  1. Not trying to hijack this thread, but I do have a question about the app. If I don't bring a device (a cell phone, tablet, etc.), will be I be able to just "show up", at the dining room, as I am signed up for YTD? Or, is this going to be a problem? Thanks in advance.
  2. For me, I'd visit Greenland and Iceland for 2 reasons. 1.) You'd still get to visit 2 ports in Canada (Halifax, and St. John's). 2.) Get to see the glaciers/ icebergs in Greenland, while you still can, as they are melting.
  3. Yes, I should have said "cash flow"...thanks for pointing out, what I was really to say!
  4. In August, I booked a cruise for out of Australia in April 2023. Final payment is due in Jan. 2023. For the past 3 months, I've received emails from Carnival requesting final payment, which I've ignored. Personally, I think CCL is wanting to increase their revenues, sooner than later.
  5. That's sweet-Thank you! As part of the casino promo, I get 15 drinks/day, anywhere on the ship, but I'm a light drinker! Wish I could drink like Megan -especially the variety of adult beverages in a day!
  6. Megan-I'm Stephen from Tucson and have been following your posts. Thanks for all the pics, and info. (Are you St. Greg's sister?!). I was to be on this cruise, this Sat, so I could celebrate my birthday in P.V. Unfortunately, today I had to cancel. But, fortunately, I was able to have my cruise transfered to 1-21-23 sailing. Happy cruising!
  7. Those for pointing this out, and reminding us. I liked it when we were referred to as "baby boomers". Now many refer to us as "senior boomers"😬!!!
  8. I'm not understanding what you are saying-aren't Louisiana waters part of U.S. waters? (I'm being serious)
  9. I'm in the same boat (70's, and not tech savy !), but different ship-I will be on the Panorama in Dec. I don't have a cell phone and never wanted one. I'm signed for YTD. Will this be a problem, not having a cell phone? Thanks.
  10. I am looking forward to cruising on the Panorama in Dec.. My 1st cruise in about 7-8 years. I appreciate reading about all these tips. I do have a question/concern. I don't have a cell phone-will I be able to access things such as YTD, without a phone and app? Thanks in advance, and happy cruising!
  11. I think mine does, too. Maybe I should not go to the Steakhouse....but I will-at this stage in life, what's another lump or 2?!😂
  12. I admit-NOT a good look! Very wrinkley. For the folks on this cruise, if someone decides to wear their b-day suit, I can assure you, it WON'T be me!😇
  13. Since I'm booked for my birthday, can I just wear my birthday suit?!😬😉
  14. I have a cruise booked on the Panorama departing on 12-10-22. I just booked the steakhouse for my birthday on Dec. 13th, for $42, using obc.. Thanks to all for the reminders about the deadline to book before the rate increase.
  15. If you like Mayan ruins, you may consider checking out the ones in Belize that are named, starting with Xun........if you do, I'd recommend going on a Carnival excursion-it's a bit expensive, but worth every penny. .it's an all day trip, but Carnival will get you back to the dock, so you don't miss the ship!
  16. I had to read up on the Tonka beans, as I had never heard of them-it seems some brands of Mexican vanilla do indeed use them, while others do not. I guess the O.P. will need to decide for theirself.
  17. That's very interesting about the honey and the wine-I had no idea. Thanks for pointing that out. In re:to the Mexican vanilla, I'll have to disagree. I think it's probably cheaper to grow, to process, and to market the beans in Mexico, just imo.
  18. My bottle of Molina has it written right on the bottle "No Coumadin", just as an fyi. I like it, as it is 100% pure vanilla, and much more less expensive, then Trader Joe's. And Molina's vanilla is from the plant that grows in Mexico-I believe in the state of Veracruz. Other places possible, as well?
  19. Just in my opinion, you can never go wrong with "Molina"!
  20. I booked a good casino promo for the 22 day T.P. next April with a jr. suite, as it was the same price as a balcony. It looked like it was in a good location. Will hope for the best!
  21. Aot of many good exchanges of ideas, and experiences. With that being said, here is another's point of view. I enjoy cruises-both for the ship experiences, and for the ports of call experiences. I've been to many places, which I may have never been able to visit, if it weren't for the cruises.. It's like a buffet-sampling new places/ports of call. If a place sparks an interest, then , consider going back on a land vacation. I hope the O.P. let's us know of their decision.
  22. Thanks! Even though my username is urbanhawk, I really am an old fart cruiser!😂
  23. In the link jenna 9 posted, it doesn't make any sense about Slendor being canceled for Sept 26th onward. The Splendor left Seattle on Sept 6th, and due back, in Sydney on the 30th. I can be dense at times-am I missing something?
  24. Last spring I booked a fantastic casino offer-it was for the 23 day t.p. from Seattle to Sydney on Spendor. I got a free balcony ($200.00 n.f. deposit that would be $200.00 of obc), $2000.00 in fun play, and free drinks everywhere on board.A few weeks before this "once in a lifetime cruise" I had to cancel-this was just last month. Well, lo and behold, I received a couple more offers. I booked a 22 day t.p. cruise for next April from Brisbane to Seattle. I got a free suite, with good perks, and itinerary! (Last cruise was 7-8 years ago.)
  25. I took my 1st cruise in 2007, and I was 57. I had taken my mom, for an early birthday gift-she would turn 84 a few months later-she also got her 1st passport for the cruise! Happy cruising!
