  1. Personally I think it may be difficult for crew to convert the money. They are not members of local banks. Now if they are cruising in Canada during the summer they could use the CD for shopping etc. As Ruth said check with Guest Services and see if they could assist.
  2. Just arrived Lima on a beautiful day. Passed the fishing fleet and parked next to us is Seabourn Quest which we were on last October. Gourmet food tour tonight in Mina.
  3. At lunch yesterday for an appetizer they gave us these corn kernels with a very spicy dipping sauce. Nice and crunchy and tasty. Naturally in Peru one is offered Pisco Sours and these were the best we have ever had.
  4. Good morning. Waking up a little ship movement on our daily g to Lima. We arrive around noon and will overnight there. Tomorrow we start our journey West and hopefully be able to visit Easter Island. it was breezy and a little cool at our outdoor deck Buffett and entertainment.Went back to cabin and got sweaters and we were fine. Today’s pictures are of the ancient city of Cha Cha and the Temple of Moon and Sun.. Huge well intact ruins of the Moche civilization who resided at these sites from 900-1400 AD before the Incas. I slept in this morning so in need of coffee and my energizer drink. Thanks for the Report and featured post. Bruce
  5. Quite the day. We visited the ancient city of Chan Chan home of the Moche. Huge ruins and very preserved. The Moche resided here from 900 until 1,400 AD until Incas took over. Then we had lunch at the beach. Pisco Sours followed by a huge plate of ceviche. Very good. Then we visited more Moche ruins the Temple of the Moon and Sun Very well preserved. The Temple is huge. Will post pics tomorrow. Right now camera is charging. Tonight another dinner poolside, some Peruvian Cultural entertainment followed by our guest guitarist Emilio Valle. We are 240 nautical miles from Lima and we will be arriving around noon tomorrow. Trujillo is a large city and this area is very desert like. They only get a major rain if there is an El Nina weather system. Shockingly they have not head any major rain since 2017! Have a great evening.
  6. It’s 6:45 AM and we are arriving in Salliverry, Peru. Looks like a beautiful day to see ancient ruins and terrain. Little hazy but those mountains are beautiful. @JazzyVWe’ll soon find out if you kind photo tips work. Thank you again. Quick coffee and bite and early tour. Have a great day everyone. Bruce
  7. I went to Photo Shop to inquire what is wrong with posting my photos on CC and was told it was internet. Strange to me that I can post everywhere else, do Face Time watch Prime and Neflix etc. I’m not the best at tech but will pursue. I believe I may have a wrong setting somewhere on new I phone.
  8. I do know Aqualina was closed on White Night.
  9. Just want to personally thank you for all your contributions to our Daily. Hope your feeling better.
  10. Good morning. It’s our last sea day on this leg as we reach Salaverry, Peru where we are going to visit archeological sites. Lima will follow and that will be an overnight. Then we start heading West with several sea days and hopes that we can visit Easter Island. They say about a fifty-fifty chance. We have two days there to succeed Today we have a chefs cooking demo at 11:00 and the afternoon is loaded with lectures. Right now as I’m looking at a new day breaking it appears a little cloudy outside. Having coffee delivered to cabin this morning and it should be here any moment. The fish BBQ poolside was so good that last night’s dinner was salad and soup. Every night there is a different culinary theme as an option from regular menus in MDR (Discovery) and what we refer to as Lido which is called Windows on this ship. Last night’s theme was Indonesia. So there are lots of opportunities to experience different culinary experiences. Our singer and dancers put on a great show last night. Tonight the ships orchestra has a show titled Big Band Era and that will be followed by a show by our Cruise Director Eric. Our Star Link WiFi was good enough yesterday we were able to attend our church online service and did two Face Time with children and grandchildren. Enough rambling. Thanks to all for the post and thanks to Martin Luther King of whom we honor today. Have a great week. Bruce
  11. I was amiss about Emilio Valle. Turns out he was a guest entertainer. He has one more show. Can’t wait.
  12. The fresh grilled fish luncheon is soon to begin. The Weber charcoal is letting everyone know that someone in the neighborhood is barbecuing. Pool deck lined with tables with white linens. We just crossed the equator. Lunch then ceremony. As usual pics don’t post here on CC only. All other media fine Wi Fi is good we were able to watch our church online services.
  13. Onward will cross the equator around noon today and King Neptune is scheduled to hold court. In Panama City the chefs visited the local seafood market and today’s lunch will be grilled seafood BBQ around the patio. Last night after a lovely meal in Aqualina we were entertained by the orchestra’s lead guitarist Emilio Varra. Did the classics from guitarist legends such as Santana, Clapton and Berry. It was a wow show. Shows the depth of talent onboard. WeFi has been good. We have the advanced connection and we have faced time and watched video. Life is great on the World Voyage.
