Since they are carry on only, maybe a bag. I got a $10 cozumel bag I use if I have extras to carry on or off. Fits over my should and if not used folds into my suitcase. I might carry on 3 or 5 tall pringles cans for my stewards that would crush in my suitcase. If not used then it's just 1 extra item in my suitcase. I dont consider it luggage. Or a backpack you have sitting around at home. I put heavier items in my luggage and use a over the shoukd bag for lighter items. Its doable.

Are you sure there were butlers for JS 10 years ago? I think it's been 10 years when I was in a JS and no real amenities. No butler. I'd guess it's been a lot more years than 10 since they had butlers for JS. Maybe you had a full suite? All I've gotten was faster boarding and no other amenity, but maybe I just wasnt aware of what was offered. I learned a lot during covid about royal I didnt know.

Opened the last packing box. I'll never know if any of my pre packed boxes is missing, a lot of a antiques in those, bronze horses, chinese valuable knick knacks. But I know there was a gray plastic milk crate which I used as a tool box. 50 and 100 ft orange ext cords, and smaller household ext cords, my dads hammer. I traded with him, his was so nice. A huge orange super sized pipe wrench and smaller wrenches, lots of screwdrivers, you need multiples sizes, some times a tiny Phillips head, sometimes a huge one, same with flat heads. All my tools didnt make it into a box. I kept expecting to find them in the next box, or the next. So that settles it in my mind it was rhe dallas packers who also stole the 6 foot step ladder, since its obvious they didnt pack my tools. They were in a bedroom not in the garage where they could be overlooked. Saturday the guy who did the painting kitchen lights, cleaning was supposed to come by but got a better offer, no showed. At least call. So first thing Saturday morning put my coffee in the microwave and it shorted out. Came on and went off. So I spent all Saturday driving to all the appliance places to find a replacement. The one that broke was huge and put my back out. I put refrigerated creamer in my coffee and its not quite hot enough so I nuke it every morning. I would have liked a larger one but 1.1 looked large enough for popcorn. I didnt think I could manage a larger one by myself and wanted it for the next morning. It's one thing I miss when I'm in a hotel room or cruising. I want my coffee almost scalding hot. Stopped by a Checkers, we dont have them any more in dallas that I've seen. Unpacked a few things, exhausted. Got the microwave head first into the publix shopping cart downstairs and up here and threw away a few boxes, now I'm driving them down to the contractors bin. Forget taking them in the shopping cart. 2 bldgs down. Sunday I didnt have plans. I decided I made a mistake on the beds, should have gotten pillow tops. I asked for soft and these arent soft. I called last week monday and friday and kept being told call back to talk to owner. I was in the mindset get beds, can quit paying for a hotel. Not thinking long term. I was not thinking past get there and get pots and pans enough and beds and stay there. My mistake. I've made a lot so far. The place I got the microwave also had 2 rows of beds and I asked him about them and took up enough of his time I just bought a microwave there too. He deserved my business. He said even if you like a soft pillow top you need support and a firm or medium firm mattress below the pillow top. He had a Stearns and Foster for $2700 I liked. Mattress only price. So sunday I thought drive down to Melbourne where I bought the beds and see what they had since the owner is supposed to be back Wednesday and Wednesday I agreed to play bridge with that lady. Its 45 minutes down there, a long drive, but I kept moving further south memorial weekend to find a nice hotel. Actually I didnt realize that hotel was so far south. I think route 192 and I thought exit 192, its exit 180, so another 18 miles even further than I thought. But anyway was going to be hard to get down there by the time I called Wednesday and they opened at 10 am and bridge starts showing up after 11:30. They have some very nice expensive beds. I found 2 I liked he said were 6k mattress only. A black serta, top of their line and a Posh+Lavish, the pillow top was sold separate and matching material. Would be hard to make the bed. That also was 6k. Just mattress and topper. They also sold some kind of artic cool, or urban loft * ice brand and puffy. About to give up and he took me up front to a bed next to his best seller. Seems like his best seller would have been a good place to start. The best seller was nice, the one next to it felt even nicer. It's hard to lay on a bed in a store and know how it will sleep. I barely tolerate royal caribbean beds too hard. I like carnival beds, softer. I wanted to trade both beds in. He said the bed you bought is perfectly good, you dont know what guests will like. Who doesnt like a good pillow top. He offerd to exchange 1 mattress, 1 I have is untouched how it was delivered. I also asked the motion be moved to the 2nd bedroom with the mattress I slept in. Seems for a major swap I need to wait for the owner, but he could swap 1 mattress. I said I'll tip extra if they move the motion. I sleep on my side. I cant imagine ever wanting to use it. It sounded good in the store. I like both bed frames. Not sure the cherry was worth the extra money but it's so me. Friday they will come. They offer same day delivery but I told my realtor today or tomorrow I'd meet him for lunch. The painter also offered to come today or tomorrow and I said realtor beat him, laters, and Wednesday and thursday I committed to play bridge. So I couldnt promise to be home from 11 to 4 until friday. Now that all the boxes are open things should settle down. I got some odds and ends in 2 dish pack boxes I cant figure out what to do with. But that's all that's left to put away. I can start thinking cruising again lol. My cousin fannie, closest to my age and so much fun, and such a good person said she will know by this fall if she can come down nov or jan. Her husband might need surgery and she has a daughter with pts and suicidal in the hospital getting her medications in balance. She was posting crazy last week, like good bye posts and pray for her, calling out for help. And her brother has emphysema or something she goes down into cinn every other week to check on so she is pretty busy all the time. Shes the one up there taking care of everyone. Her one daughter doesnt drive so she is down northern kentucky a lot too, the one hospitalized. She doesnt drive either. So I think she and my mom always had a special bond with mom having my sister. A child should grow up and be able to live alone, but sometimes they need to be taken care of forever. She is such a lovely person I hope she can get away. She is the birder. She has another daughter brilliant heads chemistry dept at a college, moved to a smaller college who gave her more time off. She has been all over the world in the wilds leading bird tours. Shes not just a birder she is a paid tour guide and so smart. I was happy to hear from my cousin last night. She is the kind to laugh and make me laugh. She is the one I stayed with when I drove to ohio last summer. .. anyway been busy but I'll catch up here. Was too tired to post last few days.

