  3. I was confused as the Oct 12 cruise is NYC to Montreal, and the Oct 24 cruise is Montreal to Miami.
  4. Good afternoon. I managed to get the lawn mowed this morning, but it was hot, hot, hot. I had to take several breaks, drinking zero sugar PowerAde, to get done. And then it took a good hour to cool down once I was finished. @aliaschief Are you doing a B2B on Seabourn Quest? @Copper10-8 Love the picture! @luvteaching Thank you for sharing the lovely tribute to Phil. As others have said, it was so gracious of you to mention his healthcare team. @sailingdutchy Wonderful photos, Tony. @StLouisCruisers Good news on the dermatology visit.
  5. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. No one here to kiss. My DM made the best fried chicken, but I don't make it. Not sure about umbrella covers having a day; some of my little ones that go in a purse do have covers, as do patio umbrellas. I like the quote. The meal sounds good. Pass on the drink and wine. Interesting day in history. I've been to Spain, but not Valencia. I'm trying to wake up from all the benadryl I took yesterday for my injection. I'm hoping the RA in my hands will calm down as my hand joints are painful and it's hard to open jars or grip things. It's going to be quite hot here today. I would like to try to mow the lawn before it gets too warm. @summer slope Thinking of you after your hard day yesterday. @StLouisCruisers Lovely photos from Valencia. Good luck at the Derm appointment. @Denise T Sorry to hear about the effect Covid had on your diabetes; keep at it! @smitty34877 It's great to hear that Lou is home! I'm glad family is pitching in to help out. @aliaschief Nice photos. @kazu Sorry to hear Ivan is still resisting the pills. I hope the vet has some good insight into what's going on. I hope your follow-up report is good. Lovely flower pics. @cruising sister Lots of prayers for baby Murphy and her medical team. @superoma I don't have an induction cooktop, but used one at my host's house in Germany. Things heat up really quickly, and there was even a turbo setting used for things like boiling water. I didn't do a lot of cooking there, so I hope someone else with more experience will chime in. His stove was Miele (as were all the appliances) and the pans were also made by Miele. @sterling2 Welcome to the Daily! @ger_77 Happy Birthday to DH's DD. @marshhawk Sorry about the back pain. It sounds like maybe you need to see the doctor again. Good luck with the MRI results. And I hope Chuck's qualifies. @luvteaching Thinking of you. Prayers for the Care List and I hope there are many with something to Celebrate.
  6. Today’s Care list: The passing of 57redbird’s cousin Chris with glioblastoma 6/30 The passing of cruising sister’s Aunt 7/3 1Angelcat’s friend B with medical issues Smitty34877’s DH Lou recovering from surgery Cruising sister’s newborn great niece Murphy undergoing surgery today Vict0riann’s Pat with urinary and kidney infections Summer slope with a health issue Lady Hudson’s DH needing PT for leg strength Ill Dailyite pets – Kazu’s Ivan summer slope’s Bailey crossing the Rainbow bridge yesterday Canadian/US wildfires, unhealthy air quality for many Tornado and storm victims; dangerous heat conditions Shooting victims again Citizens of Ukraine From the rotation: StLouisCruiser’s friend’s DB Mark with bile duct cancer Tana’s pulmonary issues Marshhawk with elbow inflammation, lung MRI today JazzyV’s friend Ruth entering hospice care, but still fighting cancer Celebrations and Shoutouts: Vict0riann’s Pat feeling better Seasick sailor extending her cruise and getting a fully accessible cabin Kochleffel’s new fur babies The Daily Gardening Club posting wonderful flower pictures All the contributors to the Fleet Report/Daily Upcoming Cruises or At Sea: Oceansaway17 (Liberty of the Seas to July 8), Loveandpeas (Volendam to July 12, celebrating 14th anniversary), and Cruzin Terri (Oceania Marina to July 23)
  7. Back from PT. Ouch! But I can see a bit of progress. This was only my 5th session, with exercises I do in-between at home. Ugh on stupid people. Someone yesterday set off a firecracker near the crowd of thousands downtown last night for fireworks, causing a panic (I suppose people thinking it was gunshots), with people running. There were bag checks on the way into the park for alcohol, weapons, and firecrackers, but this was just outside the park. 4 people were hospitalized and 33 treated by EMTs. This is why I stay home, sadly. @Cruising-along Sorry to hear of nearby wildfires. Thanks for the Vigo photos. @grapau27 Those dinners look good! @Vict0riann I can sympathize with how you feel post-physiotherapy.
