  2. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I like Donald Duck, not sure about strawberry-rhubarb pie, and support writers' rights. Local strawberries haven't done well due to our drought, and some strawberry festivals were cancelled. I like the quote. Pass on the meal (fish), maybe on the drink, no on the wine. I'll take Roy's meal. I haven't been to Korcula Island. I'm back from the PCP. I'm all congested and coughing again. after I thought I'd gotten over the cold I picked up in Germany. She thinks maybe the hours spent outside doing yard work on Tuesday and Wednesday are the culprit, with the bad air quality (it didn't seem that bad to me). She wants me to stay indoors this weekend; I have plenty to do inside this house. She also was concerned about my 2 falls. Then I had bloodwork done after the visit. But this afternoon I'm going to a local park with BFF, where a plaque in his late Dad's memory is bring put up. His Dad (and Dad's GF) walked there almost daily for the last 20+ years, and his Dad photographed lots of the flora there which the park kept much of. @cruzn single I hope you're doing ok. @StLouisCruisers Sorry your mailbox got messed up. @kazu Congrats on paying for your cruise. @dfish Have a great time at the lake house. @cunnorl Scary about the nearby tornado; good news on no injuries. Good to hear you're doing better. @RMLincoln I'm glad things are slowly getting straightened out with the banking issues. @Quartzsite Cruiser Thanks for the photos of Korcula. @marshhawk I got an exemption from emissions check (still had to pay for the sticker), but not general inspection, for driving less than 4000 miles a year. Good to hear you were able to sleep in your bed last night. @ger_77 So sorry to hear of the death of your friend's son. Condolences to you, and her family and friends. @aliaschief It sounds like you're having a fabulous time. I went to Fatima when I was in Lisbon. @loveandpeas Nice to see you posting and thanks for the recipe link. Prayers for the Care List and a toast to the Celebration List.

  4. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Best friends are a blessing. Not sure what my poison is; on the cruise it was mudslides, lol. The oceans need protection from mankind. Sometimes the quote may be true. Maybe on the meal, yes to the drink and pass on the wine. I haven't been to Raiatea Island. Just back from the eye doctor. As I drove into the city, I could tell there was a haziness to the air. I put my car on recirculate for the air. Of course I woke up with my eye red, hurting and light sensitive. I started with the stronger steroid drops immediately, and somewhat concerned about the bright light the doctor uses for the dilated exam. Fortunately the drops kicked in by the time I was seen. She did see some cells, indicative of active inflammation, in the eye, but not a whole lot. I'll keep up those drops this afternoon. Yardwork is done for now, so I'll just relax the rest of today. We're all hoping for rain here; none in the last 18 days and the lawn is parched. @cruzn single Prayers for a successful surgery today. @aliaschief The tomb of Columbus is very impressive. @dfish While recently in Germany I knew that bacon was referred to as speck. @ottahand7 Wow on a wolf being that close! @smitty34877 I am so sorry to hear that DH will require more surgery and chemo. Prayers for you both as you navigate this course. @StLouisCruisers Prayers for your friend's DB and that the chemo is successful. Thanks for the photos of Uturoa. @marshhawk I hope you'll be able to sleep in your bed soon. @Cruzin Terri I hope you're feeling better soon. What a pain getting DBIL's estate seems to be! @ger_77 Sorry your power went out and the stove clock getting toasted. That wakes me up too when the CPAP stops, although now I have a battery backup I can plug it into. @Heartgrove I hope they figure out Sue's rapid heart beat issues. @summer slope Done! @Love the beach Those pictures are amazing, in a scary way. @Quartzsite Cruiser @Mtn2Sea Lovely photos. @Vict0riann Prayers for Pat with his health issues. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  6. Whew! Just in from 3 hours of yardwork, although the last half my knees and back were screaming at me. I came in and it was hard to sit down. I see ibuprofen in my future. I have lots of appointments this month, so I will discuss all this with my doctors. I'm cooling down with a dish of ice cream! (not chocolate). Duh, just posted this on yesterday's thread! @Quartzsite Cruiser BFF had a lot of laserdiscs. He replaced the movies with DVD's, so I sold the laser discs on ebay. I had a Sony video camera (?Handycam) that I used to record a jazz trio I followed. I just got the tapes transferred to dvd and they were beginning to disintegrate, with just static in places on the recordings. Wow on those new owners not staying; although on the news they said a lot of people bought houses urgently during Covid when houses were hard to come by and then decided it wasn't right for them. @durangoscots Most of my flowering bushes look half dead this year. The bottom half of my azalea bushes, my hydrangeas with no buds on the old wood, my mountain fire bush, my rose bushes. I don't know what happened over the winter to cause this. @bennybear Great photos! I hope you don't lose your credits due to the postponements. @Cruising-along Excellent photos. @rafinmd Great sunset photo.
