  1. I don’t think you are if you are gone less than 30 minutes. It’s the people who put their items down early in the morning and don’t return until after lunch or several hours later.
  2. Definitely chair hogs on the Star this week! Books and personal items on the chairs by 7 AM on sea days. With only 24 loungers available at the infinity pool, they go fast.
  3. That is false. When Eclipse did r/t Hawaii from Los Angeles a couple years ago suites were sold out in 2 days and all other cabins within a week or so. We were waitlisted and never cleared.
  4. Just walked In to our DV room on the Star. Unfortunately no drawers in the closet. Storage is definitely tight for this 14 night cruise.
  5. Using that logic an RS in no way compares to a CS. The huge bathroom with separate tub/shower, the separate guest bath, large dining table and unlimited speciality restaurants and bar setup. Isn’t it great we can all make our own choices for what is best for each of us?
  6. Have not seen or heard of any updates on Vista. Usually someone will post pictures from the shipyard but haven’t seen anything. Would be nice to get an official update (not I heard this from someone) for those of us booked for Summer 2023.
  7. I think you quoted the wrong post. My post has nothing to do with butlers.
  8. AGREE 100%. The Celebrity Suite was a one and done for us. The bathroom is terrible and the "bedroom" is very tight. I would much rather be in a SS or RS (if budget allows).
  9. Thank you for all of the information regarding Navigator. We have only sailed on Explorer and we’re considering an itinerary next year on Navigator so your honest feedback is appreciated. I am not sure it would be a good fit for us.
  10. We are going on this cruise in January. You will be boarding as we finish in BA on the 7th. I Found lots of information on the ports boards as well as trip advisor. I may do a live thread depending on interest but if not I’ll be happy to answer questions while on board.
  11. I believe we got it (Oct 14th cruise) because of the very late notice. Personally I was happy to get the OBC as I have been to Key West before but I understand others disappointment.
  12. I am relaxed and I’m breathing. And despite being hours away from being struck by a major hurricane I don’t need a “chill pill”. I am merely asking Viking to honor what was promised when I booked my cruise, a reservation 60 days in advance.
  13. Steve at the Trip Insurance Store is amazing. Highly recommend on cruise critic. I always buy the IMG plan which offers excellent coverage at reasonable prices. Every plan Steve offers covers Covid.
  14. It definitely depends on your cabin category. Any of the PV and above don’t seem to have any problem but those of us in DV can’t get any reservations. I did speak to two Viking reps as well as @tellus and no one was of any help at all. The “guarantee” 60 days in advance is false advertising. I argued back and forth about it and told Viking it should be removed from the cabin description. Not a good start to our first Viking cruise.
  15. Sorry, attachment didn’t work
  16. Per the latest updates from Viking (Sept 23rd), you need to do both.
  17. I was wondering also. I will be on the Star next month, if no one else confirms I will come back and reply.
  18. We are booked with Parrilla for January. Have not used them yet but reviews and communication are excellent. https://parrillatour.com/
  19. I just received the email from Viking saying I need to use Verifly for our cruise next month. I had thought this was no longer being used. There are several posts from people who did not use it and had no issues boarding. I think we will just bring our vax cards with us.
  20. You can book this tour direct with the vendor. I have been in contact with them, although they do take a while to respond. It is half the cost of what shore excursions group is charging. It is through Hosteria Agua Fresca. You can find them on FB
  21. As Jim stated, I would not want to fly out of Manaus. Charter or not. It definitely is not one of the safer cities in South America. Personally I would rebook for a round-trip cruise that goes down the Amazon to Manaus and then comes back out. I believe both Oceania and Regent offer this cruise. Just my 2 cents.
  22. For Viking? I have 2 cruises in the next 4 months and both roll calls are DEAD. I cant even find 2-4 others to join me on private tours. The South America tour prices are crazy high.
  23. With a 2 week gap I would guess a charter or dry dock. Orion will be 5 years old in 2023 so that would fit the time line for a dry dock. Not sure why it wouldn’t leave from Singapore again though 🤔
  24. I really dislike posters who post a rant and then never come back to acknowledge the responses or give any follow up. It discredits the information they have given. Here we are 3 days after the original post and nothing from the OP.
