  1. Appears that after June 2025, this change will affect Marina and Riviera. If you do a mock booking, and click on "view deck plan" it will show on the PDF "after 2025"
  2. Thank you for your observations. We are glad we switched to an aft cabin.
  3. We decided to move to an aft cabin on deck 8. On another platform I read a current passenger's trip report- he is sailing on Nova now in an aft cabin and there has been ZERO vibration or added movement. No smells either. He highly recommends them. (I would surmise that the white space is a crew area) to be avoided due to noise and traffic.
  4. If you prefer to stay in Southampton several days pre cruise, I recommend the Southampton Harbour Hotel. https://www.harbourhotels.co.uk/southampton/rooms We have visited London several times and decided to travel straight to Southampton upon arrival at Heathrow.
  5. when are you travelling? I will ask for your feedback post trip. This cruise is not until 2025
  6. selected the non connecting one
  7. Our TA switched us to an aft cabin on deck 8. We are glad to have made the switch as we've always wanted to reserve an aft cabin but they were never available. Thank you for your feedback.
  8. I posted the same question on another site and most of the feedback was that we should stay mid-ship, due to motion. My take on this is that the motion depends on where the ship is sailing, rough seas, etc. We have been in rough seas before and though we've never been in an aft cabin, we've been close and never experienced any issues. Have always wanted to book an aft cabin and we're leaning toward changing. We are now on deck 8 and the cabin we're looking at is also on deck 8.
  9. We have used Luggage Free and they allow airtags. The FAA officially confirmed to The Points Guy that AirTags are safe and legal to be placed in checked luggage. "Luggage tracking devices powered by lithium metal cells that have 0.3 grams or less of lithium can be used on checked baggage," the FAA said. "Apple AirTags meet this threshold; other luggage tracking devices may not.
  10. We have booked an Alaskan cruise for 2025 on Nova. We selected a mid-ship location but I see there are aft cabins available on decks, 6, 8 and 9. Does anyone have feedback(positive and negative) if you have recently sailed, or are on the ship now in relation to movement, noise, etc. There is also white space adjacent to the area (assuming this is a crew area) which we typically avoid. Thank you Leta
  11. The transfer would be from Anchorage to Seward. We are leaning towards travelling to Seward and staying there one night- but we have time to decide.
  12. Hello, We booked our first Silversea cruise to Alaska and the fare includes the motorcoach transfer to the ship. We typically fly into the departure location two days pre cruise and were originally planning on staying only 1 night in Anchorage,(at a bed and breakfast), then taking a bus to Seward for 1 night, then boarding the following day. I have read that SS no longer mails luggage tags in advance and that passengers who have the transfer and are not staying at the SS hotel register at the convention center. Does anyone have experience with this? Would we receive luggage tags at the convention center? Thank you Leta
  13. Our travel agent just booked us on Nova to Alaska for Sept 2025. All the Alaska 2025 itineraries are on the SS website
  14. Another nice Bed and Breakfast is "Bell in the Woods", in downtown Seward, very close to the Boat Harbor. https://www.bellinthewoods.com/
  15. Check out EB Miami https://www.ebhotels.com/miami/about Close to the airport, has AAA, AARP and Cruise Package rates. The cruise package includes breakfast for 2, shuttle to and from Miami Airport and shuttle to Miami port.
  16. We purchased insurance through AMEX for a cruise last year, I believe it was the "Silver" level. My husband and I both were diagnosed with COVID while on the ship and we decided to change our return flights as we just wanted to get home and didn't feel comfortable touring while being sick. When we returned home we submitted a claim for the large fees charged by the airline and AMEX paid it all. One tip: maintain very detailed records and draft a cover letter with your documents so it will be easy for the adjuster to scroll through your claim. We had to show proof from the ship's doctor that we were diagnosed on board and within 2 days our claim was approved. The cruise line gave us 90% FTC and our medical provider reimbursed us for Paxlovid. We now use Travelguard which is more customizable and not much more expensive.
  17. I was referring to the package. Correct, the hotel does offer a courtesy airport shuttle
  18. Not really. my husband and I both needed new luggage for a trip last year and we saw these on Amazon and the price was in our range. It was sold out on the Travelpro website and other places so we grabbed them while available.
  19. Look at Travel Pro Maxlite Softside Spinner 19inch. 21. https://www.cmport.com/terminals/ships-in-port/ -click on Copenhagen tab - enter the dates you are looking for - select "cruise ships only" -scroll to find your ship it is showing Silhouette docks at Oceankaj, Quay C333
  22. Check out the EB Hotel Miami Airport- we are staying there pre and post cruise in January, along with others on our ship. It is 5 minutes from the airport and about 15-20 minutes to the cruise port. the rates are very reasonable for a luxury hotel and the rooms are a nice size. It is not as lively an area as South Beach, but it is a safe area. https://www.ebhotels.com/miami
  23. We are staying at the EB Hotel Miami airport, an approx. 17 minute ride to the port and less than 5 minutes from Miami Airport. They offer a "Stay and Cruise Package" https://www.ebhotels.com/miami/packages this link lists what is included. The shuttle is not free and includes shuttle service to Miami Airport and Miami Cruise port. We are staying there 2 nights pre-trip and 1 night post. https://www.ebhotels.com/miami