  7. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Although I love chocolate, I'm not a big fan of plain chocolate ice cream. I still have a VCR although I don't use it; I had plans to copy a few tapes to CD. Tailors are important at times, although hard to find nowadays. Funny quote. Maybe on the meal; shrimp is one of the few fish/seafood things I'll eat. Pass on the drink. Yes to the wine. I haven't been to Catania. We're under an air quality alert again. It's sunny and will be in the 70's later, so not too hot today. It's injection day for me. I also would like to get more bush trimming in, as tomorrow is trash pickup. I did manage to talk to someone from the water line replacement crew, and they said the sidewalk will be repaired, just not by them. Hopefully that won't take too long. I worked on my photos from Le Havre/Normandy yesterday, which was appropriate and thought provoking. Tomorrow I go to see the eye doctor, then the PCP on Friday for an annual wellness visit. I'll discuss getting another Covid booster as I think they recommend every 6 months for the immunocompromised. The trial for the accused gunman of the synagogue shootings in 2018 started last week. Sadly horrific details come out daily from law enforcement and survivors of the attack. Sad. There's counseling offered for anyone too disturbed by hearing the details. @StLouisCruisers I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well, and I hope you're better soon. Great photos. @ottahand7 I still have an iPod too. At one point it wouldn't charge as I'd left it sitting a long time. I bought a kit to replace the battery myself, thinking what's the worst that could happen? It has worked well since, and I even bought something that plugs into it and makes it bluetooth, if I don't want to plug in headphones. @kazu Good to hear your neighbor is doing well. I put my cacti out a couple of days ago; I think 40's are the lowest we'll go (tomorrow morning supposedly). Send your rain this way! We've had no moisture in weeks here. @smitty34877 I hope you can enjoy some relaxing family time at the Cape next month. @aliaschief Thanks for sharing your visit to Gibraltar; brings back memories. @Cruzin Terri I hope the PMR flareup calms down quickly. @RMLincoln Oh my, what a mess. Prayers that things get straightened out soon. @Nickelpenny I'm glad you made it safely. I first drove in NJ; then Boston in college, and think if you can drive there you can drive anywhere. @dfish Can't wait to see the pictures of the house when finished. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating. Be well everyone.

  9. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I will salute all those who were involved in D-Day. I have a new perspective after visiting the beaches of Normandy on my cruise in May. Higher education is important for many, including me. I've been getting exercise with yard work, not gardening this year. I used to love playing with a yo-yo as a kid; it was hard to find things to do alone, with no other kids in the neighborhood. Great quote. I like the meal. Pass on the drink. I did drink some kabinetts while in Germany, even though I usually stick to reds. I haven't been to Tsuruga. Another nice day here today. I may attempt trimming some of the front bushes, but maybe not all of them today, to spare my back. We are under an air quality alert, due to smoke from the Canadian wild fires. I don't see signs of the water line replacement people, in order to ask about my sidewalk repair. @Nickelpenny Welcome to PA! And safe travels to NY state. @StLouisCruisers Yay on the treadmill working, and congrats to DH for getting it fixed! @kazu Wow, I wouldn't have known that was a tulip. I'm glad your neighbor is doing ok and is in good hands. @smitty34877 Thanks for another photo of Miss Camilla. She's gotten so big right before our eyes. @Denise T Welcome back! Your live reports were great and appreciated. @mamaofami It's good to hear that DH is continuing to recover from his stroke. @ger_77 Happy Birthday to your DSIL! @Seasick Sailor Good to hear there's no toe fracture, but the nail issues sounds painful! Get better soon. Aww, what a cutie your nephew is! @aliaschief It sounds like you're having a grand time. @1ANGELCAT A nice tribute to Ninja. 11. I found a few pictures that I scanned into the PC from slides, of the balloon launch at the 3 Rivers Regatta (1985).
