  1. Actually, the part you missed was where anybody even said it was "specifically" my job... Keep in mind that I didn't state anything either way, I simply asked two questions. You shouldn't need to make up things that weren't said just to argue against them.
  2. That is correct...I am here (as are you). I have read the thread, and I understand the issue. However, that doesn't change my statement that it isn't my job to read and summarize the thread for people who won't read it themselves. The fact that I am here and the fact that they aren't being given their summary, only proves my point. Did you just miss the obvious, or did your "retort" somehow make sense before you typed it?
  3. You're not seeing the logic because you are looking at the viewpoint of one consumer (one cruiser on one sailing of one ship) instead of viewing it from the viewpoint of the company who considers all cruisers on all ships combined as a whole. IOW, you can't see the forest for the trees.
  4. - - S I G H - - So what is the expectation here? Are we now supposed to summarize and spoon-feed topics to people who don't think it is "worth their time" to read the thread? It certainly isn't worth MY time to do the work for them.
  5. First issue I see here in the thread is that some have mistakenly equated "priority" with "first" or "early" and that just isn't the case. The first guests off the ship will be the VIPs (the actual VIPs, not those who paid for special treatment), the Haven guests, and those who require assistance. Then NCL will disembark the guests who are willing to carry off their own luggage. Once all this is done, everyone left onboard will be people who will have left out luggage the night prior. When it is time to start calling these people, "priority disembarkation" will be the first group called. Priority is nothing more than the first luggage group called. Even then, you still have to wait in line with all of the other priority folks.
  6. Interesting. In the US we just think that when you want to ask "why" that you ask the actual party (in this case, NCL) and not random people who a) are not a party to the decision making, and b) have no idea "why"...THAT is the polite thing to do.

  8. Sure...this is, after all, a discussion forum...not a support group. You can't simply expect everyone to believe in or side with you. Such is the nature of a forum. OTOH, if people were to place reviews in the review section instead (radical concept warning), then nothing gets torn apart since you cant post replies to reviews. Maybe...just maybe...that is because it IS the fault of the poster. Unrealistic expectations, and lack of understanding of the product, are repeated conditions found with complainers. Travel agents and PCCs will work for you at no additional cost, yet so many complainers shun them and book themselves, only to be upset when faced with the consequences of not understanding what they are doing. The information is out there, I don't know why we have to support those who refuse to use it.

  10. Nickle and diming refers to mandatory extra charges, not to options available for purchase at the customer's discretion. For example, if NCL were to tell you at the terminal that there is a $5 charge for your key card (which you HAVE to have), then that would be nickel and diming. Society today, whether we like it or not, revolves around the blame shift. Put the blame on someone else, nothing is your own fault. For many people, saying the cruise line is "nickel and diming" gives them better feelz than having to say "I want something, but can't afford it right now".

  12. I was going to add a third category, which would have been those with a constant need to let everyone know that they will be, are, or were in the Haven. You know, the posts where "Haven" is mentioned in every other sentence...they even say "Haven butler" so as not to get it confused with the other butler? However, I think this, and the narcissim folks, really fall under #1.
  13. My favorite was the woman who spend her entire cruise sobbing uncontrollably after she discovered that she had booked a hull balcony. That aside, Read enough CC reviews and it becomes apparent that there are two huge drivers behind the over the top reviews: #1 - Need for attention #2 - Need for compensation
  14. Oh, I wasn't joking...there are more than enough over the top reviews to supply a YouTube channel for quite a while. It would be a great idea for someone with the time to make the weekly video.

  16. You could probably make a very popular YouTube channel just by taking a review, and then reading it, breaking it down, and offering common sense advice/commentary in a video each week.

  18. You can't simply do what you did above...at the point where you did your screen grab, port taxes and fees haven't been added to the booking. Not only that, but you're not comparing identical packages You need the total price for the club balcony suite under the OP's booking package, not today's booking package. Apples to oranges.
  19. You didn't like the answer you got from NCL and you don't like the answer you get here. Sorry about that, but sometimes the truth isn't what we want to hear. Your answer above incorrectly compares CURRENT pricing. You didn't originally book under that pricing, so you can't use it. Again...apples to oranges. Also, sorry that nobody here past final payment is going to call and try to cancel their booking just to "prove" something to you. This is only an internet discussion forum. Not a court for you to prensent your case, not a support group, we don't provide ammo and arguments for you to use against the cruise line...this is just a place to chat, not a place where everyone agrees.
  20. You don't understand. It doesn't matter whether you use it or not...it is still part of the package, and ALL parts of the package must be present to get a price adjustment. While bogo air is currently offered, it is NOT currently offered on your sailing. Shortly after final payment, NCL removed the bogo air as you are too close for their provider to book your tickets. Here are the Joy sailings...as you can see, no airfare offered. You are comparing apples to oranges.
  21. Ah, so you like semantics. Ok, I'll play along. You said it wasn't relevant, but you mentioned it anyway. I'd ask why, but I don't really care. Nobody said "us". I actually said "people" in the general sense...I didn't even say "you". It certainly isn't silly to think that NCL is going to put their ships where they make the most return for their stockholders. Again, creating arguments that don't exist. I didn't say they "couldn't make NY work", I simply pointed out that someplace else must be working BETTER. While a B is a passing grade, an A is still more desirable. That said, NO...there is no "official word from NCL on their strategy". NCL doesn't make a habit of explaining or announcing their strategy on internet forums. Oftentimes it is easier to say something makes no sense than to admit we don't understand it. And just because we don't understand and/or agree, doesn't mean it is wrong. Ports were evaluated and NCL choose to position themselves to maximize their potential earnings. Simple. Makes perfect sense.
  22. Yes, the price drops after final payment simply because the BOGO air is no longer offered...whether you took it in your initial booking or not. This is a change in the deal, it is NOT considered to be a price drop. If you want actual answers here you will need to share your entire original invoice (you can redact the personal info) showing the date of booking, the booking codes, etc. Other than that, you just end up being someone looking for someone to tell them what they want to hear.
  23. So, are you stating that the Free @ Sea bundle that you originally booked is EXACTLY the same offer that is being marketed today? It has to be the exact same offer, regardless of what you accepted (for example, you could have delcined bogo airfare, but if bogo airfare isn't offered now it isn't the same offer...you can't simply compare the price alone).
