  1. @bundtkate You don’t need to join AARP to purchase gift cards. Just sign up for the free rewards program.
  2. Thank you for the HAL fleet report and all the daily information. Prayers for everyone who needs them. Cheers for all the celebrations. Thank you all for caring and sharing. Stay safe and healthy everyone.
  3. You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. 🙏
  4. Extra prayers for Murphy, her parents and family, and Murphy’s medical team. 🙏🙏🙏 Prayers for quick and complete healing. 🙏🙏🙏
  5. Whew, work was busy/hectic. We had 2 new employees start today and of course the internet went down when I went to process their ID cards. Then I had to change my password (not sure why, it’s only been 60 days and I have to change it every 90 days 🤷🏻‍♀️) which involves going to another computer, logging in to another website, asking for a password change, waiting for an email with a temporary password, then actually changing it. Checking/verifying IDs, having them sign lots of paperwork, finally processing their work ID cards, getting them temporary passwords so they could use the computer (the supervisor didn’t do that before he went on leave 😠), and finalizing my portion of the background check. But it’s good to get more people, we sure do need them. It is HOT here, 103°F today and triple digits through Wed. 🥵 And now it’s my sis’ turn for a tropical storm. She lives in Northeast Florida and Tropical Storm Idalia 🌀 is headed her way. But she’s mostly prepared even buying a generator a few years ago. Thank you all for caring and sharing. Prayers for everyone who needs them. Cheers for all the celebrations. Stay safe and healthy everyone.
  6. Just a quick “hello” and I’m off to work. Be back later to read the most wonderful thread on CC. 😉
  7. Sounds like sleep eluded a lot of Dailyites last night. 😟 I’m back and feel good. Got a few hours sleep, took a shower, got coffee, and watched church online. It’s supposed to be over 100°F today so I’m not planning on going anywhere. Thank you all for caring and sharing. Prayers for everyone who needs them. Cheers for all the celebrations. Stay safe and healthy everyone.

  9. I had a hard time sleeping last night/this morning, so will try to get some sleep now. Good night. 😴
  10. Good morning. This is a rare weekend with nothing on my calendar except church and maybe getting a couple of bundtlets 😋 (individual-sized bundt cake from Nothing Bundt Cakes). We are in an excessive heat watch with temps in the triple digits through Tuesday. 🥵 Excellent news! 👏 You started wearing hats early. 😉 Thanks for the HAL fleet report and all the daily information. Prayers 🙏 for the Care List and Cheers 🎉 for the Celebration List. Thank you all for caring and sharing. Stay safe and healthy everyone.
  11. You did a great job, thanks! 👍 A coworker had this surgery after months of PT. Hope you get range of motion soon and your surgery can be scheduled. 🙏 Prayers 🙏 for a quick recovery and I hope he's home soon. Oh my! Prayers going out to your friends and family. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
  12. I had to be at work this morning at 5:30am to let in the IT guy. The upgrade went fine except for one program. It was fixed in a few hours. One of the”opener” responsibilities is to check the building for overnight leaks, and with yesterday’s storm and the roof being redone I was expecting a lot. Luckily I was wrong. There were a few minor leaks and a few boxes got wet, but nothing major. Whew! Our TV channels are back! The wiring must have just got wet. We can watch our favorite shows tonight! 😄
  13. Just checking in. We’re safe and dry in the house. The rain stopped for a couple hours this morning, and then it was heavy for a while. And Ojai (north of Los Angeles) had a 5.1 earthquake. Now it has quieted down to a light rain. I think the wind/rain did something to our TV antenna (yes I'm cheap, we don't have cable). We lost a lot of channels (used to get over 100? 200?). I still have TV, just missing most of the major networks and 2 of our favorite stations. Not sure when DH will be able to go on the roof to check. @Nickelpenny Penny, my brother sent this this morning. Maybe it will help?
  14. It’s lightly raining, not sure when it started. And a light breeze. Enjoy your spa retreat! 🙂 At least you know it works. 😉
  15. Lunch was very good and so was the “catching up” conversation. My appt went very well and got to church early. DMiL decided with the anticipated rain she should stay home. Pizza was yummy (as usual). So far no rain, but it has been overcast/cloudy. My sis from FL keeps calling, checking on our preparations. She’s watching the weather reports. I’m sure she’ll know it’s raining before I do. Good night everyone.
  16. Good Morning. We are in a tropical storm warning, the first ever for SoCal. This is because of (Cat 4 Hurricane) Hilary. A flood watch is also in effect through Monday. Rain is expected all day Sunday. And of course the roof at work is being redone. 😨 @TiogaCruiser and @GTVCRUISER (and other SoCal Dailyites) are you ready for this storm? On the calendar today is sushi with a GF I haven’t seen in a few months. Then a personal appointment, and hopefully church. Pizza is for dinner. Hopefully I’ll be here me before the storm hits. I told my DMiL I’d take her to her Catholic Church on Sunday but she gets back today from a few days at her daughters house and might be tired. Or it might be too rainy. I go in to the office on Monday 45 min early (at 5:30am) to let the IT guy check on upgrade issues (not related to the storm). And we’ll be checking the building for leaks. I predict next week will be hectic. Thank you for the HAL fleet report and all the daily information. Prayers for everyone who needs them. Cheers for all the celebrations. Stay safe and healthy everyone. Hurricane track (this was yesterday’s forecast): Potential flooding:
  17. I’m not understanding the ferry part. Why not take a taxi/Uber/Lyft the entire way? It only takes about 30 min. Breakfast sounds nice. I haven’t been to the Hotel Del Coronado in years.