  8. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Apple turnovers are just ok, never wore a bikini, and used to be a work-a-holic before I retired. Interesting quote, typical Wilde. I like chili, both vegetarian and with meat. In college, when my roommate and I would go to a Polynesian place on Sundays (no dorm dinner), we'd drink Mai Tais and fill up on the free bar appetizers. And yes to the wine. We owe a lot to Isaac Newton. I haven't been to Vigo. It's a late start for me today. I woke up at 6 and today's Daily wasn't started yet. Fell back asleep and the next thing I knew it was 7:30! There were people shooting off firecrackers until almost 1AM. Oddly, some guy ran up on my porch around 11:45PM, rang the bell, and ran off! Was that some kind of prank? Looked like a teenager from my video doorbell. It's hot and hazy today, and an air action alert. We have an inversion and the smoke from the downtown fireworks is trapped in the lower atmosphere. I have PT early this afternoon and then may stop by Aldi. @grapau27 Thanks for the nice photos. @StLouisCruisers Hopefully no bad storms for you Sandi. @Mr. Boston Exciting that your retirement is coming up soon! @summer slope So sorry to hear this news about Bailey. You're doing what's best for him, but I know it hurts. @horseymike Great picture! @smitty34877 Exciting news that DH Lou may come home today. @kazu Thinking of you and Ivan. Your vet sounds great. @Overhead Fred Your place in Canada is in a gorgeous setting. @aliaschief Excellent photos from VIgo. @cruising sister Yikes, a storage locker on top of all that's in your Aunt's house. And your other Aunt going back to her NYC apartment. Prayers for baby Murphy and her parents, as they go through the tests and surgery tomorrow. I'm sorry you felt lonely; with no family, I know that feeling, especially on holidays. @dfish Thanks for the recipes. I have several chili recipes that add cocoa for flavor. @Seasick Sailor That toe sounds painful. @Nickelpenny I used to make Greek yogurt using my Instant Pot, but haven't done it in a couple of years. I should start again. Sorry about your inconsiderate neighbors; at least you have management to run interference for you. @rafinmd Sorry you're feeling lethargic today; maybe it's the heat? @Vict0riann I'm glad Pat is feeling better, although sorry about having to go to Emergency again. And I hope PT can help your pain. @luvteaching Thinking of you and Jeff. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers to those Celebrating.
  9. Seasick sailor extending her cruise and getting a fully accessible cabin Kochleffel’s new fur babies The Daily Gardening Club posting wonderful flower pictures All the contributors to the Fleet Report/Daily Upcoming Cruises or At Sea: Oceansaway17 (Liberty of the Seas to July 8), Loveandpeas (Volendam to July 12, celebrating 14th anniversary), and Cruzin Terri (Oceania Marina to July 23)
  10. There she is. I hear sirens, I wonder if from a 4th of July parade?
  11. Thanks John. That picture was taken in January 2012, so it sounds like right before her first move. Surprising how much she's been moved around out there. Roy, yes, that was January 17, 2012 and looking it up, the Serenity left on the 18th to start a World Cruise.
