  1. I just don’t see how it is possible to tip only the people that you deal with directly. Say you go to the oceanview for breakfast. Someone makes an omelette for you. Someone toasts your English muffin. Someone clears the table. How do you tip them? Say you go to Mast Grill for lunch. How do you tip that staff? Say you plan to tip your dining room waiter in person. But he falls ill and someone substitutes for him for three nights. Then your waiter returns and you never see his substitute again. What do you do then?
  2. I don’t see how you could possibly pay everyone in the “envelope system” since many people you wouldn’t see on a daily basis receive tips from the current system of pooled gratuities.
  3. Remember that on this class of ship the Concierge rooms are 10% larger than standard staterooms
  4. This is the kind of event that if you want one, you can schedule it yourself and they will put it on the community bulletin board listings for you.
  5. I’m sure that was more than a couple of years ago. At one time there was a three drink rule. We each received three coupons to exchange for drinks. But that was probably about ten years ago.
  6. I don’t understand your question. It’s a standalone event.
  7. Maybe on your in room tv. There’s also a small bar with a tv in the casino.
  8. You might want to start another thread since this one is about scooters
  9. Which side of the ship are you on? Smoking will be on the port side unless They are bunkering or there is bad weather and they need to move it to starboard.
  10. All of them are open seating. No need to fret over reservations.
  11. Example of a parking niche. The his is on Connie
  12. Yes it fits in the cabin. But in mini cabins, it is nearly impossible to turn it around so that you can drive it out. That means you must back out while holding the door open. Not an easy task.
  13. No it is not easy in a non accessible room. turning the scooter around in a very tight space is quite difficult. trying to hold the door open and backing out is equally difficult. leaving the scooter in the hallway overnight is not an option. if you are near one of the elevator vestibule’s, you may find a little niche where you can park the scooter overnight. One other thing to be aware of is that the scooters use US pugs. If you park the scooter in one of the corners festivals, there will only be European plugs there, so you must bring an adapter.
  14. Many many posts on this. One big difference is smoking is not allowed anywhere indoors on Celebrity.
  15. I had to show a lady on the first day that there is a variable speed knob on the scooter. She had no idea and kept running into things. So I repeat my thoughts about learning to use a scooter before you come on a cruise. If the grocery store or Walmart or target or your pharmacy has one, she should try it out, and learn to turn in tight quarters around the shelves. And how to back up (no mirrors) and even how to “parallel park”
  16. Nice idea but logistically impractical. The first time I needed a scooter I injured my knee, literally on the way to the cruise. No time for a doctors note I was lucky that a scooter was available at the very last minute. Many people bring their own scooters from home. So placing any restrictions on rental scooters wouldn’t affect them.
  17. Special Needs at Sea is one company that provides rentals. have you booked her an accessible room? The normal rooms are often very tight for a scooter has she ever driven a scooter? Can she maneuver it, and back one up in an out of elevators?
  18. Not fleetwide. This is on Connie February 2024
  19. Despite the appearance of the website and the app, all of the dining rooms on the e class ships are open dining and your reservations won’t mean anything. Don’t waste your effort and time fussing with them.
  20. So you have not cruised since the restart. The check in procedures have changed and you will not find separate lines for Aqua, concierge or Elite any more.
  21. You might have put it off too long but it’s worth trying anyway