No packages can you pre book the restaurants before you board yet. It was talked about for last January, they said maybe after icon it would start.. well its after icon they just didnt say how long after icon started. My TA said on one cruise he was able to prebook restaurants in the terminal on one before he boarded.. but still not much faster than after you board., not sure which port he boarded that he saw that.

I've had these at least half a dozen times and like them. Never had a noise issue. Seems like it's a particular cabin issue rather than a promenade room issue.

They are the only place who has vitamin water, orange flavour only. Unless you happen to see a blue cart full of ice, before a port day, I've seen them on one ship in the ice. Or smoothies or specialty coffee, they have a blender.

No rhyme or reason I know. Last year I could see all of this yewr by black Friday, but none of 2025. Still cant see hardly any of 2025. They release as rhe feel like doing it. .. from what ove seen. Just keep checking.

On a hotel web site this hotel is rates 9.4 on reviews. And refundable. I pulled it up in Italian, the rate is 1.07 euros to $1. I'm not sure if this says refundable or not though. I googled it and camera just means bedroom. Gotta make sure this is the same hotel and location as I was looking for, within walking distance of spanish steps. Albergo Santa Cliara .. 4 nights after I get off my cruise. Just to compare. So far this solo room tops my list. Idk if all solo have that little balcony pictured. Also superior solo, but I'd take the smaller solo with balcony so far top of my list. Here is direct price in euros.

