Thank you. Most of the pharmacies are now just big chains like, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS. I miss the days of a local family owned pharmacy where you knew your pharmacist by their first name. There was more care. When I was at CVS and their computer system went down and the head pharmacist was closing the blinds and I expressed concern to get my meds as I was having surgery tomorrow, he replied "I don't care".

Our  local pharmacy's is a small independent one. He is great and knows Gary personally as he goes there a lot for his various drugs.  He is always very busy. We had our flu jab there this year, I had popped in for something and he asked if I had had it and did it there and then.

Thinking of you today. I hope your knee op goes well and heals quickly and as pain-free as possible

Yesterday I had the Senior Flu Shot and had the worst reaction that I ever had to one.I had severe pain ,so much so that I was praying to leave the planet. My BP increased from my normal reading of 127 to 171.

I also fell twice .The first time I tried to break my fall and hit a wall with my right wrist. The second one was me hitting the floor from my bed.

I am feeling better now and have a doctor apt.tomorrow.

Sorry to hear you had a bad reactionto the flu jab Lenny and your daughter has had serious health issues. I hope its all settled down now and she gets good treatment for her condition soon

Lucky you don’t have to fly Sydney to London….,😀

Have QF started non stop from SYD to LHR now?

Hubby and I were talking about it yesterday and said that I heard they were adding to the non stop PER LHR but didn't know if it had started.

Does your daughters visa allow her to work? Both my neice and nephew did a season in Whistler after uni

We just got off the Symphony of the Seas.  They have a D. lounge with food and coffees but no bar drinks.  We each received 4 bar drinks per day automatically on our key cards which could be used at any bar or in the dining rooms except the robotic bar.  Much easier and more pleasant.

When I was on Symphony a few months ago they had waiters who took your drink order and went to the bar next door for it.

I don't think many DL/CL have a bar actually in the lounge

Maybe I’m wrong but I see those short breaks as more of a North American thing. I think the UK market is more geared towards the longer “annual holiday”.

Agree,  at a minimum people get four weeks leave plus bank holidays . Most get more, plus retired pax like long warm weather cruises. I've had some very enjoyable 12-14 day cruises from Southampton down into Western Med

They aren't shown that way on the current deck plans, so must be new. Celebrity have offered them separately for quite a while so probably just bringing them in line (and giving them an excuse to charge more money too).

But on Edge class, on Celebrity they are true balconies instead of the infinity window balcony. So people will pay extra as its the only chance of getting a traditional balcony, unless you move up to suite class.  Well I guess there's the port hole balconies too.

So, how would I find out how much "extra" it will cost?  I can easily find that out on Princess.....

You can't see the extras until after you've booked . You then have access to the cruise planner which lists drink packages, speciality dinning costs, excursions, spas etc

The costs vary from cruise to cruise and they have 'sales' with percentage off regularly. Price depends on how good their sales are going for that cruise, dynamic pricing......

I'm in the UK and drink packages can be £66 pppd, dinning can be as much as £60 for the steak restaurant or £195 for five night package. But it varies

A Google search should give you an idea of costs on board if you pay as you go for drinks.

Tea, coffee, iced water etc are included in the cruise price

I had no idea you could do this if not related to the status holder. In other words, it would make sense if your partner and even child was awarded the status due to relation, but non-related couples? Well that's just poor form from RCI.

I think you are meant to have the same address, but who's going to check?

As someone who's earned every point, one night one point, maybe two cruises a year, I agree its not fair.  Especially since we're now being kicked out of the CL/DL during HH because of overcrowding .

Seems like loyalty is one sided to me

  9. We did it a few times pre covid and pre Diamond as we don't drink enough to justify the DP.

It was a good deal if you drink mainly the more expensive wines or cocktails, not so much if you just drink beer. It was usually offered in the last three or four days of the cruise. Seem to remember you could share the card.

I haven't seen it since the restart and probably wouldn't bother now as four Diamond drinks are enough. In the rare occasion I go over I'll just PAYG

    @HBE4

Funny you should say that ... After posting the good wishes to Greg, I've got a call from DS1, asking how are we doing (we both had missile alerts during the day...).

While replying, another alert was sound, first at my son's, so he left me to run to the shelter, and then also in our city.

For @helen haywood, DS1 just sent me a pic of their improvised shelter under their building with the sac sands...

    image.thumb.jpeg.c787cf91bf7007eb04a17776da4bd637.jpeg

    and for aussie @aussielozzie18

a pic of a missile launched towards Tel Aviv in the sky, and an Iron Dome rocket "following" it (the 2 lights)

    image.thumb.jpeg.039db10c6a020dc1826ee19565d26404.jpeg

and then -- the moment of successful interception and.... BOOM !!!

