Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I'm only superstitious regarding sports, lol. If my team wins with me wearing a particular shirt or jersey (during playoffs), I'll wear it again for the next game. Fortune cookies are meh, and while I love peanut butter, I don't eat peanuts. Strange quote. Maybe on the meal. Zombies were one of my drinks of choice in college (once I was old enough). Pass on the wine. I haven't been to Invergordon. A good day in history! It's cool here, but sunny. Going down into the 40's the next few nights, with highs in the 70's. Busy day for me. I have a medical appointment in town late morning, and then PT this afternoon. And BFF and the guys from Germany want to go out for Mexican this evening (I told them not too late as I limit any nighttime driving due to vision issues). Woohoo on them finally capturing the escaped convict! @StLouisCruisers I like working on computers (and there's no one here to help anyway) and BFF asks for help sometimes, as he gets frustrated if it doesn't go right on the first go. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I like chocolate milk shakes, although I make chocolate protein shakes these days. I played a few video games years ago, and we should be encouraging all the time. Good quote. Not sure about the meal, I don't usually like peanut sauce. Pass on the drink and yes to the wine. I haven't been to Casablanca. I wasn't familiar with today's history. It's a pleasant 78F now and partly sunny. I guess a cold front is coming through, with rain this afternoon and we'll have morning lows in the upper 40's. Brrr. I finally got the lawn mowed yesterday. Edging took 2 hours, then an hour and a half to mow. It looks very nice now. I'm just back from PT and then going to my eye doctor's office to order new glasses. They should be ready in about 2 weeks. My eyes are feeling very irritated today; not sure what that's all about, and hopefully not the start of a flare. I'll put in extra drops just in case. @rafinmd I hope day by day you'll feel better. @Lady Hudson Yikes on that guy being so close to you. I wasn't happy to hear he'd obtained a weapon now. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. We remember those lives lost on 9-11 and all the subsequent health issues and deaths among first responders. We cannot praise emergency responders enough for all they do. Libraries are so important, especially for children and young adults (and us grown-ups too). I'll salute women baseball. Good quote. I prefer potato salad over macaroni salad. Pass on the drink and wine. I was fortunate to make it to Port Stanley (at the time I didn't realize people often couldn't stop there due to rough seas). St. Louis Blues is a great composition. I'm just in on a break. It started off cloudy and foggy here, and in the 60's. Now it's humid and the sun is starting to come out. I went out about 2 hours ago to do the edging and it took almost 2 hours and I used up a whole spool of string. The grass is high! So now hydrating and I will go back out to mow. I hope my batteries hold out for the whole thing. I remember being at work when the first plane hit one of the twin towers. I assumed a small plane accident. Then someone in the office said turn on the tv and we were all frozen in terror, especially later when told one plane was heading toward Pittsburgh. My friends from the UK called to see if we were ok. BFF was in Mexico for work, and couldn't get home. At home I just couldn't look away from the tv for days, often crying. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I didn't know grandparents, although I did know my DM's step-father and step-mother. I have several sewing machines, 2 of which were my DM's (she was an excellent seamstress). I think we swap ideas every day here on the Daily. Funny quote. I'll pass on the meal, the drink and the wine. I was in Amsterdam on a land trip before digital photography days. I was supposed to disembark there on my TA earlier this year, but it was changed to Rotterdam. It's cloudy, 70F and humid, with a high of 76. Possible rain later. I'm debating doing the lawn edging or watching the Steelers home opener instead. Tomorrow I absolutely must mow! I got notification that the Brain Health Study I'm in is ending next week. I get to keep the Apple watch they sent (I haven't used it since I already had one). Also I got word that my dear departed friend Ruth's DM will be coming over from the UK in the fall, for a few Penguins hockey games. That's how we all met, and she feels Ruth would want her to come. She's in her early 80's, but still vigorous. I just heard the planes overhead for the flyover at the stadium. Many years ago, after my mother retired from teaching, she taught adult illiterates to read. @marshhawk I hope you can get back with the nutritionist you had before. Although I can't imagine that any trained registered dietician couldn't work with a diabetic. @rafinmd So sorry to hear of your positive Covid test. I hope your symptoms remain mild. I had a slight sore throat 2 days ago, and some stuffiness, so I tested myself. Fortunately I was negative x 2. I'm noticing more folks wearing masks in the grocery store, and I think I'll join them and also at PT.

I didn't see much as my knee chose that day to act up and I could only limp around. I just got off the ship for a bit and stayed near the dock. . An important day in history for Brazil. It's cloudy and rainy here today, so I'll be inside during the day. Our friends from Germany want to go bar hopping, so BFF and I will drop them off, go to dinner (Hofbrauhaus) and sit by the river a while at the restaurant's tent, then pick them up later. @Crazy For Cats Enjoy your tour and no rain during it. 90 minutes is a big time change. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I'm rarely late for appointments, thankfully. I'm late for my coffee today as I'm just having it (I don't like to eat before PT). I like pizza but wouldn't have just cheese unless nothing else was available. I like pepperoni, and sometimes onions or green peppers in addition. We should be charitable every day. One of Ghandi's most famous quotes, and a great one. I like the meal, pass on the drink and yes to the wine. I have been to Italy, but not Trieste. An important day in history. It is HOT outside! The thermometer says 90 and the heat index of 95F. Some schools here are doing remote classes, as the schools don't have air conditioning. I'll be inside the rest of the day. I'm just back from PT and then a quick grocery store visit. The spotted lantern flies are still a nuisance. Many around the grocery store and my PT building. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Happy Labor Day! People should always bring their manners to work. Not many newspaper carriers around any more. Spice blends improve the flavor of food. I like the quote. Maybe on the meal, pass on the drink and wine. I have been to Sitka. Another hot and humid day here today. There were extra EMS at today's Labor Day Parade downtown. We have one of the country's oldest and largest Labor Day Parades. The city is opening cooling centers tomorrow and Wednesday. I don't really have any plans for my day. The lawn will have to wait until the weekend, when it's cooler. We had a high school quarterback collapse on Friday at a game. He has a brain bleed and collapsed lung.
