  1. Agreed. It's not alcoholism - it just sounds like it :D

However 4-5 drinks every day on a cruise most definitely qualifies as "heavy drinking" and 10 per day is undoubtedly "binge drinking" - I looked up the definitions :).

I put on enough weight on a cruise without adding huge amounts of alcohol into the mix. Although I guess if you drank daily your body would be able to process it easier. I'm lucky if I get to 10 drinks in a month.

I'm not criticising people for drinking. It's your cruise and your health so enjoy yourself. Each to their own. I just don't understand how anyone can drink enough to make a paid beverage package worthwhile.

Good thing is I qualify for both binge eating and drinking. Yet my weight stays low. Problem is some others worry about it. Biggest problem is my bank, when I get back, they don't understand me having a drink at 9:00 ;)

  2. Agree. There is no way I could ever justify paying for a beverage package. I'm certainly no teetotaller but 4-5 alcoholic drinks every day sounds like alcoholism to me.

You must be talking about me . I'm on vacation and don't think I'm ready for Step 12. Thanks for your thoughts though .

  3. This gave me a good chuckle. You know for sure you had her cold and cough, not one passed along by another of the 3000 or 4000 people on your cruise.

If she was allowed to board and the cruiseline knew she was so contagious shame on them I guess. But seriously, no cruise line is going to tell someone with a cold, especially in the winter, that theycan't cruise.

Agree. Geez, imagine getting a cold on a cruise? We're only around a few thousand of our closest friends in a confined area.

  4. Our family is leaning towards a celebrity cruise......we have been on many royal and carnival cruise. We enjoy the party atmosphere......( by the pool and after hours bars and entertainment. )

My real question is.....is there really a big difference between royal/carnival and celebrity?

Yes. Pretty geriatric crowd. I'm later 50's and it wasn't lively enough for us. Entertainment pretty non existent but had good disco party one night though. A lot of people attended. Wouldn't that be a suggestion to X to liven things up, at least at night?

  5. Do you value your eyes?

I doubt that those things are ever cleaned or sanitized.

Eyes are one of the main entrances for viruses, germs, bacteria and etc.

    happy cruisng 🌊🚢🇺🇸🌞

   .......

  6. I know some of them do that, but on the Away ships, there is no room for that. Maybe on one of the upper decks, but not near the pool. There is an area over by the kids splash pad, and it's shaded ... there just isn't a whole heck of a lot of room.

Been on both. There is plenty of room.

  7. We are half way through a two week Caribbean cruise. My husband is to have shoulder surgery five days after our return. Our doctor gave us a prescription for pain Meds to bring with us just in case he had problems. I had the pain meds in with our daily vitamins and honestly I forgot about them. Tonight as I was reorganizing our vitamins I realized that they had not been put in the safe... I looked at the bottle and after counting realized 18 of the 30 are missing! I am so upset about this but hate to accuse anyone. I know I should have put them in the safe but the thought of someone going through my things to find them has me very upset. What would you do?

I'm not buying it. I've personally lost track. Ignore it.

  8. I believe it contains Saccharin. Proven to cause cancer in lab animals, provided they drink about a bathtub full each day for 20 years.

Proven, not. A normal internet phenonema. Bon Jour, my French model :)

Mmore than 30 human studies have been completed and found that the results found in rats did not translate to humans, making saccharin safe for human consumption. The reason for this may be that the original study gave the rats an amount that was hundreds of times higher than "normal" ingestion for humans. In 2000, the National Toxicology Program (NTP) of the National Institutes of Health concluded that saccharin should be removed from the list of potential carcinogens. The warning has now been removed from saccharin-containing products. Out of the five FDA-approved artificial sweeteners, saccharin is often chosen to be the safest.

  9. We docked in Panama and took a land trip to the canal. On X Equinox in December. The canal is impressive.

I looked at some that made the passage and the port fees were a bit much also. It ain't cheap to use the locks. When I was there I think they said it costs a couple hundred thousand dollars to make the passage.

  10. There is no room on the pool deck for a blow up pool or tub!!

Just back from Celebrity cruise. The pool attendants actually filled a collapsible baby pool for a little one. It didn't take more room than three loungers. Kid was perfectly happy and I was impressed that X had one, especially with their typically geriatric crowd.

  11. The classic worked well for us. My friend ordered a Stella and the server mentioned to him it wasn't in the classic. No problems, no hassles. At dinner, the servers looked at the car and brought an appropriate wine. Again, no hassle.

It was surprisingly simple and we never looked at drink prices when we ordered. AND as you get to know the bartenders, they'll take care of you. Our card had "call" printed on our card indicating classic package.

Don't worry. I did enough of that for the both of us. :)

It works great and we never felt a need to upgrade.
