  1. Hmm, it does not look that "wow" from the pictures. Lots of the new ships have great looking spaces. I have to agree with the poster above. It looks like some of those great spaces that are available without the bigger price tag. Service and amenities can certainly impact experience for sure. But just from those pictures, it doesn't look "all that" as was said back in the day, lol. I guess I was expecting it to look a bit more grand for the price.
  2. My last NCL cruise was on the Encore. Sure it's newer with more bells and whistles, but it also has some limitations with open deck space which I value a lot for Caribbean cruises. (Minus, the Vibe being added into the calculation, but i dont pay for that option so it also takes away from free, outdoor, open deck space for everyone to enjoy.) Yes, it has a large Observation Lounge that some people enjoy and value having available, but I want to be outside, not indoors, on a Caribbean cruise. To me, I would value that more on colder climate cruises, not the Caribbean. And, all those fancy indoor activities that might be attractive for teens and the outdoor stuff like that big race track, it all takes up prime outdoor deck space as well. I loved the entertainment and dining for sure, but I'm passing on heading back to Encore any time soon. I'm sailing on Escape in January/February. I've learned that newer isn't always better. Regarding the departure location, no problem with PC. This is a great question. Thanks for posting it. 😁🙋‍♀️🛳
  3. I understand. There are only two dinners that we really want and one lunch, so we will decide how to proceed based on the best math. 😉😁
  4. Yes, I have done this a few times. They were usually 7 day sailings. Earlier this year, I did MSC and NCL out of Miami. In Feb, I'm doing MSC and Royal. Again, both 7 days. I might be able to sneak in a NCL and Carnival combo next year as well. I love doing comparisons back to back on different lines and ships. It's fun. I havent sailed with Carnival in over 15 years. But, now I'm addicted to trying new ships so I want to try the new Carnival Celebration next year. LoL
  5. I saw on a video yesterday that the 3 Dinner Package is not really limited to just dinners. It was said to be three meals which means you can use it for lunches or dinners. On here and in the planner everyone says dinners. So, is it true that it can be used for a lunch, not just dinners? Just checking. Thx
  6. Ok. I'm checking in tomorroww via the app. Very excited. Returning to Symphony!
  7. I have a quick question. Is it better to check in using the app or logging in on the website? Are there any differences? Thanks
  8. Oh man. Sorry to hear that for you and me both.Sailing on Symphony in December. Hope included food improves by then. Glad you enjoyed everything else.
  9. Thanks. I was commenting on the comment about an existing spreadsheet. Thanks!
  10. When I first read this message, I was like wow, 10 drinks in one day. Then, I read it again and guessed maybe you meant that there were two people and you all had 10 total drinks. So, that was 5 cocktails per person for a total of 10 drinks. Maybe? Or, I guess any combo of drinks for each of you, but they totaled 10 between the 2 people versus 10 drinks for one person. Either way, hope you all had a great cruise. 🤗🛳
  11. How is she as a CD? I'm sailing on Symphony in December. From the emoji response, I'm not sure if you were being serious or sarcastic. (I was hoping to have Dennis.) Thanks.
  12. I have read good things on here about Dennis so I was looking forward to having him as the CD on Symphony when I cruise in earrly December. Anyone have good experiences with Clo O'Connor? Anyone with experience with both Dennis and Clo able to share a comparison of the two? I guess it doesn't matter if he won't be on the ship, but just curious since I was looking forward to having what some people considered to be a good CD for the sailing, especially since I'm taking a first time cruiser along for the adventure. 🌞🤗 Thanks
  13. What do you usually get upgraded to?
  14. Ok. Sorry that my question is not clear. Maybe someone else will understand what I'm asking. If not, I will try to ask it a different way. Thank you.
  15. Oh, my question is design wise, which ships are designed with more outdoor space free of stuff like slides and other stuff taking up the outdoor deck space. Like open deck space I can walk around or sit and relax on. Hopefully that helps. This is not a question about passenger behavior. I'm asking about ship design.
  16. Hi Biker19, Yes, I've seen quite a bit of chatter about chair hogs. Are you saying that the renovated ships have more chair hogs? Sorry, just trying to understand the link between chair hogs and my question that you quoted. Thanks
  17. Hello fellow cruisers, Which Royal ships have the most open deck space? I enjoy the Oasis class ships and now there's all the chatter about the new Icon. But, I would love to enjoy a ship with a lot of open deck space for just relaxing and enjoying the ocean. Which class ships or specific ships offer that? And of those ships with great open outdoor space, which ones have been amped or had renovations of some type ? I dont need amped to include slides and all that. I just mean some freshening up of public spaces or cabins if they happen to be older ships. Thanks! **the word I meant was amp or refurbished, not renovations I guess. Trying to use the right language for Royal ships. 🙂
  18. Hi, These are the same prices for my early December, non-holiday, cruise on Symphony. I check every day also. And it's been the same price pattern that you mentioned. I've been seeing $101 and $207 for months without any change. So, the little bump up in price this week was interesting. I will continue watching daily to see what happens. We check in next week. I'm curious to see what happens right after check in (like will prices stay the same, go up, or drop.) Its an interesting process. It will be interesting if prices will keep sitting here at this new little increased rate a full month until Black Friday, IF that's the plan.
  19. Calls from PCCs after I do mock bookings online have been happening to me for years. I just ignore them if I dont need to speak with them.
  20. There are excellent videos on YouTube with tours, tons of info about the different beach areas, an overview of everything that's free, etc. I found the videos excellent for helping me learn about options and layout of the island. Happy planning.