Well air fare isnt out for another week and I want to bundle them together. Probably use a hotel site though I did see the warning above. I got 2 other hotels on my list. Only one is refundable, albergo santa cliara. About same exact price, a little higher reviews. It's also close enough to walk to the spanish steps and close to where i want to be, within walking distance. Same amenities, breakfast, airport shuttle, wifi, ac, and refundable. A few bucks cheaper same area, but not refundable hotel Francesca. Breakfast and airport shuttle but it's not refundable. I've spent all morning comparing reviews and locations. I only want walking distance to tivoli. To walk to see the sights. I doubt I'm up to figuring trains out. So far just these few. And the first one I named reviews are 9.4 stars, a bit higher than the others. I got a week to decide, and by then royal will also have airfare and shuttle prices I can compare.

There are differences especially if you drink or purchase the drinking packages. Carnival allows similar wine to be carried on but you can only carry on cans of non alcoholic drinks. Royal allows 12 cans or bottles up to 17 oz. I tried canned water and carried it on carnival and didnt drink it. I only like bottled flavored carbonated water which royal allows. Carnival starts cheers now day 2, used to start when it hit international water. Royal starts their drink package as soon as you board. But does have a limited assortment and 1 texas beer only available in Texas waters. As soon as it hits international water royal puts away the texas stamped liquor and brings out the usual stuff. Carnival just decided forgetaboutit. Royal has lots of sales and I wait for black Friday for excursion sales. I got 30% off last hear, 35 % off the year before, 40% off lunches. A few days back a big sale on drink pkg. Or might be a flash sale on pizza day for Italian restaurants. Carnival few sales. The only excursion sale was if I purchased 14 days of wifi. My last was a journey cruise out of Galveston. Royal has more loyalty perks by far than carnival but you need to hit diamond at 80 pts before they get really good like 4 free drinks daily. Money off, solo discount. A cruise is a cruise and I think carnival does better fast food but for me as a solo higher prices for cruises. Royal does a lot more dynamic pricing. Carnival is pretty much what you see is always rhe price unless it goes up. Much more straight forward. Royal group prices are much better than carnivals, and even 1 person can book a group price. To me it mostly pricing biggest difference. Keep a eye on planner items. Carnival has a fare where you can get pekce drops right up to the end. Royal no fares where after final payment you get price drops. But alas no free included guys burgers.

The same exact room that was 550 euros is now 850 euros. Went up that much for 4 nights since I looked a month or so ago. I guess the lesson is book early. Yes, it's a single room for a solo traveller. Maybe the conversion rate changed by that much? 550 to 850 euros direct? I'll arrive may 26 and flights thru royal arent available until 11 months out is why I waited to decide. 4 nights same dates went up this much? I couldn't decide 4 or 6 nights either and been very busy. I'm kind of not happy it could go up so much.

I'm curious about A/C myself. I've read a few posts hotels in may dont have it turned on. City of rome doesnt allow it turned on until June. Anyone been there in may? I'd like to confirm not only they have A/C but its turned on in may. I think that's one of the hotels I have on my list.

Played bridge and opened and put away a wardrobe box. Easy one to unpack, mostly pillows and blankets like I have no quilts lol. We didnt burn up the bridge tables again today. I bid my suit and she dosnt have them so keeps pushing and pushing. I had 10 high card pts and a 8 card suit, started at 1 2 3 4 before she quit changing suits and let me have the bid. A couple like this where she just is a bit of a bid hog. But shes 95 so whatever. I'm surprised she can still drive herself places and get around at her age and be that sharp. We made plans for next Wednesday and everyone said July 4, sure we still want to play. There is a parade starting from the vets place july 4, and the organizer was afraid parking might be tight. I googled aldi and dollar stores today and also went to Ollie's. Aldi was sold out of bleach and Ollie's usually has shopping carts to buy but all sold out. Also tried that hardware type store I bought a truck like thing for mom but they had nothing but big stuff. So I drove around trying to note where anything interesting was. Stopped to check the price of a pizza place, 22 slices of cheese pizza and a drink lunch special 8.99. I think that's a lot for cheese. Toppings were more and that's just their lunch special price. I want toppings for that price, at least pepperoni. Called my bil daughter today to talk about a few things. He bought this ranger pick up when they got their car totalled by a 18 wheeler. I suggested if her pick up ever goes out he gift her the pick up. And buy a car my sister can get in and out of easier. My sister hates it. Shes 71, with epilepsy almost all the time. And he takes a blind lady to church on sundays with a large seeing eye dog. He turns 86 this year. So bought himself something brand new from the showroom dealer. I'm glad to be moved away. My sister has had balance issues since she was born she had to wear a helmet she fell so much. She fell backwards already off his concrete front steps and hit her head and we worried about brain damage. He was like I told her to use a walker not a cane, not his fault. And she wants to be married, imo she would have married anyone. He could have been a lot worse. I asked, that's all I can do. Offered to pay for another new car. So I toured the area today after bridge looking for a couple of things. Out and about seeing new sights.

