  1. I received the email too and just booked with the above. I will cancel the Princess tour also when I get the ticket vouchers as this is one of my must do excursions in New Zealand. I dont want to risk Princess not doing this excursion.
  2. I booked and paid for an excursion to Hobbiton in the Princess cruise planner a month ago. When I clicked the link to see the "details" it says Oops this page is no longer available. When I went to look at all available excursion in Taraunga its no longer listed. (Not filled or waitlisted but gone). I have not received any correspondence and it is still listed in my cruise planner (just none of the links work). Has this happened to anyone here and if so did the excursion still go or was it cancelled without you being notified?
  3. Another question - for anyone who has gotten the charcuterie board at vines, is it large enough to share or more of a personal plate?
  4. I read recently that Planks and Steamers have been closed for quite some time on the Caribbean. I wonder if they will re-open when this is rolled out on that ship.
  5. Right now I have a front of ship cabin on Royal Princess in November. I have read reviews saying that this cabin can be noisy at night (due to wind) and the balcony can be very windy. Although very large balcony, you need to be standing in order in order to see the water. Would you risk the noise and the windy balcony in order to have a front view of Fiordland National Park (scenic day) and arrival into each port or would being on the Lido deck give you a good enough perspective and book a more useable balcony.
  6. There is no reason to feel obligated to tip extra if you have the princess plus. Having said that, We will tip a little something extra if we are sitting at a bar for while and order a couple drinks or if our room steward does something over and above the normal (make bed and replace towels). I will also tip room service a couple dollars. Although this is my preference, some tip a lot more than I do and others do not. Either way you will get great service.
  7. Thats unfortunate. Was on Regal in March and ordered surf and surf (no turf) and had no problem getting 2 tail instead of filet.
  8. They had the shot glass shots on my Regal cruise a month ago in the specialty restaurants. I had the plus package and was charged $2 (drink free, shot glass $2 is what she told us).
  9. It sounds like something I had happen with NCL. The TA you used may have made a mistake on your invoice. I use an online one also and have had to have them correct a few mistakes that they made. This is not Princess' fault but the agents fault. One time on NCL the TA did not apply the bev package but included it on my invoice that they sent me. It looked like I paid in full. The invoice said I had the package etc. When I went to cruiseline website it showed that the bev package was not included. It was the TA fault as he hit the wrong button when booking it.
  10. First time on Princess and I have a question about a guaranteed cabin. I booked a category MF guaranteed Mini suite. On other cruise lines you book the type of cabin and it can be any category and anywhere on the ship. Since Princess also books the category, does this mean they can put you in an MA, MB, MC. MD, ME or MF (assuming MA is better than MB etc). My TA said we will be on Lido or Marina Deck since that is the only MF cabins. After reading on Princess website it sounds like they can put you anywhere as long as its an MF or better (which is all mini suites). Hopefully I explained this well. Thanks!
  11. First time on Princess, are the pastas a main dish or an appetizer size dish? Can you ask for an appetizer size (instead of ordering an appetizer)? Also, if you ask for a traditional Caesar salad do you get chickpeas or croutons? Thanks in advance
  12. We will be on Solstice next week. Hopefully its a little better for us. I do agree with some of what you said above when we were on the Infinity in October. We were in Aqua class and ate in Blu every night. 1st night husband ordered prime rib. Was asked how he wanted it cooked and he said medium. He was in bathroom when it arrived. It was the saddest prime rib I have ever seen. It was so thin you could only have it raw or well done!!!! We just laugh about it now. Same for the steaks. Lucky for us we cruise for the itinerary! Food is less important. We will be in a Sky Suite next week and will eat in Luminae. I wonder if the steaks are any better in there?
  13. Thank you for this thread. I have never booked longer than a few months before cruise. However I plan on booking a cruise for September 2024. So, if I understand correctly, I can repeatedly call and ask for a repricing before finally payment. Once finally payment occurs, I can ask for a one-time only FCC if the same room category is still available at a lower price. Do I have it right? Do you have to book directly with NCL to be able to do this or can a travel agency do this if you book thru one?
  14. If some in your party bought wifi package do they still nedd to purchase the 1.99 to chat with those that only purchased that option?
  15. 1st time on a Princess cruise and curious to know about entertainment venues during dinner time - specifically on discovery. We were just on a royal cruise and there was very little entertainment (lots of trivia) before dinner or actually before theater shows. The entertainment, other than theater, was so over crowded that it was almost impossible to get a seat. In contrast, NCL always seemed to have some type of entertainment - even if its just a piano player. what should I expect with Discovery Princess?
  16. Can someone please tell me if club soda is included in the soda package or is it only included in refresher package?
  17. NCL haven area, if its affordable, would suit you needs. By the time we added on beverage package, specialty dining and internet the price wasnt much different than our upcoming RCI cruise.
  18. So thats what I thought until I read this under the 3 night package that is why I am confused: For ships with these venues, Teppanyaki/Izumi Hibachi is included, with a $10 surcharge, Chef's Table is included, with a $49.99 surcharge, and Dadong is included, with a $35 surcharge. These will be charged once onboard.
  19. We have the 3 restaurant package (plus one free from TA). If we would like to use one of our restaurants for the chefs table, if I am reading correctly, we would pay $50pp plus tip extra? If I do use one of my restaurants, I cannot book it until we board (like we have to do with all the other restaurant reservations)? And lastly, can we book all of our reservations including Chefs Table at any restaurant once we board or is there a specific restaurant to book reservations?
  20. My husband I used Inspire and it was super easy. We booked our appt together, did the test at the same time, and our results were emailed to us immediately (the tester waited online until we received the email). I cant think of any con!
  21. Yikes! I will be on Anthem in a month and so far Spectra, The Gift and We will Rock You have been mentioned as not enjoyable! Maybe the juggler will be good...haha
  22. Thank you so much for doing this. We will be cruising out of Southampton in a few week. Look forward to watching more videos!
  23. On our Anthem cruise in Aug, I have to pay 64 pp + tip (that was a sale price its now up to 69) while those on the same cruise from UK can call and get it for the $42.324 (40 euros)total. That is where I think RCI is totally unfair.
  24. Thats the cruise we are doing in August. Even in my planner the menus dont go beyond 7 days. Hence the reason for my post. Have a great cruise and let me know any highlights that I should look into. Thanks!
