What about the candy or teeshirts they also mentioned. Is that ok not to demean them also??

'Perhaps a nice bottle of wine, candy or a tee shirt .... He/she will be pleasantly surprised and grateful.'

I'm coming from a place of experience, in speaking to the fact that I/we have actually done this with the advice from fellow passengers. Most recently a couple we traveled with from Enfield England. And if you or others spend enough time on this site you will read that this is offered as advice and practiced. Advice about feelings (sense) is far removed from actual experience. If you were incensed from the post ignore it and take advice from those you deem worthy.

  2. with a brief conversation you can get an idea of what the staff member is interested in. Since they are very busy and usually don't get a chance to go ashore while in port. The information gathered can be used to purchase a physical gift to show your appreciation.  Perhaps a nice bottle of wine, candy or a tee shirt .... He/she will be pleasantly surprised and grateful.

My wish for you is that someday, you receive an offer to go, because you are discerning in your appreciation of the art form.

They will try to recreate the ambiance, but that Victorian mansion overlooking LA is spooky and that adds in a way you'll never find on the ship.

And my guess is you won't mind dressing for admission. There are those here that would rather stuff their suitcase with rubber ducks, door decorations, smuggled booze, travelling wine kit, water picks, blow dryers, snack foods, 3 or 4 electronic devices and a power strip to charge them. Anyone who travels often has learned to travel light. Wear a sportcoat on the plane and roll up a tie in the pocket.

"I must have the S3 suite, but $35 for a checked bag? I'm not packing a tie for dinner then." For magic, go to the Magic Castle. For comedy, sometimes you can just read Cruise Critic.

A Champagne Tower the shape of the ones built on Princess ships contain approximately 650 glasses.  In addition to the fact that the flow of Champagne can rarely reach the center glasses, at a rate of 12 glasses per bottle, it would take over 50 bottles to fill every glass.  Plus, due to the inefficiency of the way the liquid flows, it's not like the glasses fill at an even rate with the 650th glass being filled without any spillage or overflow of the other glasses.  So you are probably looking at a 30%-50% margin of error for overage.  Who wants to stand around for the length of time it would take to pour 75 bottles? And by the time the 650th glass was filled, the first glasses would be warm. The stuff they are pouring is hard to choke down at a proper 45F.  Once it gets to room temperature, it is best dumped into the nearest plant.

Question, not looking for a lecture, - have all the cigar lounges been removed from all the Princess ships?

On the wonderful Majestic, I enjoyed my cohiba and Remy Martin deck seventeen aft, under the stars and warm breeze 🙂

Fortuna Luck on Sapphire at the moment is engaging and funny, she has boundless energy. I was also not sure what exactly her role is, but she certainly makes Bingo more fun 🙂

I used her as a write in on the primary ballot

I have only sailed three times on MSC in YC.  We never had an issue getting a lounger for the day.   YC is a great product.   We still explored other areas of the ship.  I was hoping that Princess ( first cruise) would have the same type option for those in Signature Suites.  No matter what, I plan on having a great time on the Sun.

I'm certain you will have a great time and I'm optimistic the visit to the signature sun deck will be well worth it.

I don't necessarily disagree with @memoak, but sometimes dumb play saves the table.  That said, I hate it more b/c it slows the rhythm of game (pensive deep thought about their hunches) and also drives me nuts on how stupid it these players can be.

I tried a hotdog from the Promenade Grill on deck 9. Like the pizza, I thought it was better than up on Lido. They cook the hot dogs on the grill. Upstairs they’re rolling on the rack like at 7-Eleven.

Edit: at both grill locations you order with someone that fills out a sheet and hands you a pager for when it’s ready.

Just a small note...  about the cabins on the Sphere.

One might imagine that the sphere is the same both forward and aft.

Like mirror image, when it comes to how it is lined up with cabins.

But, looking at the deck plans, the sphere is not exactly equal in how the cabins line up.

We are looking at the first cabin on the sphere..  and I notice on the photos (which all seem to be from the AFT!!!) that the curve of the sphere might make that balcony slightly larger than the first balcony on the front of the sphere.  The curved sphere glass seems to overlap a foot or two over onto the adjoining straight balcony, when one looks at deck 11.

🤔  okay, I'm starting to think about rescinding my offer.

OP previously wrote that overall the ship felt more stable than other Princess ships. Likely because this is the first one with an azipod.

He did report some motion in the AFT, Horizons Dining Room one evening. Overall no vibration and the cruise OP has been on has had high winds, rough seas on previous day(s).

It/she floats on a carpet of air
