Nothing planned .... We cancelled our fall cruise and with all the travel restrictions/ and quarantine on returning to NJ from so many places...out of state road trips..not a great idea. Even in state..would have been nice...but with no indoor dining and mandatory masks...not so much fun.
We were going to use the money to get some work done around the house...but our handyman (and so many workmen) is staying home due to virus...
I can't win.......

Well its fun to dream, though i feel it is not likely.
Think of it this way...you were just in AC....your odds/luck there was WAY better than you sailing this year. 😵😉

I think NCL and others will follow suit.

It's kind of sad that the closest thing we have to cruising is watching reruns of Loveboat and the closest thing we have to NFL football is seeing NFL cheerleaders on a Loveboat episode (and on cruise music videos posted here on CC).
Funny but sad and so true !!!

Thank you for saying that! My thoughts exactly! I'm STILL planning on my November cruise, regardless of what anyone says on these boards, which is all speculation and opinion.
I really do wish you well ! And though I cancelled my November cruise to be on the safe side....I hope things go well for you.

It is beyond belief that NCL haven't "bitten the bullet" and cancelled all cruises for the rest of 2020. Then everyone would know where they stand.
YES!!!

IN MY OPINION...I see no cruising this year. And I hope all the crew is soon home safely .

I hate to say it, but is it possible that cruise is going to be in the next batch to be canceled?? I heard from another group travel agents met with NCL on zoom, next batch of cancellations for October/November will be rolling out next week😢😢😢
Sadly...this is what I expected.

No, maybe just a discretely different color cabin keycard. (Just a joke, folks.)Let’s not forget about grouping the cabins.
😁
And Re: Cabin grouping....so then if I sail solo...and am doomed to eat and drink alone ..with my "old person key card" of course. LOL

Just wondering.. ..will they make all the 'old buggers ' wear a "scarlet letter" like badge on a lanyard???🤔😟
(trying to find some humor in all of this!)

I had just posted again before you did. Yes--it will be a long time IF ever that we will sail again. Our age will be a big factor.

WOW !!! Guess my cruising days are over....😢
And to add, as other have said on other threads...doctors will be VERY reluctant to issue any "fit to travel" form for legal reasons. This plus being segregated as a "over 65 " person is not my idea of happy cruising.
I think just this will surely affect the cruise lines bottom line..with so many senior making up many sailings...

Have you actually read The 49 page report? They want to segregate everybody that is 65 and older away from everyone else including the people already in their party. They’re going to require 65 and older people to have a fit to travel form signed by a doctor. No more dining with friends. You can only dine with those in your family in the same state room. That means if you have family that are in different state rooms you will not be able to dine together. That’s only some of the restrictions they want to see instituted.WOW !!! Guess my cruising days are over....😢

The thought crossed my mind...but I have dismissed it for now 😉

Unfortunately, I think the future cruise passenger will have to jump through many different hoops when cruising resumes.
Hoops like:
- proof of insurance
- proof of vaccination (should one be available)
- proof of being fit to travel
- proof of permanent residence (to show you don't reside in a hot spot)
- proof of...whatever else is deemed necessary by travel authorities
For some, those hoops won't be worth it. For others, such hoops will be welcome as it means they can sail again. They will have adapted by having a folder saved on their computer where they can easily upload said proof as part of the pre-boarding check in process.
Sadly--yes...the "new norm"....

Good to see this.

was about to ask the same thing. We always get insurance but never with the cruise line. Wonder if you can just show proof you have it.
Who knows...but why should the consumer have to jump threw hoops to book a cruise !!!! Just saying...
-
Sadly...the "shake out" continues...I see many small cruise companies disbanding all together and big ones shedding some of their lines....(and if things do not improve...be gone all together)
-
Things seem to be changing by the day...weeks ago all seemed to be getting better...now..not so much.
It will be very hard for cruise lines to make any kind of decision anytime soon and when they do , as other have said, it will take quite a while to get all the logistics done (possible port changes, staffing, ship re locations, etc. )
-
If indeed this is what NCL is doing (and not an error) , it is totally wrong and a sleazy business tactic to "pad the bill".

OP--thanks for posting this, as I do think it is relevant especially if it implemented by other countries now or in the future.
