  1. I booked a few nights of specialty dining, online, for a future cruise. Should I call to request the 15% off Elite+ discount or wait until I'm on the ship? I usually like to do everything before I start my vacation, but waiting on the phone for an hour+ and having someone fuss with my reservations causes me pause. I wish they'd just automatically apply it. TIA
  2. My husband and I are very neat. I do like wet towels taken away. The bathroom is small and towels don't dry well. We will have a glass of wine and a snack while getting ready for dinner. I'd like dirty dishes taken away. I fear the halls will be littered with them. I hope the new room service fee includes someone coming to pick up the dirty dishes and glasses. If the room stew doesn't get them, again, I'm afraid they'll be in the hallway. As mentioned, pull out and down beds need to be made up and broken down, hopefully there is a plan for this. There is also a certain safety aspect. Hair dryers, hot irons (hair) and other items are often left plugged in, this is a safety issue. Do the rooms need a complete clean, no and I don't think we receive that. I've had the same hand print on glass for a week. One thing I'd be in favor of that would make cleaning the room easier, is getting rid of all the non essential pillows and chachki.
  3. Look for recipes online for homemade wrinkle release. Works well with far less chemicals. I'm not going to claim it works like a pressing or steaming, but it's pretty good. It can also freshen something that may have been worn for just a little while and can be worn again. If you press and roll clothes in tissue paper, you'd be surprised at how nice they stay. Best of luck and enjoy your cruise.
  4. I agree 100%. I took 3 pairs of the exact same pants on a cruise a couple of weeks ago. Two looked very faded and were snug all over, the other looked and fit great. Couldn't figure it out until I felt the dreaded Celebrity laundry tag. The faded ones had gone out on our last Celebrity cruise to be washed. We were in a suite that included laundry, so they were pressed nice, but still looked tired and had shrunk. My dresses that are wrinkle free (who knows what chemicals they are made out of) that I travel with do just fine with the laundry abuse. I'd try to sink wash and spot clean. Even if it were free, I'd hesitate to send much out.
  5. And on the confirm page, still no mention of Classic Drink Package All Included Wi-Fi Drinks Tips
  6. Speaking with my husband about the recent changes on Celebrity. He is thinking Celebrity is filling the suites at top dollar and needs to fill the rest of the ship. The cutbacks will keep the fare lower and make it more affordable to a wider group of cruisers. I don't think he's wrong, but time will tell. I did notice when we were first on after Covid (Apex & Edge) there were many social media influencers on with us, so maybe a younger crowd as well. Back to my title. I did a mock booking to see what a balcony would be on the Edge in April. We were going to compare it to a similar room on an RCCL and NCL ship. When I got to the Cruise Only - All Included choice, the wording from All Included seemed different. I thought it used to state Classic Drink Package, not just "plus drinks". "Drinks" is vague at best. All Included Cruise-Only amenities, plus drinks, Wi-Fi and tips included. Save up to 45% on All Included package when you book now vs individually. 7. Complimentary room service was still listed as a benefit on Celebrity's website after they started charging for it in realtime on their ships.
  8. Agreed we are Elite+ and pretty sure this does not happen. There may be a discount, but it's not a free upgrade.
  9. Judging people as "food hogs" while they are on vacation is unfair. I drink more on vacation than I do at home, am I a "lush". I sit on a lounge chair for hours on vacation, am I a "slug". I don't make my bed, empty my trash or clean my bathroom, am I "lazy"...no I'm on vacation! There is always going to be something on a cruise that is costing Celebrity money that you are not taking advantage of. I say if someone wants to order 3 meals, so be it. This is how cruising has been, an inclusive vacation.
  10. I've been able to split deals such as this one between my 4 AU cards and then it adds up. My Amex also provides the best travel coverage.
  11. I did take screenshots of the "all included room service" on their website three days after they were charging on ships in real time.
  12. I hope you are feeling better after your surgery...oh wait you're on a cruise, that's not hospital food. My bad, have a great time.
  13. You may have luck with the credit card you booked with. Ask Celebrity, in writing, for a refund of your deposit, stating you feel you're not getting what you paid for. If they say no or just don't respond, reach out to your credit card company. I'm surprised people who already booked aren't more upset. They cut a lot. It's like buying a dozen eggs and seeing there is only six in the container and saying "well, at least two omelets are better than none".
  14. It will spoil you, but not ruin. I go back and forth between suites and veranda cabins. Sometimes the suites are just too high in price. I was in the PH in October on a repo and will be in an IV with you in April on the TA. IMHO, for that amount of $, you made the right choice! Enjoy the Retreat.
  15. I think the changes will have some impact on MDR. The new charge for room service and limiting choices at OVC will push people to the MDR no doubt. Some will make do with limited OVC choices. As far as "speculation" goes, I blame Celebrity for not passing on timely information regarding these changes. I have read rumors pertaining to extra charges on second entrees, lobster tails, room service. Elimination of turn down, limited choices at dinner in OVC, limited new menu at MDR. Time for Celebrity to list changes (good and bad) at least for those who have already booked. Celebrity's website had room services as an included benefit days after they had started charging people in real time. Many passengers are not on these boards and arrived on a ship with expectations that Celebrity didn't follow through on. As a consumer, that bothers me. If these cutbacks don't impact your trip, maybe the next ones will and you could be past final payment or on the ship before you're even aware. I find the changes lazy and the lack of communication shady. I have 3 cruises booked with Celebrity, that I am sure I will enjoy. I have spent over 60 days on Celebrity since August 2021. I'm not ruling them out, however I will watch closely and not make them my default. It's disappointing.
  16. I was able to use 4 cards on the account and get the offer for all 4. I had 3, spend 1,000 get 30,000 points and 1 spend $500 get 17,500. All points have hit my account. I hope this helps.
  17. hahaha...I should have txt'd you and asked!
  18. We'll be on the Harmony, B2B going from a veranda to a suite. How will our luggage be moved? TIA
  19. Not always. I felt Celebrity had a bit of a niche, not quite luxury, but not standard either. The last few years I've cruised just Celebrity, now I will do a bit more shopping around before I decide.
  20. Celebrity changed their website - When you’re on vacation, a long morning slumber with an indulgent breakfast in bed is always in the cards. Continental Breakfast room service is complimentary between 6 a.m. and 11 a.m.. Guests of The Retreat enjoy an expanded complimentary room service menu 24 hours a day. Tuck into eggs, pancakes, and fresh fruit, or enjoy a cozy movie night with a burger and fries from the comfort of your cabin. There’s a mix of hot and cold all-day items, plus plenty of kids’ options to choose from.
