Thank you for all your posts, which have well conveyed the enjoyment you experienced. Such a shame the end was so frustrating. And worse still that the man lied to you about disembarkation. I suppose the thing to do is to make them write it down.
Cunard dock there and lots of other lines. And, I believe, there’s cheap fuel. UK passengers like it, if it’s an early port of call, because there is a Marks and Spencer, so they can buy anything they’ve forgotten.
It looks as if it may be something to do with Spain. US citizens seem to be having problems crossing that border. Where was you previous port? Next one?
That is the joy of it, but I can see why it was not for you.
As one who doesn’t eat eggs (not an allergy, just massive dislike), I think having two desserts with custard is not very good planning.
I really wouldn’t bother with Winchester, stay in Southampton. If you really want to live dangerously, take the Hythe Ferry over the estuary and admire the waterfront from there. Then come back at once.
I always used to make mine (the younger ones anyway) stand up, which was by no means universal practice in the school. It was a way of signalling the start of the lesson, and they didn’t seem to mind.
Too stressful, and not enough time to make it worthwhile to go to London. But there is a maritime museum, an air museum, a Tudor merchant’s house, an art gallery, bits of possibly Roman wall, and excellent chocolate brownies in John Lewis West Quay.
