  1. Thanks! We will be in 9358 in October and found this helpful. While the balcony is not private, it certainly looks spacious. I like the cabin layout with the bed set back in a semi-bedroom with space near the bed where we can probably park the scooter. I will report back how we liked this cabin after our cruise.
  2. Yes, that's exactly what I was wondering about. Thanks for the photo!
  3. That would be great! Have a fun cruise with your folks!
  4. Thanks @dides. I was aware that the cabins on deck 10 above could look down into the cabana balconies below. I was actually wondering if passengers in the sphere could see into all of the balcony, or if there was a white barrier right next to the cabana area blocking a small portion of the balcony from view. I should have been more specific. I don't know if I would also be lucky enough that someone staying in 9361 or 9358 could post photos of those cabins inside and out.
  5. If anyone could post pictures of the accessible cabana mini suite 9358 or 9361 that would be appreciated. Trying to determine if any part of the balcony is private or not and what is the view of that balcony from the Dome. Thanks.
  6. We really enjoyed both Steamers and Planks on the Caribbean Princess. We called the dine line to make reservations the day we boarded. Although both venues are located in the back section of the buffet, they were set up to have more of a dining room feel. They had limited staff to run these casual dining restaurants, so only a small number of reservations were booked. I saw a number of people turned away despite many empty tables. Be sure to book early!
  7. We are in an accessible C2 cabin in October. Am interesting in hearing how crowded the cabana deck is at various times. Also would like to see how private (or not private) our balcony is that wraps around the end just outside the sphere. Thanks and have a wonderful cruise.
  8. We have cruised twice on the Caribbean Princess in the accessible window suite. Very spacious room. The staff and fellow passengers were great. During the day we easily navigated the ship. In the evening the piazza was crowded so we found entertainment options in quieter locations like the Wheelhouse Bar or Movies Under the Stars.
  9. Just got back and wanted to post our experience. At 9:30 a.m. I dropped off DH with his scooter at terminal 21 and our 1 large suitcase with a porter. I told the porter my plans to drive to the parking garage for terminal 2 and she very nicely told me to watch for the white vans run by USA. After parking at the Heron lot I went down to the 1st floor of the garage and asked a port employee about the shuttle and he said there weren't any. He pointed me to a long taxi line and an even longer Uber line. I got in the taxi line and 5 minutes later a white van (not labeled) pulled up and let passengers out. I noticed the driver had USA on her shirt and went over and explained my situation. She was going back to terminal 21 to drive more disembarking passengers from there to terminal 2 and agreed to take me. What a relief! The traffic was so bad it took 25 minutes to get there. So from start to finish my DH waited about 1 hour for my return. When we finished the cruise we were in our car by 7:30 a.m. headed home. So glad we took care of the inconvenient part at the beginning of the cruise.
  10. The Port Everglades scheduled was just updated. Caribbean Princess will be embarking from terminal 21.
  11. I saw that on the Port Everglades schedule, but then I received an email from Princess stating that the Caribbean would be at Pier 21. I will be sure to check the billboards as we enter the Port. Thanks for the good wishes.
  12. Thanks. That seems like a workable solution. I'm sure I could find the taxi stand, but where are the garage shuttles located?
  13. I just got notification that on January 7th Caribbean Princess will be embarking from terminal 21. Per the port schedule we will be disembarking from terminal 2. This creates a few special challenges to me as my DH uses a mobility scooter. We are used to dropping off our luggage then parking at the Heron parking garage where he is able to ride over to the terminal and then easily walk back to the car upon our return. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance!
  14. My DH can also walk short distances (with my help for balance) and he takes his mobility scooter onboard. It is very comfortable and easy to drive. At the dining room he drives up to the table and after he is seated the staff drives the scooter away. They happily bring it back to him when we are done eating. At the lounges we generally find a wall to park against and he walks to a seat. At Crooners he walks into the lounge leaving the scooter against the railing separating the lounge from the hallway. I hope you will find the solution that works best for you. Enjoy your accessible mini suite!
  15. Thanks for your review! I have friends at Amber Cove today that stated they were asked to pay $70 for an umbrella by the pool, but the chairs were free. This sounds out of line. Do you remember how much you were charged?
