  1. Clearly I am deeply stupid, and thank you for pointing it out. But surely marketing and finance must be connected: without the former there might be no income at all. What about taking the pools out? They must cost money to maintain, and you aren’t even allowed to drink in them. I think they should definitely go.
  2. What makes you think that? I should have thought ambience was of vital importance, as it is the way they can distinguish their brands.
  3. But 3GC has already said she didn’t want to deal with them.
  4. This is not very helpful, but they certainly let you transfer on board bookings to a TA, so it is hard to see why they wouldn’t, but with Cunard, who knows. I hope your TA is OK.
  5. I find on most voyages the number of kindles increases towards the end, as people finish the print books they have brought or don’t want to risk having to return something half read to the library.
  6. What was it you had? It looked like meatballs with sticky toffee pudding, a somewhat unusual combination.
  7. Yes, that’s right. I’ve also from time to time had a few general questionnaires from Cunard about cruising preferences.
  8. I'm not sure the changes you mention are dated from Covid. The bookshop changed some time before that, after a parting from Ocean Books, whereas the decline in quality and choice of food and the diminution of the room service menu must be after last summer when we were aboard.
  9. I think I’ve had some sort of survey after both our cruises this year.
  10. I should think Carnival with its youngish demographic would be unlikely to have many passengers needing a larger font.
  11. I think the max reverse speed is usually given as about 20 kts.
  12. So how many an hour are you suffering? It surely isn’t that busy.
  13. You need to have the Dulce de Leche ice cream, which is the best ice cream on board. Last time it didn’t appear until I begged them, so you are lucky it is actually on the menu.
  14. Strangely, if we survive, we are going there in 2025 for the first time in many Med. cruises, and I am looking forward to it, though admittedly not for the clubbing.
  15. I believe the original complainant identified a third type. You may wish to note those as well. 🙂
  16. No, I have seen it mentioned on the others, I’m afraid. But in fact all those Atlantic crossings probably do cause a unique prob on QM2.
  17. But I always arrive by 12.30, do priority check in, and then sit and wait in the large area if necessary. It wasn’t in August, but in May those who had checked in were so many, they were starting to make people wait outside.
  18. Could I just suggest something? You seem to be having such a great time, more than many seasoned Cunard pax, I really think you should bite the bullet and dress up for a gala night, just so you can experience it. After all, even if you hate it, it won’t last that long, and you have enjoyed so much else. I speak as a long standing Cunard fan, who isn’t remotely interested in dressing up, but it is impressive to see the restaurants on a well observed formal night. I do realise this is none of my business.
