  1. There are shelves available for clothing as well as the closet. If you're an overpacker, you may have some space issues but for the most part, it works well for two people. Wouldn't want to do it with more than that. As has been stated, suitcases fit easily under the bed.
  2. Yes, reguar iPhone to IOhone messaging. I was able to send & receive messages to & from family/friends in Mass throughout the cruise. It also works to message people onboard but NCL also has an program that costs about $10.00 per phone that offers calls & messaging. We used that on the Pearl last summer & it didn't work well for our group but it may work better on other ships. I was unaware of iPhone message ability at that time but definitely recommend trying it before purchasing the other for use onboard.
  3. iPhone to iPhone messaging worked with no problem on my recent Panama Canal (LA ti MIA) cruise without using internet minutes. No photos & nothing to or from an Android. To get email, I logged on to my (included) minutes for a couple of minutes at a time to download emails and check facebook. I was worried about having enough minutes but had plenty of unused time at the end of the cruise. I could not open any email attachments unless I was logged on but that wasn't an issue for me. Hope this helps...
  4. You can book a table for 2 at the ala carte restautants with no problem because you're charged based on your meal. I did it last month. Not sure how it would work for the fixed price places like Teppanyaki.
  5. One more question... Any idea how often this happens?
  6. I have to say it never occurred to me someone could/would search reserved cabin occupancy numbers. I guess I'll just have to cross my fingers and hope for the best. FWIW, I choose my cabin based on it's proximity to the elevators because of mobility issues. Is there any consideration under those circumstances? If so, who would I need to contact?
  7. Good point! I also question changing a cabin for any reason other than maintenance or handicap issues. Seems like someone with at least some authority would have to approve the change and we should know what the criteria is. I don't imagine I can call any Rep, PCC, or TA and they're going to move whoever originally booked the cabin to accommodate me.
  8. This makes NO sense! There are a very limited number of cabins for solo cruisers and, I believe, they're on the larger ships and are inside only. And let's not forget that more often than not, solo's pay the "single supplement" which is often equal to a double fare. The only difference being they don't pay double taxes, port fees, gratuities or service charges. Additionally, I don't recall seeing any cabins classified for only 2 occupants. Are there cabins for only double occupancy?
  9. As a solo cruiser, the convenience of not worrying about finding a lounger and not losing it when I go to lunch, makes it well worth it to me! Add to that the comfort & service and I'll buy a Vibe pass on any ship that offers it!
  10. Are you saying they're only allowing 1 occupant? The angle cabin booked on Joy shows capacity of 3. Can't see them making that kind of a change. I think you may have received misinformation.
  11. I was changed from Pearl to Sapphire midway through my recent Bliss cruise. I was playing a machine at the time & there was a message on the screen to go see the casino host for my new cards. The next day, I received some additional treats in my cabin and a bottle of wine.
  12. You can do that but the casino charges a 3% fee so you'll lose some of it to that.
  13. I'm with you! After spending thousands, it makes no sense to worry about another few dollars for something I want.
  14. One question... Does anyone know for sure that they won't allow no app, soup, salad, entree, no dessert 0-2-1-0 or another combination? Naturally, only 1 entree but there's a lot of speculation here with no verification. Sounds like many here are okay with 4 items just not how they're listed. Why not wait to see how it's actually working?
  15. Go for it if that's what makes you comfortable. Plenty of people on my Bliss cruise last month were wearing them!
  16. Check out post #13. Some group codes don't qualify & that may be the reason you don't qualify.
  17. I'm vaxxed & boosted but got Covid after a cruise last July. When I cruised last month, the only thing I did differently was to avoid the buffet. Many folks on the cruise disembarked with Covid or a chest infection of some sort. During the cruise I saw more people masking and more cleaning. I also was initially mistaken for a quarantined cabin when I called room service one night. Obviously, there was illness onboard. Fortunately, I came home healthy and, although I could be wrong, I attribute that to not going to the buffet. I really missed the made to order omelets and grabbing a quick lunch on sea days but, staying healthy was the goal and I was successful. I have two cruises booked this year and will more than likely do the same thing. Covid wasn't awful for me but my doctor put me on Paxlovid (I'm old and high risk) and that medication is just awful! I'll do anything not to have to take it again LOL.
  18. I'm in an MA on a 7 day & a BB on a 12 day. Both were booked within the past two weeks. Thanks for the link! Both cruises are listed. Looks like I'll be moving up a tier 🙂
  19. I understand the LATREW* is tier benefits but confused because I have 2 cruises booked that list both. EASYFARE LATDBLX LATREW* META PPSRVCHG SHX50
  20. My invoice shows LATDBLX & LATREW*. Does that mean I'll get triple points for this cruise?
  21. Unfortunately, the supervisor you spoke with didn't know what she was talking about! They don't take odd numbers for reservations because tables are designed for even numbers. Make your reservation for 2 and don't worry about it. I was solo on my recent 15 day Bliss cruise and there was never an issue when I arrived and since I only had one meal, I was only charged for one.
  22. Loved my Club Balcony on Bliss and have booked one on the Pearl in July. The shower was fantastic but other than that, I didn't see anything special about the cabin itself. The "treats" were nice but not a big deal. The laundry perk worked out very well for me. I timed it so that most of my clothes came home clean! That sure made coming home a little less depressing.
  23. I'm actually doing a transition on Celebrity from Boston to Miami in October '23 but the point I was trying to make was that NCL pretty much has Boston all to themselves. Other lines are here periodically but NCL is the only line that sails continuously for Boston for about 6 months every year.
  24. They're also the only cruise line sailing from Boston April through October so they get away with their ridiculously hig prices.