  12. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Hot air balloons look like fun, but I've never been on one. There used to be balloon festivals here, and being a photographer, it was a great opportunity to get colorful photos. I like frozen yogurt, although real gelato is my favorite. The environment is so in need of protection. I like the quote. I'll pass on the meal(fish) and drink. Yes on the wine. I've been to Nassau, way back in the 70's, when it was still nice; and once on a Disney Wonder cruise, but we did an excursion to Atlantis. It's cooler today, as we started off in the upper 40's. I took advantage of it and went out and trimmed the back shrubs on one side. They actually belong to my neighbor, but there's an old fence on their side of them, and they never come into my yard to cut them. So I've trimmed them for the more than 25 years I've lived here. There's also all kinds of vines growing on their side, that I trim as much away as I can. They are nice folks, but just don't do much to their outside stuff, which grows all into my yard. I'll do my front shrubs another day. The water line people are back working in the street. I'm trying to catch someone to talk to about if they will repair my sidewalk. I can't see this being my responsibility. @Nickelpenny I knew you'd like Mammoth Cave! Safe travels to PA. @kazu Good news that your foot is healing. Prayers for recovery for your neighbor. @dfish Exciting that the painting is starting! @StLouisCruisers Good luck to Ren and his team in the upcoming tournament. Oh my on the injuries to the boys; sounds like a freak accident and I hope Jackson and Colten are ok. Lots going on with DS's family! Nice photos from Nassau. @smitty34877 Good news on DH's progress. @marshhawk It sounds like the cats are enjoying the screened porch. @cruising sister Sorry you're still dragging. I think my respiratory crud was acquired after my cruise; the person I was staying with in Germany was coughing a lot. And I too need to get in shape for travel, once my knees and back allow. @Seasick Sailor Oh my on the dog vs armadillo! And oh no on your toe! I hope it's not broken. Are you getting an x-ray? @Horizon chaser 1957 Ugh on the tent caterpillars evading your efforts to get rid of them. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List A few pictures from my stop in Nassau on Disney Wonder in 2007. 14. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily @richwmn. I like applesauce cake and cheese. No cat here. Not sure what to make of the quote. I'll pass on the meal (seafood) and drink. Yes to the syrah if someone else is paying. I haven't been to Corner Brook NL. It's a little cooler here today, in the upper 70's instead of near 90 like the last few days. We had a sprinkle of rain yesterday; not nearly enough. I got up and went out to return the shoes I had bought for the cruise (uncomfortable) but left home. Then off to Sam's Club to pick up a few things. Just now I'm having my coffee and muffin. I was glad to have the shopping cart at the store, or I don't think I could have managed much walking around, between my back and my knees. I see my PCP next week, so I hope to get some help with the back. @grapau27 Thanks for the link to Fr. David's sermon today. @kazu I hope your foot is feeling better. @Nickelpenny Enjoy Mammoth Cave today. @smitty34877 I'm glad you're able to have help from the aide during the week, to give you all a bit of a respite. @StLouisCruisers Nice photos of Corner Brook. Hugs on this sad anniversary of DS and the twins' passing. Congratulations to DS and DDIL on their anniversary! I went to SA and Antarctica on Zaandam and it's a favorite ship of mine. Nice to have a DH who's so handy! I hope the treadmill works as expected tomorrow. @cat shepard It sounds like you've had a great birthday week. @Horizon chaser 1957 That tent caterpillar infestation sounds awful. @marshhawk I'm glad you got a work assignment. Sorry to hear that Fawn is still missing. Continue to rest until you feel stronger. @Mtn2Sea Thanks for the photos. I think I see the man in the mountain. 16. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report and Daily @richwmn. I'll salute the Chinese Dragon Boat Festivals. I like walking on park trails, but sadly it's not something you do alone these days. I haven't ridden a bicycle in many years. Funny comedian quote. The meal sounds good for a side dish, with some protein, but is high in carbs. Pass on the drink and maybe on the wine ($$$). I haven't been to Dover, but think I saw the white cliffs on some trip. I'll have to dig into the archives. I'm just back from a quick stop at Aldi, before it got too hot out or the store too crowded. I'm not happy, as I saw yesterday that the crew working on the water line took out half of one sidewalk square of concrete and also destroyed that