I hardly pay attention to themes and just go in and grab a couple of them when I need a couple more. I'm on harmony 4 weeks this oct. Wanted to make it worth my while to fly to houston and back.already had the special 8 day to coco cay lol. Coco cay from texas is a special itinerary. Price got up as high as ovrr 1700 per person but I saw they came down, so added the 6 day and 2 of the 7 days. Me and harmony will be fast friends after 4 weeks. But if we have a Mediterranean night I'll check for them in the WJ. Harmony also does ice cream stand in the far back of WJ. At least 6 maybe 8 toppings, I forget, and all 3 regular flavours of ice cream. I havent see it or the stir fry they have on other ships.

If I wasn't yet pinnacle I'd choose harmony. It's a newer ship than oasis. I thought the cabin lay out for balcony cabins was much nicer than oasis or allure. I have not seen a JS jarmony balcony cabin. If you are flying into hobby which I am this oct for me the drive takes 35 minutes via shuttle ok it could be longer I have a good shuttle service, $80 round trip from hobby, so I'm flying into hobby on sw. I'm now in florida. So flying to texas in oct. I'm staying at holiday inn express near hobby with free breakfast and shuttle. I prefer the la quinta there, its pretty new too and has a continental breakfast but the location is better, nearer the airport. I couldn't find it under $130 so went with holiday inn express, same price as the holiday inn there but the holiday inn no breakfast and older. I'd prefer nearer the airport for noise, the new holiday inn express is right on I45. I know going to hear traffic but breakfast, price and newer won out. I liked the solarium Greek food and baklava and it's a pretty ship. I have done oasis and allure recently and the age difference shows. Just preferred the newer decor in the cabins on harmony over oasis and allure. The closet is moved from behind the bathroom and sofa newer color. Better plug ins and desk for me. I also did rhe D+ cheers with a officer and we had fillet mignon steak. They served those gsrlickynrolls from 150. It was soooooo good. On oasis and allure we got some tougher cut steak I couldn't hardly cut. Oh also so tough I didnt even go the 2nd week. But it changes I'm sure from date to date. We had fabulous lunch. The concierge in crown lounge was even joking must.have been a steak sale so many compliments. Usually pinnacles get the good steak and D+ I keep getting kinda terrible tough steak. I dont care much about the ports and know Galveston enough it would be easier for me. We took a SUV uber not knowing it was 30% higher off oasis and was about $150 one way from Miami. Vs I know a shuttle from hobby for $40. Even if she raises prices still a lot more for shuttle. Junior suite and newer ship, cheaper shuttle prices. Hobby airport for me. Harmony.