  16. You can make reservations for casual dining after boarding the ship. Try calling the dine line or going to Steamers or Planks when they open the first night (likely at 5 p.m.). These two dining options operate on alternating nights and both are located in the World Fresh Marketplace, aft. We tried both earlier this month and enjoyed them very much.
  17. Embarkation night was Planks, second night was Steamers. I'm not sure I'd recommend the way I got the reservations. At noon on embarkation day I went up to Steamers and spoke to two waiters who told me to call the dine line. I explained the dine line doesn't answer so they tried and no answer. Just then a manager arrived and was told my issue. He proceeded to call direct lines that we passengers don't know and after about 7 tries he got someone on the phone that took my reservation. I heard on a different post of someone that went to the Planks desk when they opened at 5 p.m. and made reservations that way. I think I will give that a try on my next cruise.
  18. On our recent cruise on the Caribbean Princess we tried both Planks and Steamers. Both venue's were very busy and fully reserved early in the cruise unless you wanted to dine at 8 p.m. Diners were not seated at all tables because there were only 3 waiters and 1 assistant. The same staff worked both options as Steamers and Planks were open on alternative days. We found the food and service to be very good at both restaurants. I did note that the plank entree at Planks included your choice of 2 meats (not 3 as shown in an older menu on this thread). The plank was huge and the meat portions generous. The steam pot at Steamers was large and try as I might I could not finish it. We would definitely go to both of these casual dining options again and even if we didn't have the plus package I personally felt it was worth the $14.99 upcharge.
  19. Yes, I had the exact same issue for 4 days. Called customer service and after they offered to upgrade my booking to Premier or book a spa treatment for me, they fixed it! I am now green lane and the medallions will be mailed to me.
  20. Absolutely agree that a handicap accessible room as close to an elevator as possible is helpful. Getting past the room stewards carts in the hallways is challenging and the carts are out much of the day and evening. Most people are very courteous on the elevators. If a partly full elevator opened we would always wave them on and wait for the next one. We're usually not in too much of a hurry.
  21. Interesting observations! We have a reserve class cabana suite booked for next fall on the Sun and am looking forward to having a private dining area. We just got off the Caribbean Princess last week and never had to wait to be seated in the reserve section of the MDR. We went to dinner each evening at about 6:15 or 6:30 so maybe that is a bit on the early side.
  22. The PES on Caribbean Princess is quite nice. It's held in Skywalkers Lounge with beautiful views and very attentive staff. Also I liked the snack buffet at PES better than pre covid, with many small plates set up to choose from instead of people reaching in and taking a portion from a dish (such as shrimp cocktail). When I was on last week the only elevator to access Skywalkers was the aft elevator on the left hand side. The middle ones don't go that high.
  23. I went and looked at deck 6 to the Princess Theatre and found no access. To access the theatre on Deck 7 there is a ramp in the middle between the port and starboard normal entrances. Once you go up the ramp you can turn left or right to find ADA seating. I would usually take a quick peek and advise my DH which way to head.
  24. Hello! My DH and I just got off the Caribbean Princess on our first cruise with him using his mobility scooter. I'm happy to report that all went well and the tips I got prior to the cruise from the CC community were so helpful. We parked at the port, dropping off our one large suitcase before driving in to the parking structure. We parked on deck 3 and then used the deck 5 overpass to get to the terminal. The staff took us through a handicap accessible line and made embarkation very easy. On board we were able to use the elevators with ease. My DH would set back a way until I was in the elevator pressing the door open button, then he would pull straight in. The other passengers were so understanding and we had to wait for a 2nd elevator only a few times. Dining rooms were fine as my DH drove right to the table and the staff would then park it elsewhere for the duration of the meal. The lounges took a little more work, finding a spot to park the scooter, but we would go 15 minutes prior to a game show or other event. Princess theatre has limited handicap seating on deck 7, but we went 30 minutes early where my DH would occupy a seat and I would sit in the row in front of him to save the handicap seats for those that really needed it. We spent lots of time on deck 7 outdoors and also at the pool on port days. Each day we played cards in Club Fusion (coolest temperature on the ship) and went to Skywalkers for the Elite lounge. All in all a very successful trip which we plan on repeating in January. Let me know if you have any questions.
