  1. I actually bought the Ultimate Romance Package (Not for the romance lol) But it includes a specialty restaurant value and am sure it can be used at Lukes? I bought it because it seemed good value given what it includes.
  2. Another vote for Angelos! So strange that most online and YT reviews say Angelos isnt great and DL is much better? I think I will stick with CC recommendations.
  3. Thanks, Tracey is off to Tassie for 10 days and wont be around for when dinning bookings are open so we need to have some sort of plan so I can pre book online. Given this is a fully booked cruise during School holidays I dont think we will have much problem booking late seatings.
  4. I am probably over thinking it as we wont go hungry lol. All of the reviews I have read people seem to prefer Dragon Lady over Angelos so just goes to show how subjective reviews are!
  5. Our most recent cruises have all been RCL and Carnival in the USA, so with P&O AU can I still approach Matre De on boarding day and ask for shared table every evening meal like we did when TD switched to ATD.? I know this still works on US cruises but We have not done P&O AU for many years! We are late dinners and enjoy company even if its not reciprocal lol Cheers
  6. So we haven't cruised for a few years and believe it or not love the old P&O Trad Dinning! So question is when pre booking evening restaurants in advance should I just book shared tables? (love shared tables) We have been through the change from TD to ATD and in the past we just booked 8.30pm for every night at the main dinning room once onboard. Any advise will be appreciated. Cheers
  7. Personally after many O/S Cruises I believe P&O need to get their act together re Visas/ VOA! I went ahead and pre purchase because I cant get a 100% straight answer even though some at P&O have assured me in emails those AU/NZ passport holders can get a visa onboard as was done in the past! Denied Bording because of written "non speak" confusion is everyone's fear! In todays world I believe the confusion is because of possible "non inclusion" of non AU/NZ passport holders may not be quite equitable enough? So vague wording re Visa's is just a P&O protection? My spin is this: "For Australian and New Zealand passport holders, the required visa will cost IDR 500,000 (approximately $AU48). Guests should have at least one blank passport page available for the visa." The above statement should be true of "Most overseas passport holders" as its a standard 'Indonesian VOA/ Visa requirement' not a P&O condition of travel just for AU/NZ passport holders?????
  8. Try following my instructions above, your fist stop in Indonesia is the address you put and if cruising onward Cruise Docs are put in place for Return Air Travel if anything is incorrect in PDF part the payment part wont go through. The check list has to be checked fully. Maybe no help but it took me about 10 goes, I had to keep closing and re applying via the link not refresh.
  9. Now are you willing to listen to a World Travelled individual as well as a later life Cruiser?? Yes or No? At the present moment the e VOA (Visa On arrival) Is 500,000 IDR. Where Cruises to Indonesia differ is you need Authority to enter Indonesian waters via Visa On Arrival! This actually costs Money because a Cruise is not an International Airport to Airport flight Komodo Lombok and Benoa Cruise ports are not able to proses a huge influx of entrance as is done at an airport! Indonesian Immigration board the ship way before arrival and Prosses cruisers VOA into Authority to enter! A VOA or Visa is and never has been a ticket to entry anywhere in the World! This is only granted at Immigration passport control! What differs for Cruisers is they cannot be denied entrance or turned away because they are on a cruise heading into Ino waters not an Airport!
  10. Forget anyone on FB! Most have no Idea! I have spent 2 weeks and more time than I would care for on this subject! I have Cruised Indonesia twice with P&O in the past so sort of know how it works! P&O will arrange onboard visas for those who arrive at terminal without a visa! I have it in Writing. P&O would prefer Cruisers to pre apply for a B1 VOA (Visa On Arrival) You are best to apply and pay for an e-VOA Cost $53 AU credit card $48 or less with a 28Degree or similar CC that charges zero foreign exchange fees! I will now begin a "Copy Pate" of my info details if needed! Indonesian Visa! After extensive online conversations with P&O I was given this information! Up to you guys to trust the word or not: Hi again, Dennis. Our crew members have a visa, as it's one of the requirements. Australian and New Zealand passport holders who do not purchase a visa prior to the cruise can purchase one onboard. Thank you, -Anne. The question I posed before above answer was "How do P&O staff and crew go through Indonesian Immigration? This has taken me ages to get correct information and given how little P&O onshore staff seem know about travel I am not sure I trust it lol I am still waiting for my P&O Cruise Planner to confirm this info in writing. 5.3k April 5, 2007 Perth Australia Author #45 Posted Friday at 02:57 PM After spending some time on the phone today They said they can do the visa onboard but would like most cruises to get their own so for those applying in advance for a B1 VOA the Indonesian address you use is LOH-LIANG, KOMODO Postcode 86754 Because of the total confusion its easier to get a B1 VOA in advance in my opinion. Cheers OK e-VOA done! What a hassle! You need your photo of passport uploaded in jpeg personal photo uploaded in Jpeg then you have to upload passport again and travel doc in PDF further along! Indonesian e-visa nothing to do with (P&O) When you enter the address I listed above you write address and postcode in separate boxes LOH LIANG KOMODO (no commers no dash) address box 86754 in Postcode Box and the city province village boxes auto fill. For Return flight details you upload your cruise doc in PDF Took me 2 hours just to do the online application lol. So Indonesian e- VOA (Visa On Arrival) Cost us $53AU each, this was with an AU Credit Card and included foreign exchange fees! If you have a 28 Degree or similar Credit Card that charges no foreign exchange fees it will be around $48 each or less, Thats not bad given the same onboard "Blanket" P&O visa charge was $45 10 years ago for all cruiser regardless you already had a Visa? Visa or not I will Guarantee Indonesian Immigration will be onboard in Broome or last Ozzy stop as was past 2 cruises and you will have to have your VOA/Visa checked between Broome/last AU port and Komodo against your passport in the Deep Dark Bowls of Ship and" in person" to get the 30 day B1 Visa stamped in your passport. Good luck and just ask me if you have any problems getting the e-VOA (Visa On Arrival) P&O Really need to lift their Knowledgeable information game on Cruises like this. Trust a CC member or quibble with Some random Face Book posters who are not willing to do the required research and most have never Travelled overseas let alone an overseas Cruise! Follow my details on getting an Indonesian e-VOA and its just another thing you need not stress about, good luck! 🙂
  11. Had a few trial runs and indeed the bank was correct I cannot use my ANZ Debit Card for online payments or overseas payments. I couldn't pay for shore tours or extras or Indonesian VOA all declined. ANZ has told me I need a separate Debit Card Acc even though my Access card says Debit Card. We have enough Acc,s already to be dealing with another one.