  12. Good morning (when I started this). Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Happy 4th of July! I like bbq's but won't be attending one today. Country music is ok; not my favorite. I never tried frying an egg on a sidewalk. Not sure what to make of the quote. I like the meal, pass on the drink, and yes to the wine if bought for me. My 2012 Princess Hawaii cruise left from the Port of LA, but I didn't see any of the city. It started off very foggy here today, and cloudy, but it's slowly clearing. We've had a lot of rain the last few days. I emptied 2-3/4" of rain out of my gauge this morning, from the last couple of days, and mushrooms are popping up in the lawn. Hopefully no rain for the downtown fireworks. I have on occasion gone down there to watch, but it's too crowded and hard to get home, and in recent years there's been some violence, so I watch on TV (although not the same). No plans today. I was shocked to see it was 8AM when I woke up today. I'd gone to bed a little earlier and slept 8-1/2 hours. @summer slope I hope Bailey is feeling better. @StLouisCruisers Hugs on this sad anniversary of your DF's passing. DD's tree is lovely. Nice photo of you and DH. @cruising sister My condolences to you and your family on the passing of your Aunt. It sounds like a lot of decisions and work coming up due to the living status of the 2 sisters. @smitty34877 Good news that DH is feeling better and may come home soon. @kazu I'm sorry to hear Ivan is needing both meds and now not taking them easily. I take Gabapentin and had to decrease it a little in the past as it made me stagger (I take 4 a day now). @Lady Hudson Prayers that the therapy will result in stronger legs for DH. @Cruzin Terri I'm glad you got to see a bit of Haugesund and thanks for the photos. I hope Jim is feeling better soon. @0106 Thanks for the explanation of the quote; it makes it more understandable now. @dobiemom I hope your GF is feeling better soon, so you two can enjoy your trip to Vegas. @rafinmd Thanks for the photos of the Iowa and Long Beach . Nice photo of you with your visitors. My first HAL cruise was on the Statendam (NZ to Australia). @ger_77 Frost??? Wow. @Quartzsite Cruiser Nice photos from LA. @kochleffel I hope you see DaVinci and Mona Lisa soon; although it's probably good they hide tonight if there are fireworks near you. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers to those with something to Celebrate. From our stateroom, leaving the Port of LA. The SS Lane Victory is an American Victory-class cargo ship used in World War II, the Korean War and Vietnam War. The ship was preserved in 1989 to serve as a museum ship in the San Pedro area of Los Angeles, and is a National Historic Landmark. For Roy, passing Crystal Serenity as we leave port (2012)

  14. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I've never built a scarecrow, find it hard to compliment my mirror most days, and think some disobedience is worthwhile (thinking of the civil rights lunch counter sit-ins for example). I like the Ghandi quote. Maybe on the meal, pass on the drink and yes to the wine (if bought for me). I haven't been to Stavanger. Another rainy day here, including thunderstorms last night. At least I had no recurrence of a power outage, although people near me had theirs out 12 hours yesterday as opposed to my 3 hours. On an up note I had an email from my friend Ruth in the UK, who said she didn't know why her Dad sent out such a depressing email, since she's still fighting! Great to hear. @StLouisCruisers Great Stavanger photos. @Denise T Scary storms! Fortunately just heavy rain out here in Western PA; and some mild flooding. @ottahand7 I hope you have some good catches today while fishing. @cruising sister Nice photos. @smitty34877 I am so sorry to hear DH had setbacks yesterday; many prayers for him, his medical team and the family. @kazu Oh no on Ivan being so sleepy that he's not eating or drinking. Hopefully switching meds helps. @RMLincoln It sounds like DGD and her DH were a big help to you while they were there. @Crazy For Cats Oh no on more layoffs, Jake. Scary times! @ger_77 It sounds like a fun time yesterday, seeing former colleagues of DH. @rafinmd Nice sunset photo. @marshhawk Good luck with therapy (hope it helps more than it hurts) and I hope the MRI shows no change or shrinkage of the growth. @bennybear Wow on that tornado. Sorry to hear of property and animal loss, but thankfully no human loss of life. Cool on that heart photo. @summer slope Awww, sorry to hear that about Bailey. Thinking of you both. @Seasick Sailor Joy I hope your toe is feeling better. @luvteaching Thinking of you and Jeff as you navigate this difficult time. Prayers for the Care List and a Cheer for those Celebrating.

