If protesters have damaged the railroad tracks as significantly as has been reported, how are these tours going to get to Machu Picchu? We aren't scheduled to do our Flora cruise/MP extension until 10/2023.

Wish Princess had the money, manpower or resources to have painted that hull during the shutdown. That makes Princess look bad IMHO but we will enjoy the cruise regardless. Looks like today would have been the first day to have spent time in The Sanctuary? Cruising on the 8th our first 2 days are at sea but past experience out of Galveston in the winter tells me that I probably wouldn't want to be in the sanctuary lol. I hate cold/cool weather!

Like is said, I may live to regret it but I've promised my husband I won't complain if we hate it due to noise or smoke from the crew smoking area aft starboard on Deck 7. 🤣

I have broken one of my own rules for our upcoming 1/8 Ruby cruise by booking E731 last mini suite with the extended balcony based on many many other cruisers comments that the noise from Club Fusion can't be heard on the Starboard side. I always book balcony on Caribe and in general only cabins between cabin decks. So, I'm keeping my hopes up that will be the case as we aren't late nighters! I'll report when we return on 1/15.

I think a lot of Texans are trying Princess for the first time because they haven't been a fixture in Galveston like RCCL and Carnival.

Isn't that the truth! You shouldn't be allowed to book the cabin/location you want just because Princess put a sofa in it to accommodate a 3rd passenger? Ridiculous

Thank you for your experience. We will be on the Ruby and I believe it will have a connecting door but a previous cruiser said they had no issue with noise. I'm hoping for the best concerning smoking on the Promenade! I will report back for others who might be wondering when we return after our 1/8 cruise out of Galveston.

I wanted to go to the page that allows choosing a boarding group and it's inside the OceanReady section of the app. I will keep trying as maybe tomorrow it will decide to cooperate.

Forgive me if this has been asked too many times already but I stopped scrolling after 4 or 5 pages back. This is our first Medallion cruise with Princess but we are Platinum. My app shows Green Lane and the "Go to OceanReady" blue box below, but for 2 days now it won't do anything when I try to press the icon. I've deleted the app and reinstalled & it's updated, so I'm not sure what else to try. Does this happen frequently? So far, I'm not a big fan of this app way of cruising but as the young people always say, things change. 🙄

Yes, many times over the last couple of weeks. Mainly when I try to choose the Suite cabin.

Thanks Pirate, I've always had the same rules for cabin selection. I was willing to give E731 a try since it had such glowing reviews but I've realized that all of those were pre Covid and the change of the crew smoking area to the entire aft Promenade deck wasn't a issue years ago. I have decided to go back to a Caribe balcony and not risk it. I also had not realized that it was a connecting cabin with E729 which I normally avoid. 😞

I booked Ruby #731 based on so many glowing reviews and cruisers saying that if it's ever available, grab it quickly. I have realized that all of those posts were pre Covid and things have greatly changed, not just for the last couple of mini suites on Emerald deck but indeed for all of the aft cabins. There are very few cabins left for our Jan. Ruby Princess sailing but I'm inclined to switch back to my normal Caribe balcony and forego the mini suite with that awesome balcony. Do those of you who have experienced this recently wish that you had been sailing in a different cabin? I have to make the decision today. 🤔

I have booked & paid for E731 for our January 2023 cruise from Galveston. I tried to research before choosing that mini suite & never read anything about the smoking just below in the Promenade deck just outside the Club Fusion doors. Last night, a woman on the Ruby now posted on FB that the smoke from below was bad and hasn’t allowed them to enjoy the balcony or open the door for fresh air. I can change & go back to a Caribe balcony cabin today but want to ask if others have had issues with this. I’ll be disappointed to change but I would be mad at myself if I didn’t change and we couldn’t use the great balcony for E731.

Looks like I'll just have to make the decision on my own 🤣

Trying to make a parking reservation for the 1/8/23 cruise onboard Ruby Princess but can't find info if it will use Terminal 1 or 2. The Ruby and a Carnival ship are the two that are in Galveston that day. Just wondering if those who have used the Express lot closest to Terminal 2 still think it's the best lot if the ship docks at Terminal 1. Covered vs uncovered is not the number one priority.
