  1. Is t this a cruiseline only excursion or do you have an independent operator? here is some info https://roatan.online/big-french-key
  2. Thank. I knew there were some changes in March but we have been unable to sail this year.
  3. Is this standard now in addition to your vouchers? We have only had it when the coffee machine in lounge is broken. I thought you could always use your vouchers for specialty coffees.
  4. Glad to hear transport worked out but sorry about your problems organizing your group. I know you had a lot of problems leading up to the cruise and don’t envy you having to organize that many. Fortunately I have only had a maximum of 6 at a time and even that is difficult enough at times. Sometimes it is just best to let everyone do their own thing and meet up for dinner! I agree July in the Caribbean can be brutal, we cut short our last trip to the east side in July because of the heat - it is so draining, but disappointing when you are only visiting somewhere for a short time. I think I probably warned you about cell service and cash during your planning and it sounds like you tried to advise your group but some people don’t/wont listen, but it is worth pointing this out and emphasizing to @beshears so thanks for the reminder.
  5. https://www.royalcaribbean.com/plan-a-cruise/transportation#travelProtection 1 Royal Caribbean Travel Protection is an optional travel protection add-on to your cruise booking and is available through Royal Caribbean for residents in all states except New York. New York state residents who wish to purchase the product may visit https://travelcruisecare.com to enroll directly with Aon Affinity. If added, your Royal Caribbean Travel Protection plan is not effective until the plan cost has been paid. Plan cost is not automatically included as part of your initial cruise deposit.
  6. I am not sure if @MississippiMom ever reported back on her experience. I believe Black Hat is contacted via FB but didn’t used to publish rates. I don’t use FB so I don’t know if that has changed. We have used ToursPlaza for 15+ years. They have a website with prices and suggestions. Private drivers need to be booked in advance to get permission from union and will meet you inside the port but you may need to exit port gates to get in van. They can probably get permission to pick up in cases of mobility difficulties. If you know exactly where you want to go you can negotiate for a driver from the taxi stand at the port or their are other taxi drivers recommended on TripAdvisor but i believe all have similar pricing.
  7. it certainly isn’t an easy climb and there is a small hole to go through to get out at the top. Here is a good description of the area. - this person went by a jeep tour but we opt for our private driver. https://lifewithoutaroadmap.com/punta-sur-eco-park-the-best-one-day-adventure-in-cozumel/
  8. So long as you get it to wait to take you back. Very poor cell phone reception there and you won’t get waiting taxis. Best to hire a driver at the port for a few hours and take a ride round the island or book a private driver in advance.
  9. There is a lighthouse to look at and photo at the beginning of the malecon next to the Mahahual photo sign.
  10. Yes, at Punta Sur but you will need transport that stays with you.
  11. I didn’t think you could buy through the cruise line for New York? Has that changed?
  12. So it was escargot and not scallops as per chef’s recommendation? Or did you get a special request? I have missed not having scallops on recent sailings. I hope they are back.
  13. Don’t know if this photo is still what they serve. A more recent post suggests Nestle vitality water with artificial sweetener.
  14. I agree. We did 30+ nights on Adventure last year and I think we maybe did 30 minutes in the Schooner Bar. It has been our favorite on other ships.
  15. LOL, it was a joke! Pool bar wouldn’t be my choice for pre-dinner drinks unless you are watching a film on big screen. You have had recommendations for every bar on the ship so as I said it comes down to what entertainment you want in the background. Probably best to try them all and reach your own conclusion. Depending on your dinner time some bars will be on a break from musicians anyway.
  16. Seems like we have covered everywhere except the pool bars! Basically comes down to your preference in entertainment.
  17. Schooner bar gets busy because it is the venue for events like trivia and later a piano man. It depends what time your dinner is. Boleros tends to have live music sessions. Champagne bar doesn’t hold events and is just conversation.
  18. It isn’t that it isn’t covered (and that in itself depends on the policy) you cannot BUY insurance to cover a hurricane once it has has been named. Just like you can’t insure against an illness after the fact.
  19. Sounds like they are making a more determined effort to ascertain how you want them in advance to alleviate the need to re-do them. It always did seem like unnecessary extra work and now steward time is reduced it makes sense to try and get it right. we can only hope….
  20. As @Ourusualbeach posted you can call and request or have it on your profile through your TA but 9/10 it makes no difference and they make up the beds anyway and then change it on request before bedtime. Not sure how well that is working since they have gone to once a day cabin service. My daughter never saw her cabin steward until day 3 recently so I guess you may need to call housekeeping if that happens.
  21. The first choice may well be booked. That is the disadvantage of the discounted dining package.
