  1. What would happen if they held a shopping seminar and nobody came
  2. Yes, there is a chance. It highly depends on where the ship is and what networks the games are on.
  3. I think the bad reviews you are reading are mostly from DCL fans who are disappointed it is so different from the other 4 ships. We've been on board twice now and really enjoy the Wish. Such a beautiful ship.
  4. I find that really hard to believe. The difference is so great.
  5. You are welcome to check in anytime after your official time, as long as you get there before boarding closes.
  6. As long as all the reservations are linked there is nothing more you need to do
  7. On a typical 7-night cruise you can expect to hear from them on the Monday or Tuesday before departure.
  8. The few times I've sailed from there I just parked at the port. Will be doing the same when I sail in January.
  9. Effy pays Royal a fee to have a shop on board and to have the "Port Shopping Expert" tout their wares.
  10. Never been in a Aguatheater suite, but I'd go with the higher the better. Good views and a shorter walk from the elevators.
  11. Used it on the Harmony and the Allure without problems.
  12. I suspect they believe that a few people will have to cancel by the time the cruise sails
  13. Sure. For a first cruise it may be a good compromise between a week of WDW and an opportunity to "get your feet wet" on DCL. I'm a huge Disney fan. When I retired, I actually moved to FL to be close to Disney. I now live about 2 miles from the castle. I've also sailed on DCL 18 times so far. So, I think I've got a good perspective on both WDW and DCL. I'm realistic enough to see that some folks don't care for cruising or base their preference on a different line. So, when somebody asks about a specific cruise Iine I suggest the shorter cruise just so they can give it a fair trial.
  14. Good info above from @Shmoo here, as usual. I'd just add that if you are Disney fans and cruise fans that yes, DCL will be a good choice for you. Perhaps you could combine a 4-night sailing from Port Canaveral with a few days at WDW. I wouldn't do anything shorter than 4-nights for your first Disney cruise (or any cruise now that I think about it). Not sure you'd want to take a full week cruise though but it really depends on you and what your child is like.
  15. We really enjoy LPC! Fun show and the food is excellent as well.
  16. If you are driving, you'll spend about 15 minutes in line to drop your luggage and then park your car in the garage.
  17. Easiest is to just bring a refillable, insulated tumbler. You can refill it in the room (ship's water is made the same way as bottled waters) before you head out.
  18. I'll bet that was the last time the attendant forgot to leave the towels. Thanks for giving Celebrity a chance to do some remedial training - it makes it better for the rest of us.
  19. You are able to drop your bags with the porters before parking.
  20. I suspect they are a bit hamstrung by the existing program. While I'd like something based on number of nights or $ spent, there would be a lot of complaints from those that get "downgraded" by such a switch.
  21. It's not about the room type. It's about where the cabins are located as relates to ship structural considerations. FWIW both were family veranda cabins. One on deck 12 (concierge) and one on deck 10. This is 12502, left side of veranda:
  22. Not all the balcony dividers on the Wish open to adjacent rooms. We've sailed on her twice and neither cabin had both dividers that could open. They only had the divider on one side what was openable.
  23. Just to add to the above post - All the major car rental companies have locations near the port and a free shuttle.
  24. Coco Cay for us. Much nicer layout. Shopping is easy. No aggressive locals trying to get you into their shop.
