  1. I met Rich on our Reflection Med cruise a few years ago. Very nice guy, great cruise director and very personable. I know a lot of people don't care who the CD is but they really can make a difference.
  2. Sorry about testing positive and being quarantined but am SO happy to read this. I am hoping this is a new policy they will follow for positive cases after reading many awful reviews of the "isolation deck" in outside rooms. Very nice touch sending cocktails to the room. Seems like they are improving the quarantine experience.
  3. I always enjoy reading reviews of Galapagos cruises. Galapagos is high on my bucket list and definitely want to go in the next couple years. The Buenos Aires-Santiago beat it out for next year 🙂 Did you have any issues with the altitude in Quito?
  4. And I bet most of them took rapid antigen tests which will come back negative unless you have symptoms. It is quite easy for people to board and already have the virus before symptoms start. Nothing against the OP, but why are people complaining about catching COVID when they choose to cruise during a pandemic with hundreds of other unmasked guests? That is the risk you decided to take.

  6. The current promo is expiring May 31st. Has anyone heard of what the new promo will be starting June 1st? I have talked to a few different people at Viking and they are tight lipped.

  8. Jim, Your live threads are always so enjoyable and full of information and great pictures. Even though we are sailing other cruise lines right now we are still planning on taking the Apex T/A next April and look forward to meeting you and Iain. Steve
  9. Unless its within a week or two of departure, this is not fair to those who have booked higher categories for priority reservations. They should at least allow 3 days between the categories or remove that "perk" from the cabin descriptions.
  10. I waited a week and never heard from them. I did call “customer service” but they were of no help at all. It seemed like the person was new and not very knowledgeable. Not a good first impression for a new guest.

  12. THIS just baffles me and is unacceptable. As a loyal Celebrity guest (usually Retreat) I refuse to sail with them until this quarantining in inside/oceanview rooms stops. Depriving people of fresh air from a balcony while unable to leave the cabin is ridiculous. After reading Jim's ordeal with how he was treated just sealed it for me.

  14. Some of you are being unfair to the OP. They just joined CC so they obviously haven't spent time on the boards before. If someone has cruised previously on any other cruise line besides Viking they would not have been tested daily. If you booked on the website you could easily miss the daily testing information.
  15. Has anyone emailed "tellus" lately? How long did it take to get a response? I have been waiting several days and was curious if they just are busy or they aren't going to respond.

  17. This is exactly why I am not sailing on Celebrity anytime soon. Quarantining anyone in an inside or oceanview cabin with no access to fresh air is ridiculous.
  18. I was researching the same tour. Think I will skip this one.
  19. If you haven't received it within 30 days call Celebrity or have your TA call if you have one. As mentioned, once I called they magically were able to issue it within a couple hours. I may be wrong but I do not believe you can use an FCC for a deposit. I know I will be corrected if that is not the case. I thought I had to pay $900 and then add the FCC.
