  1. What I think the poster is saying is that there is a Terrace Cafe table at the top of that stairway. Maybe if you’re sitting at that table, you can see clearly down the stairs to the wake of the ship. In any case, my husband and I love to dine outdoors there.
  2. I agree wholeheartedly. A couple of years ago, I was on X and they have an app they want passengers to use aboard ship. No way am I going to carry a cell phone around all day on deck! No, I'm not a Luddite...I have a Masters degree in Computer Science. Just my preference for a relaxing vacay.
  3. Thanks for posting, mauibabes. The ship looks lovely. I especially like the fully-covered Terrace. Now I have to get down to business and book her!
  4. Sometimes I cringe when I read snarky comments. What purpose do they serve? There is so much great information on these boards. Thanks, mexicobob, for the review.
  5. Yes, I checked with my BCBS plan too, and they do cover international medical expenses. I supplement it with the GeoBlue annual plan.
  6. Yes, here's their website: www.geobluetravelinsurance.com/
  7. I get it. O is a very quiet, laid-back experience, and I understand that's not everyone's vibe.
  8. @DCGuy64, I'm always curious when O is compared to NCL Haven. Although I've never cruised with NCL, it seems like such a disconnect to me. Perhaps one can compare the "egalitarian" dining options of O vs the exclusive Haven options, but - for us - the size of the NCL ships is a major factor to consider. I think our main reason for finding and sticking with O is their smaller ships. Is that not an issue for you?
  9. Although we didn't need it, we were in an "accessible" cabin on another cruise line, and we loved it. It was much larger than other cabins in the same category. The bathroom was very large - large enough to accommodate a wheelchair. It had a large walk-in shower. Of course, that was a different line, ship, etc., so who knows what Vista's is like.
  10. We flew into Bridgetown some years ago for a cruise. Easy airport. There are PLENTY of hotels, small and large. You can take a cab to the cruise terminal from any hotel. Enjoy!
  11. My thoughts exactly! The world is my oyster, and I'm hungry!
  12. Last: Marina,Dec2022 Carib Next: Insignia Jan2024 L.A. to AUK Then: Insignia Aug2024. LON to NYC Looking at HongKong to Bali in 2025
  13. Yo Fishtown! Nice to meet you. We've got a place in downtown St. Pete. Your second transpacific....clearly, you really enjoyed the first one. I'm hoping it lives up to my expectations of long, relaxing sea days interspersed with dreamy tropical islands and soft sand beaches.

  15. Thanks for bringing us along on your lovely voyage. Our next sail is in January on Insignia from L.A. to Auckland....our longest voyage ever. We're so looking forward to it. We love the smaller ships.
  16. I've used the Catalonia chain of hotels all over Spain. Clean and reasonably priced. There are a few in Barcelona; we stayed at the Catalonia Catedrale near Las Ramblas.
  17. I used to be able to see all available cabins by category on *****, but it seems they don't allow that anymore. Now, you have to fake a booking. I'd love to hear of other sites/options.
  18. Lisa, we're on the same cruise as you - Celebrity Edge. Looking forward to it.
  19. I'm resurrecting this thread to ask: is it possible to take public transportation from the Rocks area hotels to Bondi Beach? We'll just visit for a couple of hours for a quick swim.
