  1. Do you have all your excursions settled now? Don’t forget to report back and let us know how it goes to help other people.
  2. Punta Morena, El Pescador, Chen Rio, Palencar, Sky Reef, Money Bar, Jeannie’s, No Name Bar, La monina, Hemingway’s, Buccanos, Play Azul. No guarantees on quiet and un crowded- will depend on the day and time of day. All have websites, some have cover charge. Lots more ocean front restaurants but they don’t have loungers.
  3. I think if you pay with credit card service charge is added automatically at least that used to be the case, not sure how, or when, you pay the balance with AI.
  4. Do they still add on a surcharge to pay by credit card, or is it an automatic gratuity? If you pay in advance, is it charged in the US, without foreign transaction fees, or is it only a deposit paid in advance?
  5. Thanks. I thought it was discussed at Q&A but realized this was off topic for this thread so deleted. The construction has been mentioned elsewhere and since the sailing bought the port out i thought it might have come up as to what they were doing there
  6. She says the bottom picture is the diaper zone.
  7. They would save the port surcharge by doing that.
  8. From google https://www.momsatsea.com/moms-at-sea-blog/2022/2/10/wonder-of-the-seas-splashaway-bay
  9. From the website: Q Are children in diapers allowed in the onboard pools? A Due to public health regulations, children that are in diapers or not 100% toilet trained may only use Baby Splash facilities on board. These are only available on the following ships: Adventure, Allure, Anthem, Freedom, Harmony, Independence, Liberty, Oasis, Ovation, Odyssey, Quantum, Spectrum, Symphony and Wonder.
  10. You would pay port surcharge if you were picked up from within the port. We don’t do lyft or uber but aren’t these charges listed on the app and extra for popular times?
  11. I understand. I only glanced quickly at itinerary and I didn’t realize they weren’t in fact stopping in Kauai. I didn’t realize the whole cruise was in fact dependent on one cruise stop. I agree it is a shame another Hawaiian island couldn’t be substituted but I am sure there are a lot of logistics involved and NCL may be taking the slots at other ports.
  12. Oh I am sorry, you don’t stop at Kauai? I didn’t realize you were just cruising the coast all day. I have only done Hawaii on NCL and we stopped and cruised the coast. My apologies but I did say i was surprised you weren’t offered the chance to cancel
  13. For prices and some suggestions website https://www.toursplaza.com If you already know where you want to go you can get a taxi at the port for a few hours, for less but a private company will guide you. Unfortunately no given standard on port times but generally, with RCI schedule is ship time. That said we have had the Captain change ship time to match local on one week of a two week B2B, so no guarantees. I would work on 11am being EDT but take care. Beach clubs usually open 9-5 local time. Nachi is not generally busy, or loud, although we have been unfortunate enough to have a group near us once that insisted on playing personal music via Bluetooth speakers for all to share. This is a personal pet peeve of mine and I was surprised the management didn’t ask them to tone it down, while supplying multiple shots to them. Loungers further away from pool and dining area are generally quieter but further to walk to get your own drink and less attentive bar service. Another word of advice, order desert with your main course even if you don’t want them together - they ran out when we tried to order later. Buccanos is another favorite of ours but beach is small and not as sandy as Nachi, therefore better for snorkeling and very good food and drink. Not open on Mondays.
  14. The itinerary is not that different from the original. They could have just changed to sea days. Obviously the OP isn’t happy with the substitution, but some people may not have been to Victoria or Seattle and may welcome the chance to go somewhere instead of more sea days. You can always stay on board.
  15. So the original itinerary was overnight in Maui but they have substituted two mainland port stops? Whilst disappointing you are actually only missing one port, which happens quite often and usually only announced once on board when you have no alternative but to stay. It is a well-known fact when cruising, that you may/may not get your intended itinerary and if a particular stop is important to you you should choose another form of travel. I understand your disappointment and frustration and am surprised you don’t have the option to cancel or get a future cruise credit, but you are starting and finishing at the designated locations, which hasn’t been the case with many sailings recently including one that I booked.
  16. Just joking with you! I know you enjoy Nachi. We do too, just not every time. I agree it sounds like a good fit for them, since they aren’t traveling with family although coming from New Zealand, Cozumel could be a one and done, and they may like to tour - depends if they want an active or relaxing day.
  17. LOL, quite the sales pitch @bguppies! Just as well you haven’t encountered sargassum there like us, or you might have to start looking for somewhere else! Doubt they will be a late arrival with late opening - as I said, if they are sailing from Florida it will probably only be 10am local time but that will depend on the captain - important thing will be to keep a watch on SHIP time and not rely on phone. I haven’t been to the website in a while, interesting they have maintained Sunday opening - good to know for land vacations, or those few lucky cruise ships that dock on Sundays!
  18. I have done multiple TA’s in both directions on various itineraries. If you want to “see” Europe you don’t travel by cruise ship.
  19. I thought i read it was Feb or April according to the deployment thread?
  20. Yes i have done Southampton to FLL and love the stops in Caribbean on Indy.
  21. Keep in mind there are three ports in Cozumel so not everyone is getting on and off at the same place. You will probably be at International south of town. sounds like pre-booking at Nachi Cocom might work for you or pre- booing a private driver for the day (we use ToursPlaza) might be a good way to see a bit more, and customize a mix and match day. The popular family beach clubs with activities will be busy but Cozumel is well equipped for dealing with a large influx of day guests - plenty of other activities and plenty of taxis available. The beach clubs will close at 5 and probably stop food around 4. Also not sure where you are sailing from? Cozumel is on EST year round so if you are sailing from Florida (?) there may be a difference between ship time and local time in April.
  22. Always best to read the terms and conditions of your actual policy, which vary depending on options, and choose one appropriate to your needs. Yes, there are limitations on length of trip and total cancellation reimbursement cap per year. You need to factor in if you have multiple trips booked in suites, which are all paid in full or several inside cabins spread out so full payment hasn’t been made. Of course air, hotels etc will add to your costs. Also whether you have pre-existing conditions that would prevent or cause a problem if you had to insure them separately at a later date.
  23. SIXTY minutes is ample time if everything goes according to plan. Some people do get confused exiting the port if it is their first time. There are crowds getting off the ship with multiple shops in port and they will need to monitor their kids carefully walking the length of the pier There can be delays if another ship is tying up at the same time, sometimes after debarkation has started it can be temporarily halted. These are things for the OP to be aware of but no need to be unduly concerned about under normal circumstances. They have a contact number if something happens.