I'll keep sneakers in mind though I wasnt worried about my feet. The place I went to on the beach filled with msc cruisers. 2 bldgs. The one with better prices says buy before fall. The bldg is being torn down this fall, those sales prices are only for this summer then the bldg torn down. I just saw that kind of pool noodle in different colors. No thicker ones but I thought I remembered them being thicker. I've thrown many away. I passed every swimming course they used to offer including jr and senior life saving. Jjst wish I could pass the look better in a bathing suit one. Just not sitting around at home has to help I hope. More activity in my life. The guy running the bridge game is stscking chairs and folding card tables. One lady helped him. I can help tomorrow more I said. Hes in a wheelchair with one leg cut off at the knee and others cant stsck up their own chairs? I can help. I dont mind a few extra minutes to help afterward. I walked to the elevators to get a little more of the veterans museum in the picture. My cousin says its a mile to walk around the lake that goes behind the museum. 63 acres. Well I got a late start this morning, ran to the store, grabbed sushi for brunch as I didnt want to go to bridge hungry. It is party bridge. Not what immused to. They play for money. Never played for money prizes lol. But I'm in no danger of winning today. My new partner Claire is 95 years old. She doesnt care if she wins, so it's all good. We didnt do wonderful but she doesnt care. We are playing together again tomorrow as partners. My last partner had alzheimer or one of those getting progressively worse until I finally quit and covid hit about then. She is a improvement over my last partner who kept forgetting previous bids. There are also games at the senior center in rockledge for $4 pp, $3 if I pay to join their senior center. I gave someone my name and phone number if someones sick and calls inland a partner needed. .. now to read all the posts here today and catch up. And I should do another box of unpacking. I had a teeny tiny knife taken away in Galveston last time I went out of texas. I had it in the bottom of my purse and forgotten all about it. Dug it out and handed it over. My brother in law apparently belongs to the NRA and was sent a free knife he gave me. He says he has more, dont worry but i didnt go after the cruise to retrieve it. Maybe 2 to 3 inches long at the most, very very small knife. Blade cant be 2 inches. Tiny knife. Showed up on x ray machine. My bad. This was no where the size of a swiss army knife.

I went to the bbb site and left a review as a 1, cant leave lower. Under complaints this guy says he was ready to take his life after this company scammed him. Their reply was about friends and family to support him and seeking professional help ... this is after using these folks to move. I admit I was deeply saddened to see antiques I'd treasured for 50 years and newer stuff broken, just felt in shock. All this stuff about them disclosing they are a brokerage not a moving company is bs. It was a attachment to a email days later. Read this .. I see I'm not the only one sad about being ripped off and stuff ruined and damaged though I wouldn't take my life.

Oddly enough when I just typed in safe ship the top of the page came up coastal moving who you mentioned. Hmmm. And we went over the inventory twice before they came for pick up but then when they got there packed everything but my bedroom furniture. I'd have left my living room stuff behind rather than my bedroom furniture, but needed another $1500 if I wanted my bed and dresser. I was going to replace my old sofa and arm chair anyway. The lady today said she researched it and I wasnt charged for the box that only had 4 cords. I said how can that be but they didnt have enough room for my vacuum and pole lamp? So they taped them together and put them on the truck. No wonder the vacuum handle arrived in little broken pieces of plastic I cant put back together. Vacuum done for and its not like I need a 6 ft step ladder but it's just plain missing. I could get by with a shorter one. It's my broken antiques I've kept and treasured for the last 50 years I got from some decorators moving to europe. The black lacquer table was over 300 years old when i bought it. I dont know the age of the round mahogany table but its antique and a scratch right in the middle of my mahogany bed headboard. If it wasnt right in the middle and so obvious. A gouge in the foot of marble topped napoleon table. That's the one I see this one guy trying to set the marble on the top alone.,the one piece marked marble extremely fragile napoleon table. And my 2nd triple dresser left setting on its end, 1 of 2 heavy pieces I moved. I'll have to hire 2 guys to set it on its side and unwrap it. A xmas tree the top is bent trash now. Who wants a xmas tree with the top broken hanging down. The way the wrapped my pictures I worried. A oil painting obviously on canvas they taped some reproductions that were in heavy glass from, about 5 pictures taped to the bigger oil painting. I guess I assumed pictures would be packed separately in boxes. These guys I bought it from had a spot light on the blue vase of the painting and said she was a famous texas artist who only painted roses. I have some other valuable paintings smaller I took in my car this oil is quite large. Maybe she is no longer famous but I was aghast they just taped some heavier pictures with glass, quite heavier to it to move my pictures. Clearly they are liars. My heart is broken over the legs broken off my antiques.,delivery guy said my fault I should have paid to have them crated. I dont know about bocce court. I heart the tennis courts are pickle ball these days. Just missed their hours. Ooops and it says closed tomorrow for holiday. Schedule a call back Thursday. Title company called while I was down inquiring about bridge. We funded today, closed, finished. The moving company reached out and I know from experience I'm not going to get much, I settled for $400. Hardly pay for the new 6 ft ladder, a new vacuum etc. I used to live in boca Florida and worked disputes for amex. I maybe could have pushed for another $100 but she offered 300, I said 500 and we agreed on 400. Unless I had insured individual pieces separately they pay damages by weight. Bill of lading says this, i know from doing disputes for other people moving is almost impossible. Me doing a claim and taking pictures and all that I wasnt going to get what the cost was. I'm ready to move on with my new life. A claim for damages by the lb wasnt going to get me what my antiques are worth undamaged. You have to take out insurance on each piece individually. Still 6 of 7 wardrobe boxes to unpack but no hurry. I can't take all the boxes down same week anyway. Small price to pay to live here. So move claim settled and house sold and funded late today. Done and done. Bridge tomorrow. I hope. I see it's a holiday. Couldnt remove utilities from my name, closed until thursday. I also agree 150 the ambience is more upscale than say chops or Giovanni. A little more fancy and dressy feeling.

