Thanks for posting - one of my reservations also has the SHX50 code but it was added later when I made changes to a cruise originally booked with airfare instead.  I'm assuming both do the same thing, but the per stateroom is important, since I've invited someone along on this cruise and was hoping to share the overage anytime I have an excursion that costs less than $100.  My plan is to split the promo if they won't carry over any excess to #2.

I am hoping someone has the T&Cs for the August 3rd ish  2019 time period in their files. code  ALL4FW)  If anyone does..I would surely appreciate having them posted...I think I will need all the ammo I can get when I call for clarification re: one  person vs per cabin.😉

Thanks...I actually  found the other thread re: my additional  promo..(air or excursions)  that one is per stateroom. !!! (see below)  So when DH  and I book an excursion for a port...we then can/should  both get $50 off.  !!!????....

I am not sure what my original $50 was (person or cabin) ...in the pick all ...booked Aug 3 2019 .

Amenity confirmation reads   CHSULM   and SHX50..both under my name   AND  Confirmation says HEXTRSX2.

I think I will be calling to question the way it listed on my paperwork.

I had a bit of a revelation on this topic last night.  I have an IT background and thought "surely there's an IT solution to trying to see those old pages".  Well, it ALMOST worked.

There is a website out there called archive.org.  In a nutshell, it archives past versions of websites across months, even years.  In theory you can tell it the website you want to look up and select a date from a timeline and it will actually show you that website as it existed on that date!

My thought was to just go back to a few days before I booked and do a normal search of excursions as if I was just doing pre-cruise research.  Sadly, only portions of the NCL website came up...excursions were not able to be searched.  BUMMER!  I really thought I had a solution.

Anyway...you may find a use for this website in future things you are trying to research.  Thought I would at least point out its existence.  Most people outside of the IT field are probably not aware of it.  At the very least, it's interesting to go back several years and look at sites you are familiar with to see how radically (or not) they have changed!

I tried the archive.org site..could not get it to work at all.  Thanks for the info, though.

So hoping someone has the Terms of the promo that was discussed in detail here on CC..the one that added $50 instead of air promo (Sept 2019).  (I already had $50 in pick all)

The smoking is a problem, for gamblers who smoke there should be a comfortable place for them to go and smoke close to the casino, allowing them to indulge between games, and allowing non smokers to also enjoy the casino.

On my last cruise, I was an active slots player and smoker. Being considerate, I always told anyone who wanted to  sit next to me that I was a smoker. Usually it was fine. Plus, if I felt that it was bothering anyone  close by,  I would often leave my things and go over to the window area (as far away from people as possible in the casino). But alas, that was not good enough for some.  I had some woman yelling.."smoking is for active players only!". My attempts to tell her I was "playing"..fell on deaf ears..

Machine assumes you walked away and forgot your card.  Actually....that's better than leaving it on the screen for someone else to claim.

Yup--that is what I was told !!  Yes--a good thing !  Just pretty scary until you know !😉

  6. And just an FYI..if for some reason stop playing a machine for a certain time..with card in...your money automatically goes onto the card !  This happened to me last time on the Gem..was busy talking to someone and my money was no longer displayed on my machine...!  Panic time...till attendant explained !

Like others posted, I have little desire while on VACATION to have to argue with staff about fake limitations.  I've had to do it at times and it makes a takes you from enjoying the time together to being aggravated by fake rules.

I totally agree. I do not wish to take away from what is to be a vacation from stress...to have to debate with staff about my perks (or as in another thread..wait in line to get discount for excursions!!!)...This is my vacation and NCL should make every effort to make it a stress free enjoyable one!!!!

You are most welcome, glad to be of help!

One thing to note -- NCL has recently changed the terms of the shorex promo a bit.   I don't know which set of T&Cs you fall under.  But from what I've read on other threads, the promo credit can now be applied to an advance booking.  Also, I believe it applies to more than one shorex in a single port, and only to Guest 1, whatever they mean by that.

So keep reading all the new threads, and check your T&Cs as well.   There doesn't seem to have been much experience yet under these new terms.

    Enjoy your cruise!

Yes--not sure what set of T&Cs either!!!  My first promo for $50 was in 8/2019--and part of "take all" promos (CHSULM). Then in 9/2019 got the extra $50 added (thanks to info here on CC)  (SHX50 Which shows on Confirmation as HEXTRSX2. And both   listed in Amenity page as under my name..

  9. @Turtles06    I think I have been remiss not to thank you for all the great info !!!  Even though my cruise is not till November  besides  printing out your original post I have been checking back on this thread for any updates !!!

I am especially glad about your update on $ refunded at end of cruise..and hoping that is the norm.  We usually have no use for any extra OBC as we do have all the perks and just don't spend money on board on much else.!

  10. As many others,I have been following all this here and on the news  My biggest concern is that I truly believe we cannot trust China to release accurate information. While they have been more forthcoming than in the past, we really probably do not know how long this  has been going on or if indeed infection and death numbers are correct.

I think it depends on who you talk to.  If you don't like the first answer you get, hang up and call back to speak to someone else.

Our 16 night cruise has a $320 admin fee per person.

I did get a second opinion...(see my last post).  I was told on my phone call to CAS that they have no control over admin fees and he gave me the email to inquire. They confirmed...$20 per day only for comped cabins.

I have a 12 day booked thru CAS  --not land based --discounted NOT comped.  My administration fee is $320 per person !! I called CAS and they said the $20 per day ($240 for 12 day)  is for comped cruises only!!!  This can't be right ..or is it??

UPDATE--this is reply to my email to "casino inquires"--"20.00 a day is only for comp cabins.  You are a discount cabin and it does not apply for discount cabins".

I am becoming more disappointed with CAS as of late,  lost my solo benefit (pay full cabin price when solo w/discount) and no discount for admin fees with discounted cabin .  ☹️

I used to get cabins for the price for one person as casino player  ...now I.m told my cabin costs double ....i pay the whole rate ....not cheap and I do not get double points

i have not booked another NCL cruise sinCe and I was a very loyal customer ...my cas agent told me Del Rio changed the rules re cas players ...payfor thewhole cabin ...Asof Jan 2019 .that becomes  very expensive when you factor in gAmbling moola...
i usedto travel NCL many times a year ...I cAn no longer do that ...bummer

I, also, used to try to sail solo on CAS once a year--discounted not comped. . Was very disappointed last time...when I did have to pay "double" since the change. Booking via CAS is no longer a bargain for me as a solo.