I think about you every day Dani, and pray that wise minds will come together and end the war.  I can't imagine what you are going through. It's such a nightmare

Hello friends! I’m back and finally settled in to spend more time here. Unfortunately I don’t think I can go back and read everything I’ve missed as I’m getting ready for knee replacement on Friday. If I’ve missed birthdays, special occasions, sickness, problems or accomplishments I’m sorry. Know that I care about all of you.

I want to thank all of you that took time to follow and post on my live review thread. I broke a new record for me with over 67,400 views and over 1.100 posts. I am humbled by your support and hope I can do better in the future.

I will try and keep up after my surgery but as you know being drugged up with painkillers I will be doing a lot of sleeping. Or maybe not as I am being prescribed a portable connect pedal bike that sends data back to my surgeon. Medicare covers it and it will be delivered today. I am supposed to use at least 3-5 times a day for 10-20 minutes. Combine that with physical therapy 2-3 times a week I will be pretty busy. At least I should be ready for Beyond in April.

    Cheer.

You did sn excellent job on your blog  funny, informative and interesting and great videos.

Good luck with your knee surgery on Friday. I hope it goes well and you're back to fully fit soon

At 3:30 pm, poured Halloween candy into 2 large bowls, 360 pieces which is enough for 120 kids at 3 pieces a kid.  Usually get between 80-100 kids so there is plenty of surplus.

Then I swept the sidewalk & driveway, changed out all the exterior burnt-out light bulbs to ensure the outdoor is properly lit and started the creepy Halloween music. Put on my  "costume" which is a t-shirt with the phrase "Zombie Outbreak Response Team" (lame, I know) on it.

3:50 pm, probably still have hour away before the first kids arrive & I'm down to 330 pieces of candy & for some reason, my belly is feeling a little unwell. .Opps!

Those kids better get here soon! 😄

We put out our pumpkin with a battery candle inside and a bowl of sweets on the front door step as we were delivering Isaac home during prime Halloween trick or treat time.  By the time we got back all the sweets were gone.

It's not that big a deal here, though bigger than it use to be when my kids were small.

Mostly it's young children in groups with their parents around 5 to 6pm.   They only call at houses with a pumpkin outside.  Sometimes you get older kids coming around later in the evening

Will add our thanks for the Bodies recommendations, half way through, very much enjoying it.

We started watching a while ago but couldn't get into the first episode so didn't watch anymore. With all the recommendations we've given it another go and it does get better once you get to know the characters

This is the first I'm learning about this new method and it sounds absolutely HORRIBLE! So disappointed to hear this. It will really put a damper on our experience. Not just the waiting in line, but being seated with a different crew at a different table each night. What a huge step BACKWARD in customer service!!!

On Serenade in Sept we booked MTD on the planner nearest we could get to 7pm, sometimes it was 7.30 or 7.45.  We had a four top (just us though) with great waiters and asst waiters. They said we could have the same table each night. No waiting, except 3-5 min the first night .

I’ve wanted to visit Bok Tower Gardens since I moved to FL, and today I finally did! https://boktowergardens.org

For those who didn’t follow my Turkey blog, Nate and I are getting a divorce. I have moved into my own place as of this week, and my sister and I decided to get together with our dogs and walk the gardens. She lives in Orlando so it was an hour drive for her and two hour drive for me.

Sorry to hear Crystal about your personal situation 😔

Not an easy time, I'm happy you have family nearby

  16. We were going to have a extended family meet up in Virginia Water park ( part of Windsor Great Park) today for an Autumn walk, but its been cancelled due to bad storms expected. Disappointing as I haven't seen some of my neices and nephews and their families for a couple of years.

My immediate family is still coming over and I'll cook a roast dinner instead xx

We are on Serenade out of Boston on a NE/Canada cruise. They do a short fall schedule from Boston every year. We are in 9260, which is a center aft facing balcony. We typically book corners but there were none available. Love the big balconies on the aft.

We had 9660 next door a few weeks ago on Serenade

     Loved the balcony

Apologies to those who like to decorate early…. I’m not one of them …😜

    IMG_5438.jpeg

We use to wait until after my sons birthday in December before putting up decorations. Now it's usually the first week in December. We always get a real tree and after a few weeks they start dropping their needles.

I have decorations going back to when the kids were born

On a plane headed to Cincinnati, again. Third wedding in less than 2 months. Our daughter and 2 of her friends all getting married at the same time. Should be a fun wedding.

Have a wonderful time at your daughters wedding.  Great idea to have joint weddings,  spread the cost, spread the love ❤️
