  1. Thank you for reporting your experience. Glad you got home safely and took precautions against infecting anyone else on the way. Hope your wife remains Covid-free or at least asymptomatic.

you may want to re-think using the RT-LAMP tests. My understanding is that they may show a positive result weeks or months after you are no longer contagious. You are much less likely to have a positive result on an antigen test prior to your next cruise.

best wishes for a speedy recovery!

  2. Not sure what the issue is here. At this point, your sister will need a rapid antigen test within a day of entry to the United States.   If she flies in the day before the cruise, that test will also be valid for boarding the ship. For example, if she receives a positive test on April 11, it is valid for her April 12 flight and for boarding the ship on April 13. The test to board must be done within 2 days of boarding if not boosted or within 3 days of boarding if boosted.

Anyone hear anything about how B2Bs are being handled?

We leave on a TA from PE on 4.16 to Southampton then reboard and continue on 5.1 for the second half ot the B2B.

We are in a similar situation and hoping the cruise lines treat B2B the same way as in the US, i.e. free test onboard the day before arrival in Europe.

  4. I need to gamble more….

I’m doing a 21 day transatlantic with HAL next month. If I make a small donation to the slots ever day, will it put me on the list to get casino offers/rates??

Now that I’m retired, I have both the time and the inclination!

  5. I am surprised at the unmasked fans in Toronto. Why no masks unless it was outdoors where technically they are not required?  Still should be worn in outdoor crowds IMO, but I realize that is an unpopular opinion at this point.

I agree that the testing on return to Canada is outdated and useless now. It may have been thought to be helpful in the beginning of Omicron to try to keep it out of the country, but obviously didn’t work. The only reason I can think arrival testing is alive and well is that the government has already paid for the testing contract and doesn’t want to appear wasteful. Hopefully the arrival testing will disappear soon.

Canadians can always return to Canada. It is a mistake to say that we can't go home while COVID positive.

Currently, if I test positive while in Costa Rica, I can’t get on a plane to Canada. Therefore I can’t go home. I don’t understand your statement.