  14. Good morning. We will be crossing the Equator around noon today. Seems strange to me we are still on Eastern time. King Neptune will head court around one thirty. Another sea day tomorrow as we sail to Salaverry, Peru. We dined in Aqualina our Italian themed specialty restaurant last night. We followed that with going to see Amilio Valle the ships lead guitarist. Kirk told me he had been on the former Amsterdam World Cruise. He was a fantastic musician and did some classics from Santana, Clapton, Berry etc. it was a wow performance. Back in Panama City they went to the main fish market and purchased fresh fish. Today lunch will feature grilled fish. More lectures today and a power walk and most likely a nap. Ships singer and dancers return with a show called Crooners. It’s time for my morning energizer shot of various blends of ginger and fruits then Coffee Americano or Latte. Either our stowaway bird moved to new location or made a very bad decision. YesI remember the original Today show with Dave and Jack. Thanks Jacqui for getting us started and to all who make the Daily a daily routine. Bruce
  15. We enjoyed our morning lectures by our Naturalist Nigel on Hummingbirds and another on geology, climate and earthquakes. Now enjoying a leisurely after noon outdoors on the partial promenade and its soft cushioned sun loungers. They tend to induce naps. our stowaway rare bird I forgot what Nigel Marven called it but it’s drawn a lot of attention and pics. Even our Captain came down to photograph. Tomorrow at 1:30 we’ll be introducing the Pollywags as we cross the equator. Beautiful day on a smooth ocean. We love our sea days.
  16. Our first White Night had the ship rocking with not waves but dancing and guest enjoying the evening. Due to weather the entertainment was held in Cabaret. The buffet was outstanding as usual. We will have our Equator Crossing Pollywogs celebration at 1:30 tomorrow afternoon. The morning started off with gray skies and intermittent rain but it is now clearing with smoothing sea. Nigel our Naturalist is busily pointing out wildlife, pods of dolphins and one rare bird is hitching a ride with us to Peru. Even the Captain came down to see and photo our stowaway. Life on Onward is pretty much perfect. Have a good day.
  17. Good morning. Thought I would stop in and say hi before headed out for coffee. We are on our first sea day of three heading for Peru. Very smooth ride this morning. Our pool side White Night got moved indoors due to weather. No problem. The food choices at the buffet were huge as usual. Try and eat lightly at these and there are many vegetables and healthier options. Haven’t read The Insider yet to see our choices but I’m sure there will be some great lectures and many other options. Finishing the book I’m reading is one option. The entertainment part of White Night was moved into Cabaret (Show Room) and the ship was rocking. Most folks dressed in white and the dance floor was jammed packed. White ballon’s flying all over and the orchestra and entertainer performed non stop from 8:30 until 10.00 PM. The ships dancer’s dancing with guest. Goes to prove us older folks still know how to boogie. I’ll be slowing down on MeMe’s as I’m busier and don’t have as much time to search and to follow others and not duplicate. Posting photos on CC has been mixed. One photo downloads another doesn’t. I have no problem on other media sites. Coffee calls. Thanks for the Report and have a great weekend. Bruce
  18. We had a wonderful excursion today in Panama City. We visited the 1550 archeological ruins of the original city and its museum. Then we went to La Fonda Restaurant were we went to cooking school and helped creat our own lunch of fried bread, plantains, fish and sweet plantains. Local beer a lager was offered. The skyscrapers and skyline are tall and dramatic. The Panama Canal is only 5 per cent of their economy. It is a major financial hub. Time to get ready for White Night. I have no clue why certain photos are not printing.
  19. Just a short thank you for the Daily and Report.. We have an early walking tour in Panama. Wearing same clothes I wore at last night’s dinner in the city as our clothing will be soaked in this heat and humidity. Tonight is Azamara’s trademark White Night. Large poolside BBQ and Buffet followed by all the entertainers and orchestra who get the pool deck rocking Just about everyone wears all white clothing. Lot of dancing. Got to get ready for our sweat tour. Have a great day. Bruce
  20. We are presently enjoying viewing our transit from our Verandha which is in the shade with a lite breeze. Gatun Lake is in view and one more lock and we will be there. Thanks for today’s report and enjoy the rest of your day. I stand corrected that cruise ship ahead of us is Silver Seas Mariner. Bruce
