Anyone in a Sky Suite thinking to go down a level?
Happy Cruiser 6143 replied to zitsky's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I will not pay the prices they are charging for PH or RS. The current prices are triple what I paid last year. Not happening. -
Happy Birthday, Jim! I've never managed to be on board on my birthday. Had two B2B Iceland/Greenland cruises booked which would have included my birthday, but they were both killed by Covid. I haven't noticed too many changes in the Luminae menu, but I'm not very attuned to that and we have been doing a lot of specialty restaurants. The service and food in Luminae has been excellent. I was greatly disappointed in The Lawn Club Grill. The steak was delicious. The rest of it was meh or absolutely horrible (lobster mac & cheese). I certainly won't be rushing back there.

Scheduled arrival time was 11:30. We arrived at the port around 10:30 because our shuttle left the hotel early and were allowed up to the Suite/Zenith lounge and checked in. We started boarding around 11.

WiFi Questions Please ( 1 VS 2 device)
Happy Cruiser 6143 replied to scubamommy!'s topic in Celebrity Cruises
In my experience, that's how it used to work. However, currently on the Silhouette, I must actually log off one device before logging on with another. PIA. -
Yes. It's past the general luggage drop area. Identified by big signs. There's no white tent like MSC Yacht Club, but there are plenty of people there to direct you up to the suite/Zenith lounge. We were the first ones on the ship yesterday. Dropped our luggage at the suite/Zenith area with the porters. Mine still hadn't come after 3:00 p.m. My cabin attendant went looking for it and brought it to me shortly after that. I think that's the latest my luggage has ever been delivered to my cabin.

I'm also on the ship. Everything has been great except luggage delivery. Still didn't have my luggage by 3:15. Described it to my excellent cabin attendant and he went off and found it shortly thereafter. That was odd as we were the first people on the ship.

I just boarded the Silhouette yesterday. Can't say I've experienced any of these issues. Service has been very attentive and all I've encountered have addressed me by name. I do stock up on water in the Retreat Lounge as I don't have a butler. We had the filet in Luminae last night and it was excellent. I have a lovely cabin attendant who has been very responsive to my few requests. So I'm a happy camper. I was a bit worried because of all the negative reviews lately.

Loved hearing the story of you and Iain! Congratuations to you both. I happened to be in San Francisco and went home the day before the Loma Prieta Quake. I had a client who had just crossed the Bay Bridge prior to the quake. The only good thing to come from that quake is that San Francisco got rid of that dreadful freeway by the bay.

celebrity summit best way to spend OBC nails?
Happy Cruiser 6143 replied to pana37's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I got a pedicure onboard once because I didn't have time to do it prior to the cruise. I wasn't impressed with the quality and it didn't last very long. Oh, and it cost twice what I pay for a much better one at home. -
Glad you were able to make your flight home.

Hi, Sue! Looks as if we're ships passing again. I will be boarding the Silhouette on Monday for her Thanksgiving cruise. Hope you make it into port. The winds have been fierce even over here in SW Florida! And it rained all day yesterday which we desperately needed. Happy Thanksgiving!

Drivers License listed on Excursions "What to bring"
Happy Cruiser 6143 replied to coisfarraige's topic in Celebrity Cruises
In many ports it is required to get back into the port. Your passport will also work if you want to carry it with you. -
I don't send anything to the laundry that hasn't been washed and dried many times at home. Anything delicate gets sent to be dry cleaned. Celebrity is not going to change its laundry procedures to accommodate you so you have to learn to work with what's available. And, yes, hand washing with their shampoo works very well.

She doesn't seem to be reading our comments as there are no responses. I hope our excursion is not canceled as I have done no research on Tobago. -

That amuse bouche was one of the best things I've ever had. And it's so simple. Who is the maître d' in Luminae? -

Food & Beverage Update from the President
Happy Cruiser 6143 replied to AnnaNicole's topic in Celebrity Cruises
I'm not going to book a ship with substandard cabins just for the food. I can get excellent food by going to local restaurants. No need to book a cruise for that. -

Yes, there was absolutely no mention of food quality in the webinar. -
Last year when I sailed in the PH and RSs on the Summit, I had an excellent shoreside concierge named Alex. She may have been shifted around.