  16. Now that I've consumed about 36 ounces of coffee, I can face the afternoon/evening. @lobsternight It sounds like you're very talented; hopefully you'll share a few pics of the gazebo when it's completed. @Cruising-along Lovely flowers. @StLouisCruisers Thanks for the Cagliari photos. Wow on all those emails. @Sharon in AZ Nice Charlottetown pictures. And of the Dailyites gathering! @kazu So sorry you and Ivan had to go to the emergency vet. I hope the meds fix him right up. And you're not stupid to be in tears over Ivan, just loving and caring of him. @Seasick Sailor Oh no on the tumble. I'm glad Allen is ok and hope your toe and bumps and bruises aren't too painful. And congrats on extending your cruise. @Cruzin Terri I'm sorry the weather isn't cooperating on your trip. And I hope Jim's cold isn't too bad, and that you don't catch it. @bennybear Ugh on the hail damage being more extensive than you first thought.
  17. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I try not to forget significant days. I haven't seen any UFO's. Special recreation for the disabled is very important and I hope to see more accessibility. True quote. I like the meal, but it's too carb heavy to eat more than on occasion. Maybe on the drink and the wine is out of my budget. I haven't been to Olbia. Rain has continued here since yesterday afternoon, at times hard, prompting flooding warnings in some areas. Then I was awakened around 2:30AM by feeling like it was hard to breathe, and at first I thought from stuffiness, until I realized the power (and CPAP) was off. And it was warm without the ceiling fan and I couldn't fall back asleep. And some inconsiderate person was setting off firecrackers at 4AM! Power finally came back on around 5:15. I managed to fall back asleep until about 10. Sigh. The electrical infrastructure in this area is so old and this goes on all the time, even without storms or thunder/lightning. I need a vat of coffee!! @Cruzin Terri Sorry you missed Skagen due to the weather conditions. @grapau27 Thank you for the link to Fr. David's sermon. @aliaschief Great memes. @StLouisCruisers I like seeing deer, but around here there are so many car accidents due to them. @ottahand7 Sorry yesterday's fishing wasn't good. I'm glad your toe is healing. @cruising sister So sorry to hear about your aunt; prayers for her and the family. @rafinmd News of the mass shooting in Baltimore is national. Prayers for those killed and injured. @Denise T Enjoy the new TV! @dobiemom I still ask for appointment cards until I'm sure the appointment is in my phone. One time I added an eye doctor's appointment to my phone but didn't hit save, had no card, and had to call and ask when my appointment was once I realized it wasn't on the phone. @Nickelpenny Enjoy the road trip and seeing your friend's jewelry! @ger_77 That sounds like a fun gas station. Enjoy the friend's birthday celebration. @durangoscots So sad that the hiker hasn't been found. @bennybear Oh no on the tornado and storm damage. Thanks for the photos from Cagliari. @horseymike Welcome to the Daily! @luvteaching Continued prayers for you and Jeff for peace at this difficult time. @smitty34877 I hope DH is doing better. Also prayers for Tana and her caregivers. Prayers for the Care List and a Toast for those Celebrating.

  19. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Rabbit, Rabbit, White Rabbit! Happy Canada Day! I like chicken wings, jokes and salute those who are devoted to duty. Interesting quote. I like Greek salads, san olives (I've tried to like olives, even in Greece and Italy, but no). Pass on the drink and yes to the wine (although a bit pricey). I've never been to Halifax, but it's a port on next year's cruise. It's partly sunny now and warm, but rain/thunderstorms are on the way. Thankfully the AQI is down to 68, much better. I'm sore from yardwork yesterday and PT. So I think I'll just do tidying up inside today, and catch up on a few programs on TV. My thumb is still quite painful from the RA, so it's hard to do too much. @StLouisCruisers Thanks for the Halifax photos. @kazu I hope it dries out soon. Isn't it true that the rain doesn't seem to go where it's needed most? @RedneckBob Haha! @Quartzsite Cruiser Lovely photos. @ottahand7 Nice catch! @dfish I'm sure the house will seem too quiet when River is gone. Thanks for the recipes. @Mtn2Sea Appreciate the photos from Halifax. @smitty34877 I'm glad Tana's friend was able to help out. I hope DH is feeling better. @Nickelpenny Oh no, a non-functioning coffee maker is a true emergency! Thanks for the photos from Halifax. @kochleffel Interesting photos. @rafinmd Great sunset picture. @Cruzin Terri I'm glad you enjoyed your tour in Copenhagen. Sorry Oslo didn't work out. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those with something to Celebrate.

