  1. It really is strange the conditions people put on obtaining drinks and without it they simply 'can't have fun'. I have never found the task of grabbing a drink to be hard on a cruise ship.

If being unable to carry a liter of vodka and cranberry around with you is the break point instead of by the glass then so be it.

  2. Some THINK they used non-refundable in the casino. The ONLY way that one can say that their non-refundable OBC was used at the casino and/or for DSC is if they had absolutely ZERO on board expenses other than these two items and the OBC was applied. OBC is not applied to any specific item on your account, it is merely netted against you charges (any charges for refundable and anything other than DSC and casino for non-refundable).

Some have said exactly that. No charges against the account and used the entire OBC in the casino.

  3. LOL.....unlike the BS posted above.....there are plenty of good drinks that come from liquor that isn't top shelf. There will be thousands of people on your ship enjoying drinks made from liquor that doesn't cost $100 a bottle. Find some interesting options on the menu, many of which are posted above, and give it a shot.

  4. If you are set on one cruise book now. You can always cancel and take advantage of cheaper fares before final payment.

If you are set on the week but no particular cruise I wait to watch the trends. Normally a handful of cruises will start dropping while some rise.

  5. We leave the gratuities on and tip additional. We typically tip about $20 extra for the room steward to divide amongst the team. This past cruise was the worst steward we have had and we only left $10. We do ask for 2x/day service as we are used to getting and want this level of service. However, we always leave our room completely picked up & neat so that should make his job easier.

Why reward poor service? That passes the problem to the next customer. If they know they can half ass a job and still get a tip above and beyond the standard rate they have no reason to improve.

  6. The drink package is valued at $89 daily, that is the cost if you buy it. Everyone pays an 18% gratuity on that value which is roughly $16 per person per day. NCL is comping you the actual cost of the package leaving you only paying the gratuity.