Playmakers is ala carte, just walk up. I think they are known for their onion ring tower. It's too much to eat for one person but I love good onion rings, if real onion, not minced. They have poke nachos and wings and sliders and truffle fries. That kind of fare. I can get enough for $20. If you have unlimited I think they allow $20 per person so it's better maybe for a couple or share one sitting and then share a 2nd sitting depending how much you can eat at once. It doesnt take much to fill me up. Anyone can eat at 150. I too had the lobster thermidor. I liked it the dessert I was so so about. Seems like something marshmallow type idk. But it wasnt memorial but I liked everything else.

Yes I'm firefly. I went to the tail end of the water aerobics class, got involved in a discussion with the mgmt co of my oceanfront condo they manage. The teacher had to leave a bit early, class from 9 to 10 am Tues and Thursday. Chair yoga tomorrow. I have a goal of meeting new people and getting back in shape. One of the ladies said she thought they played bridge down at the veterans museum, the next bldg after mine. 1130 to 3 pm on Wednesday so for sure I will be there. No one knew what kind of bridge, I prefer duplicate but I'll do party bridge I'm so desperate to play some bridge. Tomorrow! Crossing fingers a new comer is welcome, without a partner. I cant wait. That place that has tacos john was always on about (sandbar sports grill) I promised myself tonight. Its across from Ron Jon's that surf place. Pay parking until 5 pm so i can wait for 5 pm. John says i can sneak and park free at the pizza inn but idk, maybe tonight wait for 5 pm and decide. I need a swim noodle for water aerobics class. I'll look around on my way to tacos. I'm down to 2 dish packs. Full of little tiny mostly cruise stuff I'm not sure what to do with. I have a hall closet I cant get the doors open eventually maybe there, but these 2 boxes are really hard to figure out where to put stuff. So 2 dish pack half empty boxes and 6 wardrobe boxes left to go. I didnt get much unpacking done today. I hope bridge welcomes newcomers and everyone not already paired up. High hopes. I love to play bridge. Honestly I think this place is perfect for me. All the ladies in the water aerobics about my age. Youngest maybe 60 up to maybe 80? But most here are older. I meet one lady who said she was 90. Lol. Quite a few have pets. I still think this was a perfect choice for me no matter how hard moving is. Next quest a noodle for the pool. I went back thru the library here, and found 2 J A Jance books I dont think I've read. One of my favourite authors. The library is quite a good selection of books. I think this is better than I could have hoped.
