  1. I found a couple of straw bales today. Much better the stuff I got last time. Right after laying it in the raised beds a storm rolled in. YES RAIN! I really don't remember the last time it rained. Now I need to give my garlic a fertilization soak and get it planted by tomorrow evening.
  2. It's been awhile since we were in Bermuda. Really enjoyed it. I remember getting back to the ship and while we were in the room ESPN was showing a sailing race. Really wasn't paying attention to it. After we went out we noticed many looking off the side. It was the race that was on ESPN. I heard Bermuda was dropping test requirements but waiting until the cruise ships slow down. We will be visiting Aruba for the 1st time and doing the UDP for the 1st. It been 10 years since being to Curacao too. Last weeks live said they expected starlink will be done on 2 weeks. So that might make it interesting. I can't get my hopes up to much for Starlink.
  3. +2 I have never heard anyone being turned down like that. You can get different answers. It stinks to be put on hold and then get a bad answer.
  4. When the pics are taken they are all thrown into one catch all folder. If by the end of each day after you post the pics you want to post, you can move all to that day folder. That way you start new and don't have to wade through old pics. If you need an old pic it's easier to find. I usually name like Day 1 ft Laud Day 2 at sea Day 3 Aruba If one day a bunch of pics I might add Day 3 Aruba Eagle Beach. I am considering a Live review next week. Once you have fun doing one it's hard not to do it again. I especially enjoy sharing with everyone here.
  5. Good points. Our big reason we consider driving is the uncertainty of flights. After being stranded in Miami last October and going through that it adds to the stress of flying. We would never consider flying in the day of a cruise anymore. We booked early flights for Friday so if the flight gets canceled we can still make a longgggg drive to fort Lauderdale. Wow, that would be bad.
  6. What a mixture of emotions you will experience. I am sorry about your beloved mom. I will be thinking of you. So sorry Lenny. Time to get a new doctor. You need one that is compassionate. 8 hours and 36 minutes sounds a lot better than 12 hours. I will be interested in adding up the cost fill ups and food and see how it compares to flying. I think it will still be cheaper driving but flying from KC is only a couple of hours. Is that 12 hours map time. I am sure it would take at least 10 for us. We would probably drive until we were about 2 hours out, spend the night and drive the rest in the morning. The last big drive we made was to Venice FL. 15 hours straight. 😳 You mentioned your concern of the size of pictures on the new phone. On Samsung it is quick and easy to downsize the pic in edit. Not sure about iphones but worth checking. Also consider setting up folders for each day now before you leave. It makes it easier to keep up when doing a live.
  7. Thanks so much! All the GKs are a blessing. Kenzie, Albrey and Caden spent last night with us. They are playing Uno with Shashey now. So fun. I forgot to tell what happened a couple weekends ago. The whole family went to watch Zander play football. Finnley dressed for the occasion. Kenzie was hanging with her cousins. They told Kenzie to ask Gpa about ifly, A couple days later she was at the house. Gpa, come in here. Gpa, is this like iFly? It's not on the ground...... Like this? Legs up more..... Like this? Yes, that's it! The cousins said you can give iFLY rides. Well.... Come on Gpa, let's do it!
  8. It's 574 miles and says 8 hours and 36 minutes. The cost to fly or drive is not much different. When we fly out of LR we spend the night before at our DD's house and then our SIL drops us off at the airport. Don't have to deal with parking. I just noticed I was editing when you were responding. Right now we plan to fly. We were considering driving.
  9. We have not decided to fly or drive for our January Galveston cruise. Lately we have been leaning towards flying.
  10. Nice video. Noticed some of the dry waterfalls in the video. That guy sure has a fun occupation.
  11. There are a lot of waterfalls in that 1st pic. I bet that was a fun ride.
  12. I basically just listed the 3 main shows so it would help us plan our specialty restaurants around them. I hope you can read it. I just snapped a pic off the iPad.
  13. It's hard to fine the right words for someone that is going through such a hard time. You are a person with a good heart to be willing to help through such a heavy load. I pray that the help you are now getting helps ease that load. Thanks for sharing. It is good to see you back.
  14. I have heard that about the steak and plan to have one there. Can you also order a pasta dish along with a steak?
  15. We liked Wonderland but it is not for everyone. I don't do Playmakers so I didn't notice it missing. Having the UDP next week, I did notice Allure is missing it. If Allure had Playmakers I would be trying the food there. Symphony had free Mexican and I did not like it. I liked the CK breakfast and lunch. Didn't bother eating dinner there. Had a bad dinner on Symphony at CK so we skipped Harmony. They had a great place to watch the NCAA football Championship game!
  16. We will be trying out Giovanni’s next week. We did Jamie's a couple times and I didn't care for it. The others I cruised with liked it the 1st cruise but we were all disappointed the second time.
  17. I was checking out Harmony out of Galveston and unless I overlooked every 7 day cruise is the same itinerary. I actually think it's the same ports we are going to on Allure in January. I am not ruling it out yet. Sometimes we just want to cruise no matter what ports.
  18. I basically like Oasis class ships for the entertainment and the specialty restaurants. The 1st time we did Harmony it was new. We did Harmony last January and it is still doing great. I was highly considering a Harmony 8 day for January but the prices for an OVB jumped pretty high. I had our TA friend check out all the Oasis class ships for January and the Allure out of Galveston was hard to pass on. We will also be boarding Allure this Saturday. Remind me and I will try to let you know if I see big differences in the two.
  19. We have another couple that cruise with us out of the time and we do the same thing. For others note that you do not have to be sharing the same cabin to do it this way.
  20. Are you saying Harmony is going out of Galveston at the end of 2023? Looks like I need to check it out. We love cruising Harmony.
  21. I also keep a ladder in the garden. 😆 My OT daughter that works at a nursing home is not too thrilled about the ladder but loves tomatoes... 🤔
  22. Only the far end is 3 high. The other is 2 and buried some. Our property is sloped so I have to build up one side to level it out. The shallow end is about 12 to 14 inches deep. Yes it takes extra dirt but I had now choice. The end with 3 stacked is actually harder to work. When the tomatoes grow over 8 feet tall there is almost an extra 2 feet to reach up so to get to the higher tomatoes I have to step up on the blocks and balance on them to reach. I made them out of blocks because wood got so costly it cost about the same to use block. The blocks will last so much longer. I also like the holes in the blocks. I grow basil and marigolds in them. It is a lot harder to build with blocks because you have to be so careful to keep it level all the way around.
