  1. Yes, my card was charged within minutes of my transaction. It’s also showing in Manage my Cruise and everything is listed. I also think it could have been converted incorrectly.
  2. True, but the rate we were given has not been this low in years. I was just curious if any other fellow Canadians had this experience. Certainly, no complaints here.
  3. Today we added Princess Plus package to our existing 12 night Regal Princess cruise in 2023. $50.00 U.S. per day per person is $1200.00 US total for 12 nights. The price for us to pay in Canadian was $1393.00. This is approximately a 16% exchange rate, which is much lower than the actual exchange rate. How can Princess offer us such a crazy low rate? Has anyone else experienced this? This amount was charged to our credit card immediately and is showing on our reservation as paid, so all is well. Thank you Princess!
  4. I wish I could give you a list of delicious cocktails, but my DH and I are very boring, predictable drinkers. For me Grey Goose with tonic and float two orange slices. My DH is Scotch straight up and no ice. Bartenders get to know us and like how easy it is to make us happy!
  5. NCL The Haven is a good comparison. Anywhere else on an NCL ship is very low scale. Have you tried Edge class on Celebrity? Suites are fabulous. Princess suite experience can be disappointing if you sailed in suites on other lines. You go for the itinerary on Princess, certainly not the food.
  6. Which Princess ship are you interested in? I need to point out, that as a long time Celebrity cruiser myself, your suite experience on Princess cannot compare to what you’re used to on Celebrity. There is no comparable suite dining on Princess that comes close to Luminae. The same goes for The Retreat. There is smoking allowed in the Princess casino, which tends to waft around the rooms and hallways in that general area. That being said, Princess does offer very nice Alaska itineraries. In my opinion, much better than Celebrity’s. So, it depends on your priorities, the ship or the itinerary. We sail with Princess most frequently when we see an itinerary we really want. We go knowing what to expect and we’re rarely disappointed. Good luck with your decision!
  7. I’m seeing exactly the same thing! No indication of a family suite anywhere. Wish the OP could send us a screenshot.
  8. In Canada, all cannabis products are legal, just like alcohol. Cannabis stores are regulated and monitored closely. We, along with most Europeans, don’t even think about it anymore. I purchase CBD oil with zero THC for my dogs for their joints and other health benefits. My neighbour buys the same bottle for her arthritis. I wouldn’t have thought twice about taking it on a cruise, if I needed it. Thanks for the information!
  9. We always paid about $20.00 including tip pre-Covid for two passengers. Forty dollars is double that, but you had four passengers, so I guess it’s possible. Something sketchy with that meter!
  10. Yes, they open fully to divide the two areas. Not really blackout curtains, but heavy enough to dim most of the light. Only available on the Royal class ships and it’s one feature that I love having in a mini suite.
  11. I just checked on YouTube and there is a video of this cabin. When the door opens the bed is on the left wall facing the right wall. Go to YouTube and you can then see the entire video to get a tour of your cabin. Remember to search cabin C325 to narrow it down to your specific cabin. Enjoy!
  12. Oh, no……say it isn’t so! My sweet tooth is in mourning. At least I can still count on the luscious soufflés. Can’t I?
  13. We now only sail Princess in mini suites or occasionally in deluxe balconies on Royal Class. I love the separate living room area with the full size sofa, coffee table, tub chair and the extra tv. On Royal class ships the cabins have a heavy curtain that you can close between the sleeping area and living room area. The bathroom is substantially larger with a tub. Deluxe balconies provide only a small love seat and regular balconies have only one chair to sit on. Teeny little bathroom. On the other hand, we’ve sailed in many interior cabins on many different ships and had a wonderful time. Now that we’re seniors, we appreciate the extra space.
  14. Yes, you are correct! My CVP called yesterday to remind me.
  15. Today our cruise price dropped a total of $362.00 CA total for 12 night in 2023. I emailed our CVP to refare our booking before I realized that we’d lose our $100.00 excursion OBC. So, hardly worth the effort, but it’s better than nothing.
  16. I would most definitely choose Princess over Carnival based on past experience. Keep in mind, we’re seniors, so that probably tells the story. I’m sure there are many folks here who sail Carnival and enjoy it immensely. We tried four times over the years to give it another chance, but each cruise became more disappointing than the last. Princess is a very consistent product. Usually, no big surprises or huge disappointments. Good food, good service, decent entertainment, pretty decor throughout the ship and acceptable accommodations. Very predictable, but very comfortable. Princess also offers interesting itineraries and really competitive pricing. You will now hear from people on the other side of the coin who think Princess is boring and Carnival is exciting. To each their own and nobody is wrong….just different tastes. Our next cruise is on Regal in 2023. We love the Royal Class ships.
  17. Oh, that’s a shame…sorry to hear this. I’m sure most of the Caribbean suffered the same.
  18. I was thinking the same! This is news to me, as we’ve always enjoyed Grand Cayman.
  19. I’m sorry, but I have no idea why the pic of a bunny in response to my post. Either I’m too old to get it or it’s gone over my head. lol. Does it something to do with cruising?
  20. Thanks for sharing that info. We’re booked in a mini suite on our next cruise, 12 day British Isles, and considering bidding on either Club Class or full suite. However, it looks like these options are not for us since the prices will be prohibitive.
  21. lol yes, the slopes will soon be filled and the resort rooms sold out along with all the motels in the area. It’s a great boost to our local economy, thank goodness! The last couple of years were challenging.
  22. Sorry, but except for our loyalty status with Princess and Celebrity, we are far, far from being elite people. We live on a farm northwest of Toronto and you will find us most often in our rubber boots picking up dog poop from the dogs we foster (Samoyeds). We clean up nicely when we cruise so as not to offend anyone.
