difficult for me. Fly and cruise is difficult and I will need to improve. Looking back this topic has strayed from the original OP. Please excuse and feel free to move or delete.
  6. I’m taking a break from Lego building. Train was built yesterday, and then rebuilt this morning. Their eyes gleam as they increase and decrease the speed. I have built a helicopter (ell-e-opi-ter), police car and police station. We had a sudden wind storm this morning that made the lights flash just enough to mess up the sound on the TV and send garbage and recycling cans up and down the block. Hopefully by tomorrow I’ll have figured out the sound on the TV so we can also enjoy the new Knives Out movie.
  7. @Camgirl I’m sorry the day has not worked out. I think you should be proud you’ve rolled with the punches. This will be a Christmas you won’t ever forget. I hope tomorrow is better.
  8. Just off QM2 on TA in QG. I saw very few men (count them on one hand) who didn’t wear a jacket at night. Very few men not wearing a tux on gala nights, I only counted 1. I reiterate that this was in QG. We definitely saw fewer jackets on deck 2. I agree that luggage capacity is a huge issue. I am the poster child for don’t take too much, Rick St… probably has a picture of me trying to get all of the luggage into the hired car with a slogan, “don’t be this kind of traveler.” But, we will make sure there is a tux and a suit when we sail next time.
  9. Presents were opened, dinner and wine consumed. I see there is still part of a bottle of port. Only one melt down because we didn’t build all of the new Lego sets as they were opened. There are pieces of wooden train track strewn throughout the main floor. All are still in bed and Santa has visited. 😉 (More trains to run on those new tracks!) Merry Christmas everyone.
  10. @Kynance Thanks for the recipe. It sounds fantastic. I can do that!
  11. @Kynance Merry Christmas! I would love your sausage roll recipe. We had one in a pub in London and it wasn’t very good. I want a really good one. FYI to all, it is pouring rain this morning. The ice is gone. @Bigmike911 We became friends with a couple from outside of Dallas on the cruise. Wonderful people.

    Covid x 2.

@Craigrlewis “My manager says to me “one can do the morally right thing and rest easily at night”. Thisyou did.” Exactly.
  13. Disembarkation was a breeze! I hope embarkation in June is just as easy. Super friendly and helpful people at every step.
  14. Returning home from QM2 on Thursday was an adventure. Disembarkation was great! We flowed from the ship to claim luggage, where help was immediate, moved quickly through immigration, out to clearly displayed signs for Luggage Forward and Cunard booked private cars. We have a very cold and long wait at JFK due to ice in Seattle which delayed our plane from San Diego. We left the ship at 9:00am EST and arrived home 4:30am EST. Lots, as in over 100, cancelled flights out of Sea Tac airport left luggage confusion. Freezing rain was falling as we left the airport and fortunately our son had shoveled the snow from our driveway. We still couldn’t drive up it, but we didn’t fall down. The pipes to the house had frozen, 1st time in over 30 years, but carefully placed area heaters got the water running around 9:00am Friday morning. The voyage was amazingly smooth. We’re ready to sign-up for our next one! Bring on the Christmas cheer! Happy Holidays to all of you. Peace —
  15. Suite 9052 - The shower tile grout could use a little elbow grease, but mine at home is no better. See pic of our balcony door. They are all over painting outside. Can’t believe the ladies room outside of the theater only has one sink, and it could use complete remodel. But, everything has been clean. Won’t stop me from sailing on her again in June. (We’ll see if I can actually get this picture to upload from our cabin)
  16. Having just climbed over one of the high tubs on QM2, please do something beyond just the shower curtains. There are SO many people on this ship with physical challenges that I can’t imagine how many of them get in and out of the shower! I’ll give up the jetted tub.
  17. Osman commented to us he is looking forward to January 11 when he goes on his 3 month vacation. He offered, and made us his own pasta recipe and will make us lobster tonight. He really does love the theater of the QG.
  18. @bluemarble Thanks for your help. I was able to get into my bookings to find our suite for our June/July cruise.
  19. @bluemarble I’m going to Cunard.com. I’m trying to manage my booking. It is asking for my email and then says it doesn’t recognize it.
  20. @bluemarble Help! I am on QM2 and can’t get to the U.S. Cunard website. It doesn’t recognize my email. Suggestions please?
  21. Gingerbread village was being assembled around 1:30pm
  22. I forgot to mention, we bought the Premium wifi package and have had no problem using it in our cabin. Also, very few people masking.
  23. We brought on 7 bottle in hand luggage for the Dec. 15 TA. I must admit I held my breath as they went through the scanner and I think she may have counted.