  21. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I haven't seen a meteor, but have a watch with a meteorite dial. Still not shaking hands. NOW has championed women's causes. Not sure about the quote. Pass on the meal (fish) and I'll take the drink and wine. I haven't been to PEI, but will visit next October 2024 on a Boston, Main, Canada cruise. Just getting around to posting. I wanted to get the lawn mowed, and was afraid it would rain this afternoon. Also storms tomorrow and Sunday. When I woke up this AM the AQI was over 200. It was supposed to go down by this afternoon. So I donned a KN95 mask and went at it. The level was around 180, now down to 165. It's humid here, and I was sweating and tired by noon. But I had PT at 1PM. I pushed through PT and can now relax. One side of my throat is sore; I don't know if it's related to the air. Hopefully I'm not getting sick, and I'll take a zinc lozenge to try to ward off anything. And my crown feels loose. But all small things compared to what others are going through. @kazu Your flowers are awesome, as usual. @Denise T Ugh on the neighbor situation. Mine on either side are ok, but do nothing to their yards, so I'm always trimming back their unruly stuff, and when I have tree trimming done I have their encroaching tree limbs done too. Nice PEI photos. @Crazy For Cats Hopefully Jasper's issue is easy to fix; I hear an overactive thyroid is pretty common in cats. @smitty34877 Happy 75th Birthday to Lou! I'm glad to hear his bloodwork is improved and I hope he's feeling better. I hope you can get some help at home this weekend in caring for Tana. @aliaschief I'm glad you're home safely and I'm sure you're tired. @dfish Sorry to hear Sue has another migraine headache. I've been having headaches and I'm trying to discover if they're weather/air related or the new med I'm on. @Quartzsite Cruiser Great photos from PEI. I hope the battery issue is now a non-issue. @Heartgrove Thanks for the PEI photos. @ger_77 Sorry to hear your door isn't perfect; they should fix it (maybe like they pull dents in cars?) or put in a new one. @Nickelpenny Thanks for sharing your PEI photos. @kochleffel Happy Retirement Day! @luvteaching Karen, hugs and prayers for you. I'm glad you have friends and family to support you. @cruising sister Good to hear that little Murphy is doing well. @bennybear Happy Birthday to your DH! @Cruising-along Nice photos. That lobster roll looks yummy; I've never had one, yet. @57redbird My condolences to you, his widow and family on the passing of your cousin Chris. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers to those Celebrating.

  23. Unfortunately more sad news. The father of my friend Ruth in the UK emailed me this morning to say that in a few days she's being put in an "end of life" hospice. She has bravely fought cancer for 10 years. Due to the pandemic I haven't seen her in person since 2018, when she and her DM last came over to see the Pens play. We met and bonded through hockey. She just turned 60 in March. Asking for prayers for a peaceful transition for Ruth.
  24. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I'm a camera fan (mainly Nikon), and have quite a few, including some vintage ones. I've learned to like hugs, after growing up in a non-touchy environment. Kids like mud to play in. Good quote; it takes actions and deeds to show Christian faith. I'll pass on the meal and drink (amaretto). Yes to the wine, if someone else is buying. We couldn't dock at Ushuaia on my SA/Antarctica cruise on Zaandam, due to high winds. I was disappointed as I wanted to go to Tierra del Fuego. Very strange weather here. Dense fog and an AQI of 254! So no going outside for me today to mow the lawn.
