    Where to eat crab

So, are there other places to get Dungeness in Vancouver???? I doubt that we'll go to Granville Island, but will be staying near Canada Place for several days pre and post cruise (yes, we really enjoyed our stay in Vancouver last year, so booked another cruise for this year)
  2. That looks like a significant improvement from the menu we had about 4 years ago. At that time, it was an OK experience, but I wouldn't have made an effort to attend again. This looks interesting. Thanks for asking the question.
  3. Note that fresh squeezed OJ and Mimosas are complimentary when in a Neptune Suite. We've only been in the Club Orange dining room on the three Pinnacle Class ships, and Cappuccino was also complimentary there, so it may also be in other classes.
  4. FYI-----we've been able to use the drink voucher for other drinks besides the special one (within a certain price cap), so you're not obligated to drink something that doesn't sound like something you'd enjoy.
  5. You can check FCCs/FCDs under "My Profile" on your Holland account on line. There's an expiration date---- the ones I bought 11/22 don't expire until 11/26
  6. I couldn't see this either and was having a LOT of trouble with the website a few hours ago. I Iogged out and tried again and finally could see Prepaid Crew Appreciation at the end of the booking . But it's taken all day.
  7. Have checked several times this morning and when I book an Alaskan cruise for next summer that is labeled "Black Friday", nothing shows up about pre-paid gratuities. Have tried both the Cruise Only and HIA fares. By the way, the price is slightly lower than in the past weeks, but that lower price was visible a few days ago, so no further price change.
  8. AND, a Rexall drug store in the same place.
  9. Yes!!!! Especially since the balcony has the only regular size table that's comfortable to eat on (but we "make-do" with the coffee table for dinner). Unlimited laundry is our favorite---we can pack much less. The concierges are very very helpful, and we don't have to stand in line at Guest Services. They can even assist with some internet/computer issues. Tea or appetizers before dinner is quite nice. If you have a beverage package, you can get soda, water, and some simple alcoholic drinks in the Neptune Lounge and sign for them. The complimentary tea in the Lounge is excellent, as well as the coffee/capuccino/espresso machine. We ask for a large paper cup and get it 'to go'. The snacks in the Lounge apparently are different on different ships, but on the 3 largest ships we have excellent shrimp cocktail at lunch and tasty little sandwiches (the same every day, but still tasty). Enjoy!
  10. The price I see for a Neptune is $12,324 per person, before taxes/port charges and noOBC. Don't think that works for me.
  11. The airport is about 10" from the port and there's always been a line of cabs. We usually don't leave the cabin until 9 and have always been at the airport before 10 (having used luggage direct, so we don't have to deal with suitcases).
  12. I just canceled a cruise two days ago and the FCD was returned to my Mariner account as a FCD within 24 hours.
  13. No hot foods until 11 or 11:30 and none after 8 PM
  14. Thanks so much for your experience and insight!
  15. We had such a wonderful cruise and visit to Vancouver this June that we want to do it again next year and see more of the city. Are we nuts to consider a cruise that would involve spending several days in Vancouver over Canada Day? Would you do it?? I found info on this year's activities at Canada Place and it looks like the Pan Pacific is right in the heart of the action. A good thing??? Or crazy chaotic?? We wouldn't plan to be out and about on on the actual day, but didn't know about the days before and after. Since July 1 is on a Monday in 2024, the days before are the weekend, and I know there was more activity on the weekend in that area when we were there. Thanks!
  16. I have been confused about the hours for food, also. If I remember, hot food isn't available until 11 am. It's very popular, but I've been pleasantly surprised a FEW times to find a very short line when I expected it to be busier......and 10 minutes later there were 15 people in line. Things do run out. And even thought it says it's open until 9 pm, that was just for beverages. Food wasn't served after 8 pm.
  17. We used Legacy Limosine Service last month and plan to use them again. They picked us up at the front door of the Pan Pacific Hotel, Canada Place. They were recommended to us and we were very satisfied.
  18. I started buying the premium internet in advance of the cruise, based on what I'd read on this board. It's less expensive to purchase it in advance, and ended up being just a little more than surf.
  19. I forgot to add that there were also 2 other ships in port that day. Perhaps the "beginning of a new season" challenges have been worked out.
  20. We boarded a month ago. Started the walk in the convention center at 10:30 and were sitting down before 11 am. It seemed to go very well.
  21. We just did Vancouver to Glacier Bay/Juneau/Skagway/Ketchican round trip and saw no whales from the ship(and spent a lot of time on the balcony). My husband thought he saw a fin at a distance. He talked me out of booking a whale watching trip because "we'd see them from the ship", but that didn't happen. We plan to go back and will spend time in Vancouver because we loved it so much, so am glad to hear the suggestion about an excursion there.
  22. We just stayed there before and after our June cruise, and plan to go back next year. It was incredibly convenient and the staff were WONDERFUL. In the 3 months before the cruise, I rebooked several times, as there were 'special offers'. I joined their loyalty club and automatically got 10% discount. Keep checking the rate. No need to book their package that includes luggage transfer to the ship-----anyone can use this service (a tip is expected). We got a harbor view room and loved to watch seaplanes and the ships come in and out. Our ship was literally right below our room. To board, just take hotel elevator to bottom floor and go into convention center. Follow the signs and people will direct you. The food seemed pricey, but there's other reasonable options---- an underground foodcourt that is accessed from the bottom floor (McDonald's, Tim Horton's, multiple types of Asian food, a good burger/milk shake place, and a Rexall drug store). There's also another convention center building next door that has some quick service food on ground level, including one that made very tasty chicken burritos. AND Breka Bakery is about 3 blocks away and has incredible sweets and sandwiches......... it's also near the Aubergine Hotel, which I strongly considered. One of the Fairmont hotels is right across the street, so would also be very convenient. (and full service restaurants are within a few blocks)
  23. Thanks for the feedback. We booked the cruise this year 3 months out and couldn't get some of the excursions, so would really like to be able to plan ahead for the next cruise. I'll keep checking, and we're considering the following week.
  24. Would anyone have an idea why there are NO Neptune Suites (well, I should say there is one Neptune Spa suite, which we don't want) available on the June 15, 2024 Koningsdam cruise out of Vancouver to Alaska???? My first thought was a partial charter, but would a charter take ALL the NSs? We just got back from doing this cruise and want to go again, and LOVED Vancouver, and would really like that date. There's plenty of availability on the 6/22 cruise, but that would have us back in port 6/29. We wanted to spend several days enjoying more of Vancouver, and figured it would be more crowded and busy with Canada Day on July 1. I've been looking at this cruise for a week, and no NSs on deck 7 show up.........I've also checked a variety of other travel booking sites. This is really a Luxury Problem 🙂