  12. Have not been P&O for some years but can/will room Steward still store your cases for you? In the past the steward stored our largest empty cases and I just gave a tip at the end! This next cruise there is no room under the bed in our cabin. Cheers
  13. Thanks didn't want to get caught out, so once ashore I just switch on Data Roaming. Cheers
  14. If you are on international Roam can you use your phone onboard as soon as you get telco notifications when in or coming close to a foreign port. I usually turn my phone off during a cruise but these days its also my camera and need it for App so I may receive calls or TXT while still onboard. Cheers
  15. Had a day off work today and finally got to speak to a person who knows what is what! Its been like "Pulling my own teeth" lol, P&O would like cruisers to get their own VOA/Visa for Indonesia but will do it onboard if necessary?????? At least in the end I was put through to an Australian P&O Rep other than your average Pilipino learned call centre staff member! We have now been given an address to use in Indonesia to obtain a visa if we want to get one in advance. My biggest fear has been arriving at embarkation and being told I cannot board because I dont have a Visa!
  16. You really don't need to walk too far! Unlike small Non Cruise tours! Its in their best interest to "Heard" the Dragons down the hill for tourists lol. First trip we all agreed the Dragons were dragged down the hill earlier in the morning for our shore tour "Monies worth" True Story: At the drinks station an elderly Gent fell over after the tour and grazed his knee, he was obviously on blood thinners because I helped him with a small first aid kit to stop the bleeding! Within 5 mins we were all standing on the picnic tables terrified as the Rangers franticly beat of the Dragons with big sticks who smelled the blood! This is a true story, If they smell blood they move more like a Salty croc but if dragged down for our entertainment they become Sloths! lol
  17. With Komodo you need a guided tour, trust me You Need A Guided Tour! It is a World Heritage Protected island national park so numbers allowed on the island at any given time are limited due to Park Ranger numbers and its environment, some of the Rangers actually have rifles with them, its very strict. You can book a tour with private tour company, we have for our April Cruise its $100US each. Singapore Cruise terminal is set up for emigration like an airport, we had no problems getting off a cruise from Australia that terminated in Singapore and its an easy process for those who hold a passport that allows free VOA.
  18. Quick update From P&O after long online conversations (would you trust it)? Hi again, Dennis. Our crew members have a visa, as it's one of the requirements. Australian and New Zealand passport holders who do not purchase a visa prior to the cruise can purchase one onboard. Thank you, -Anne. It would have been so Simple to put this advise out there! I am old school and well travelled as well as most on CC and know a bit about VOA and Visas Which obviously P&O staff have not been trained in!
  19. Update nobody at P&O seems to know? lol The World is now a very strange place for sure! So far 3 P&O staff have admitted that they have never travelled overseas let alone on a cruise and do not understand both Visa protocol and VOA protocol! Its just not on their or their supervisors cheat sheet list of Customer answers to Questions. lol I tried to get an e-VOA and even a 30 day Visa online but I cannot continue to payment because I don't have an address in Indonesia that I will be spending most of my time during the visit! P&O FB helpline said maybe just show up and P&O "may" do it for you onboard? I will go to the Embassy and get a visa but many live too far away to do this, P&O really need to get their act together with correct passenger visa information that's for sure.
  20. Have contacted AMEX and Platinum included Insurance is pretty inclusive for cruises, just have to find out about "Pre Existing because mid last year I was diagnosed for the first time with "Hypertension" So I may need to take out a separate policy with a TI company that covers pre existing with a charge of course! lol
  21. Thanks haven't cruised for a couple of years, My AMEX has insurance but I don't think it covers the most important cruising add ons like ship to shore emergency evac cover? I am also presuming nobody covers for anything Covid related?
  22. Last time we went to Indonesia with P&O we had to hand in our passports on embarking for a blanket visa (AU,NZ Passports at a cost), Some are now saying we must now get our own Visa prior to Saling but how will Indo Emigration check those visas especially when our first stop is Komodo which has no passport control? Usually Indo Emigration gets on in Australia and issues the 2-3000+ visas over the time it takes to get to Indonesia. Also last cruise those that did get their visa prior still had to hand in their passports and were still charged the blanket visa fee. P&O,s visa requirements are not clear given they state a cost for AU/NZ Passport holders and that Guests should have one blank page! :All guests are advised to visit https://evisa.imigrasi.go.id/ to determine their individual visa requirements for entry into Indonesia, and apply for the relevant visa in advance. For Australian and New Zealand passport holders, the required visa will cost IDR 500,000 (approximately $AU48). Guests should have at least one blank passport page available for the visa.