section of grass strip by the curb. I'd assume they have to fix my sidewalk, but I'll likely have to reseed that grass area. There's been no rain here for 2 weeks; I just turned on the outside spigots and put out the hoses. No other plans for the day; I may go through one closet and find stuff I don't wear and put it in the donation pile. @StLouisCruisers @richwmn @Quartzsite Cruiser @Mtn2Sea @kazu Thanks for the Dover/Canterbury photos. @aliaschief Have a great cruise! @Nodakboiler Welcome to the Daily! @Nickelpenny Good to hear you're having a great time in your travels! @0106 Nice Assateague pictures. My prickley pear are going to have lots of blooms later this year, from the look of them. @Heartgrove It's good to hear that Sam still has some good days. @marshhawk I hope you and DH are starting to feel better. @ger_77 Prayers for comfort for all attending the memorial service. @kazu Ouch on your accident! @superoma Having your niece there to help was a blessing. 18. I am so sorry to hear this news, especially on the heels of losing Fluff. (((Hugs))) Nothing to report after my appointment this AM. I was going to do errands after, but I have a package coming that requires a signature, and my walking was hard today due to knee pain. I think maybe the yardwork was a bit much. If the package comes before 4, I may run to Aldi's for a few things, putting off the big box store until Sunday. I went out on the porch when I got home, and the workers yelled that they were done and the water was back on. Now the big hole in the street is being filled in.
  19. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I don't know anyone named Bubba, and am so-so on Rocky Road ice cream. I like my current dentist, but loved my former dentist, who retired 2 years ago due to medical issues (we jokingly said we grew up together, as I'd gone to him for about 30 years). And yes to National Donut Day. Funny quote. Pass on the meal, and no to the drink. Yes to the wine. We owe a debt to Marconi. I haven't been to Exmouth. Another hot day expected, with a high of 90F. When I was out mowing yesterday, a truck pulled up and put out cones. The guy said my and my neighbor's water line to the main street line were lead and being replaced; I had my line to the house replaced a few years ago due to a leak. So I got an early shower this AM, and the jackhammering started around 7:15! I don't know how long the water will be off. I hope they don't mess up my sidewalk or the lawn strip out there. I've got a Neurology appointment and then some errands and grocery shopping, so I'll be out of the house a while. I filled some pitchers with water last night. @Mr. Boston Congrats to David on his retirement! @Nickelpenny Continued safe travels on the road. BFF and I visited Mammoth Cave in 2017, on our way back from going to Nashville for the solar eclipse. @Cruzin Terri I'm glad you got new flights, but sorry about the added expense. @kazu So funny about Ivan and his toys. @StLouisCruisers Sorry the treadmill is still out of commission; I had a Nordictrack ski machine years ago and had trouble using it, so sold it. @LuauQueen Welcome to the Daily! @Crazy For Cats Amelia is saying "who me?". @aliaschief I'm glad you made it safely to Barcelona. Enjoy the tapas. @kazu I have that Nickelpenny leaves on the 10th, so she'll be added tomorrow (7 day countdown). Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for those Celebrating.

  21. Good morning. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. Rabbit, rabbit, white rabbit. The Heimlich maneuver has saved many lives. I try to say something nice every day. The DARE program is important in schools. Good quote. Pass on the meal (fish), maybe on the drink and yes to the red wine (if someone else buys it for me). I haven't been to Puerto Madero. It's going to be another hot day here. About 40 schools are doing at home learning the rest of the week, as they have no AC. We also have some air quality issues from the Canadian fires. I got the yard edged yesterday and half of it mowed. I'll finish the other side this morning, before it gets too hot. Then laundry. The knees held up pretty well, but by the time I stopped working yesterday I was pretty sore. I don't know if it was the mild winter, but my hydrangeas had no buds on the old wood, as they usually do, although there's new growth. Also my rose bush didn't bloom. It's been very dry as well, so I'll need to do some watering. I may try to find a tomato plant or two at the garden center, although I know it's late. @StLouisCruisers Thanks for the photos. @kazu The pictures of the fires are so scary. @1ANGELCAT Oh no on the electricity shut off in this heat; hopefully they'll reschedule it. Sorry to hear that Ninja is not doing well. Prayers for all in need and Cheers for those with something to Celebrate. Be well everyone.

