Your opinion: I am flying non-stop LAX-MIA the day before embarkation. Flight is on a Saturday in December. I think I’m the first flight out at 6am. (The hardest thing will be telling DH I need to be at the airport by 4am. 😳) I think I’ll be OK especially since it’s non-stop, but I still have time to change plans. What do y’all think?

I’ve used my TA for years and have always got my shareholder OBC.

I may have some HAL stationery. 😉 I also remember the Dutch hats, white for women and blue (different shape) for men. But I was never lucky to have mine painted/decorated.

Unfortunately it happens almost very year. It’s frustrating. 😡 So much work/time goes into preparing for a shutdown. Not to mention the anxiety about not getting paid on paydays (we eventually get back pay). We may get to do this again in 45 days if they don’t pass a budget. 🙄 Congress should have their paychecks stopped if the budget isn’t passed. Then let’s see if this ever happens. (Sorry if this is too political. I understand if this post gets deleted.)

Good morning. Work was busy yesterday getting ready for the potential (probably gonna happen) shutdown. 😳😡 Then a nail appt and babysitting the grands. I tried reading when I could but I just got done reading yesterday’s Fleet Report and Daily. Today’s agenda is much quieter. Just a phone call with sis to discuss our Dec cruise, and I volunteer at church again this weekend. Thank you for the HAL fleet report and all the daily information. Thank you all for caring and sharing. Prayers 🙏 for everyone who needs them. Cheers 🎉 for all the celebrations. Now back to the top. 😉

Always keep your phone in airplane mode while on the ship or you’ll come home to a large $$ phone bill. Turn on WiFi to access the ship’s (free) inTRAnet to use the Navigator app. To use inTERnet you must log in to the WiFi pkg. If you only have minutes (not an unlimited pkg) you must log out or your minutes will be eaten up quickly. As mentioned only one device at a time per package. I had no problems switching between my iphone and iPad. And I did it frequently. 😉 BTW if you have iPhones you can use iMessenger. It works iPhone to iPhone, both on the ship and to folks on land. Text only, no pictures. (You need the inTRAnet for this.)

Made it home just now. We stopped at Peggy Sue’s Diner for breakfast. We both had “The Blob.” 😋 I bought a slice of coconut cream pie for my DMiL (GF bought one for her DH). And I bought my lotto tix. 🤞 I’m going to work for a few hours to save my vacation days. Then see what I need to buy at the grocery store. This weekend is volunteering at church (PowerPoint/media). Then maybe one week of work if the government shuts down. We’ll see. 🙄

Good morning, thank you for the HAL fleet report and all the daily information. I’m up and packing. Getting ready to leave Las Vegas. 🙁 We had a really good time seeing friends, playing bingo (would have been more fun to win), eating at our favorite places, shopping, and just being with my GF. On Wed afternoon we were caught in the sudden downpour. ⛈️ I’ve heard about the floods in Vegas but this is the first time to experience it myself. We got drenched running to the car from the restaurant during a lull (rain had slowed down but didn’t stop), puddles were everywhere (1”-2”+), water reaching the curbs on the street, intersections were scary but people were behaving. What usually takes 15 min took over 40 min get back to the hotel. We were drenched but luckily neither of us melted 😜 and the storm passed relatively quickly. Prayers 🙏 for everyone who needs them.
