Thank you for the update! I have made the change to the spreadsheet:  https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1IwhHuxFGVf8GRxIe1V30Bj0elmkPLRuQUxOpmI8LiFE/edit?usp=sharing

You are welcome !  I can say that even with the new sign/restriction, on this cruise some did use the cigar bar at times. Cigar smokers did not mind, and staff ignored (probably as it was a very recent change).  I am sure that will not always be the case.

BTW--the sing is not one of those stand up , movable signs outside, but rather one permanently attached to the door !

Barb...no. The question was asked of the general manager at our Meet and Greet for the Dec. 2 sailing and he said no...not in the MDRs, not in O'Sheehan's and not in the Garden Cafe. Prime rib is only available in Cagney's.

If I can jump in here...seems the prime rib has been replaced with "sirloin , loaded potato and creamed spinach." It was pretty good , in fact the spinach was MUCH better than Cagney"s !!

Thanks Henry,..for doing our M&G and it was a pleasure meeting you!!!

My one experience with the crème brulee in Cagney's was not good. It is raspberry and was not cooked enough. It was a soupy mess that should never have been served. That was on the Gem a few years ago and I gave up. I like the vanilla version in Le Bistro. Never a bad one yet!

I toally agree !!!  LeBistro creme brulee is the best !  Cagneys and one in MDR (not on every night menu..maybe once on a 7 day cruise)   not so good.

Great cd Freddie was at each and every party. Many theme parties with great live band called Prism.

Excellent activities staff with Jeff Hernandez doing Zumba type work out.

    Excellent dancing opportunities.

Cd assistant Joey was very funny.

We enjoyed the whole crew on Halloween cruise this past October. 14 wonderful nights of fun. You’re going love it.

Enjoy and act up you’ll never ever see these people again!

Thanks !!!  Do you happen to know the HD and Food /Beverage Director...???  Hoping to meet some old friends!

Just off the GEM and no ashtrays are outside on 7 - and also noticed no smoking signs posted.

Thanks for replying....😉  Though I am  not happy only having one outside area left...Bali Hai. ☹️

I am sure they will soon eliminate the Gem cigar bar as other ships have done...🤔 and if they do, that does not leave many places on a port intensive cruise (which eliminates  the casino most of time !)

Seems like it slipped by that both wine recommendations are $17 - so an upcharge of $2.40/glass.

I went back and looked at Prof. Cruise's Bliss mdr dinner menus and they "recommended" $$ wine, but i wonder if it was a bottle price?

    https://profcruise.com/ncl-menus/

Her wine menu shows East & West NCL proprietary blend for $9.95, so the $17 price displayed is a 70% price increase.....

House wine for $17 a glass ?????? (and not covered by package?)  now that is totally ridiculous !!  It must be an error.

Not only is it barely worth $10 a glass but how can NCL have a package with no wine option???

Doesn't matter if the crew sanitizes 24 hrs a day, the elephant is the room is the cell phone. Passengers use them in the restroom and maybe pick and scratch everywhere. Intermittently using their phones at the meal table,  people reach into the bread basket and also handle the salt & pepper shakers. Hard to stop noro from spreading that way.

You have a very valid point.

  8. When sailing solo, I usually use my Platinum vouchers at Cagney's and La Cucina.  This time I am doing La Cucina and Le Bistro.

The last 2 times, I was very disappointed in Cagney's.  Service , while pleasant was very slow.   Steak NOT up to par at all, cold  small sides, and I did feel sick afterwards...the lobster bisque probably the culprit...did have an "off" odor...my fault for eating it.

Good for you for catching the insurance, reading what it offered, and deciding to shop around.  Just don’t wait too long, if you do have a pre-existing condition according to each policy’s definition, there is a short time window to buy the policy before it is excluded.

Also look at evacuation and medical insurance coverage...may or may not be of concern to you.  Worth serious consideration whether or not whatever policy you buy has sufficient coverage for your personal needs.

Way ahead of you 😁  Already researched...where I usually buy online...insuremy****....etc   and narrowed it down to two...will book tomorrow...well within time for waiver. And yes--it is the medical I am most interested in.  PS- Better policy and cheaper !!!

  10. Thank you both !!!   I  always book via a 3rd party...but when I booked yesterday..somehow managed to add insurance !!

I finally was able to discern (after I posted)..the NCL policy was not for me..and just managed to call CAS and get them to cancel it !!! (only hitch..have to wait for it to go back on my CC !)    Now I can safely go and book a better policy..😄

Again..thanks so much.  I usually am much more efficient than this...could not believe I had made the error.  😲

  11. I wish NCL would fix the search application😵..I really tried to look it up..

    I booked yesterday..and paid in full...insurance was added..but I probably don't want...can I cancel it? I recall that is an option.

AND does anyone know offhand..if the standard policy covers pre existing conditions...I can't remember and can't  find it in the policy info online.

Trying to save a long wait on the phone to get the answers 😉

    Thanks so much..