  23. Good afternoon. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I don't like macaroons (coconut texture thing). Saving one's hearing is important, as is no tobacco. Good quote. I'll pass on the meal, drink and wine. I haven't been to Santa Cruz de Tenerife. It's sunny and hot here. I wanted to do some yard work this AM, but didn't want to get sweaty, as I had an early afternoon haircut. I brought my stylist some chocolate from Europe and a mug, as he'd kindly cut my grass once while I was gone. Now I'm waiting for some shade, to go out and get started. The knees are not as bad today, thankfully. Laundry needs to be done too and a trip to the grocery store. @MrSnuffleupagus Welcome to the Daily! @superoma Thanks for the lists. I'll resume posting them tomorrow. I can relate, as I'm helping BFF go through his DD DF's house; unfortunately he saved strange things, and had bought multiples of many supplies. It will take months to get through it all. @StLouisCruisers I'm glad you're feeling better. I've been meaning to ask what brand treadmill you have, as I may have to replace mine. Thanks for the great photos from Santa Cruz. @kazu That was so nice of your neighbors to do. @grapau27 Nice photos. @RMLincoln I hope DH gets a good report from the glaucoma specialist. @richwmn Thanks for the Tenerife photos. @dfish I'm glad you're feeling well, and resuming the daily meal. Thanks to @0106 for stepping up in your absence. @Nickelpenny Those macaroons look great! Safe travels tomorrow. @marshhawk So sorry to hear Chuck is also positive; I hope you both feel better soon. @aliaschief Safe travels tomorrow. @ger_77 I'm glad they're investigating DH's angina and that the stress test was ok. @Vict0riann Happy Birthday to Pat! Thanks for the photos. @Quartzsite Cruiser Great photos. @SusieKIslandGirl Safe trip home! @smitty34877 Good news that DH's surgery went well. Now on to rest and recovery. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List. Be well everyone.
  24. Good evening. Thanks for the Fleet Report/Daily. I try to be creative. not a mint julep person, and I watered my indoor plants yesterday. My daylilies look pitiful outside, but it's been very dry here I hear. True quote, although I've won a small jackpot once. Maybe on the meal and pass on the drink; yes to the wine if someone else is paying. I've been to Alaska, but haven't been to Valdez. Getting home was fun, NOT. We were to leave Germany 40 minutes late, but after we taxied out, we just sat there. Apparently the brakes were too hot, and had to cool off. So we left about 2 hours after our scheduled time, then spent about 7 hours in ATL airport. We finally got to PIT about midnight, but then they couldn't get the jetway attached, so we sat another 15 minutes. Home by about 1:30AM yesterday. I'm still battling remnants of the respiratory thing. I did get knee x-rays today, which showed bad arthritis, but no kneecap fracture. So it's likely hematomas causing all the pain. Steps are still hard. The lawn and shrubs are out of control; I'll try to start doing a little yard work, bolstered by ibuprofen tomorrow. But early in the day, as it's 80F+ these days. I will have to go back and catch up on all the past goings on here. @richwmn Thanks as always for the FR/Daily. @superoma Great job on the lists, especially during this difficult time for you. @grapau27 Thanks for the explanations of the days. @ocean sounds Very sad about the boating accident and the missing teen. Prayer for the family. @kazu Awful about the fires. Ivan looks so content. Happy Birthday! @Cat in my lap Sorry about the challenges that awaited you when you got home. @cruising sister Welcome back! It sounds like you had a great time. @cat shepard Belated Happy Birthday! @smitty34877 Prayers for DH's surgery tomorrow, and his medical team. @dfish I'm glad you're feeling better. I broke down and turned on the upstairs AC, after a sweaty night last night, despite the ceiling fan. I did all the paint swatches about a year and a half ago, when I painted my house; sometimes it's hard to tell just which shade you want. @Nickelpenny Safe travels! @ger_77 I hope DH's cardiology appointment went well and they could make him feel better. @marshhawk I was sorry to hear about your positive test. Thanks for the Valdez photos. @Denise T Glacier Bay should have been gorgeous to see. I'll have to catch up on your live posts. @Horizon chaser 1957 Belated Happy Anniversary! @StLouisCruisers I'm glad you made it home safely. Prayers for the Care List and Cheers for the Celebration List. Be well everyone.
