  1. Yes and each additional person will be charged taxes and fees.
  2. I have 5 kids, 2 cabins will always be cheaper than a suite. I’d put the teens in an inside across the hall. I definitely think bringing a friend is a good idea for that age.
  3. Same, we can get to the MCT in 25 minutes on a Sunday, and get home quickly.
  4. It’s due to stewards having a lot more cabins since going to once a day cleaning. We usually get there before 9:30 and are on the ship by noon, head to a MDR for lunch.
  5. I think the pack and plays are regular sizes. Get some magnetic hooks for the ceiling and a shower curtain. No water play areas for diapered kids.
  6. Can you share what percentage of cruisers sail with a passport vs ID and birth certificate on closed loop cruises? Has it increased?
  7. We got the day pass on our first cruise over 15 years ago, $15. Our next cruise we did the Sheraton, $25. On our last cruise RIU, $100 for all included food and drinks.
  8. We are a family of 7, connecting cabins will be cheaper than suites.
  9. I think it’s hit or miss, sailed out of nyc 4 times, 3 were fine, 1 was horrible (not enough port staff).
  10. I agree, there is really no good reason to chose a Manhattan hotel based on it being located near the cruise terminal.
  11. Guarantee cabins can be at opposite ends of the ship, on different decks. If you want 2 cabins near each other, don’t book guarantee.
  12. A12 year old will not be allowed in the teen club. I have 5 kids who have been on 4 NCL cruises. They loved the kids club, loved the teen club, but those in the 10 - 12 age group went once and then chose to not go back. This was the case on DCL too, it’s just the age. Fortunately #2 had a 12 year old friend on a cruise, and #3 #4 #5 were 12 10 10 on a cruise and hung out together.
  13. Well, they definitely checked my family’s licenses on GSC.
  14. I don’t know, one of my kids fell I’ll and so I stayed back on the ship with her, but make sure everyone has their drivers license. My daughter was 20 at the time and didn’t bring her license because she had her passport. Fortunately she volunteered to verify everyone’s licenses and they didn’t realize she didn’t have it.
  15. The written policy differs from what I’ve experienced 4 times.
  16. Your then 18 year old will still need to be booked in a cabin with someone 21+, but guest services will give extra key cards, we always sail in connecting balconies with our 5. Keep in mind the majority of ships do not have pools for diapered kids (an infant won’t notice). We liked balconies so we had a place to hang when the kids were sleeping. We sail NCL but they do not have a nursery for under 3’s.
  17. It’s so easy to grab a cab, they’re all lined up, takes you right to Atlantis, usually very quick.
  18. Car seat laws in NJ go up to age 7, we had to bring 2 backless boosters for our almost 5 year olds when we took a car service to the airport. Limos are exempt, I believe, and so are cabs while in nyc.
  19. NCL in practice doesn’t allow it even with connecting cabins.
  20. What week? Lots of local colleges start after Labor Day, hotels fill up and are very expensive.
  21. You don’t switch keys, additional copies of the keys that only open door are given to the family. I’ve read countless posts like this on CC.
  22. I know! That’s why I kept calling back, cruised on 4 NCL ships and ran into this issue each time.
  23. They will both be guest #2 because that’s how NCL books minors, they need someone 21+ to be booked with them. The OP said they are booking 2 cabins for the 4 of them.
  24. I don’t think so, I’ve booked several cruises with my kids who were under 21, they wouldn’t even allow our 19 and 20 year olds to be booked without one of us in a connecting cabin. Not an issues, just got extra keys from guest services like always. I called 3 times and they wouldn’t do it.
