  1. I would be upset, too, but like the last poster said, maybe the grass isn't greener and you should give Celebrity another shot. I have some experience to know how loud that sound can get. During our sailing to Wellington aboard Solstice, we had some pretty fierce cross winds that evening and it caused a very loud and steady shrieking noise coming from the balcony door. The passengers next door could hear it and they knocked on our door to find out what was happening. I was guessing that the balcony door wasn't seated properly so I opened it and slid it shut again but that didn't seem to work (I think it made it even worse). I called Guest Relations and they said that they would send a mechanic up to our cabin. The mechanic did not arrive until a little over an hour later--I think he said that there were some other cabins that were having the same problem. By then the winds had died down and with it the awful noise. Fortunately this all happened before bed time. If your balcony door noise was as bad as ours, I cannot imagine trying to sleep with that for one night let alone two.
  2. The apology is not necessary. You were trying to be helpful and it was a good idea to try anyway. Have you tried it on the July 11 2024 Equinox booking?
  3. Yes, I also wish to re-iterate my thanks--especially to DaKahuna, Fly and Sail, and cruisestitch. We are doing this same cruise next year (14 night Summit) and the information conveyed was helpful.
  4. Well it's worth a try. TA or CVP? I thought you book using the latter.
  5. Hopefully there's a "free" cruise buried in there with those losses.
  6. I would love to tell you that I am just a smart person--but I am not smart enough to figure out a good answer to your problem! Sometimes I will look at a person's posting history to see if they are on a roll call which is a very reliable clue but I didn't bother this time because it sounded like you hadn't booked the cruise yet. I did my search for Equinox and and picked July simply because it is in the middle of the summer season. My father's birthday is July 11, so my eyes latched onto that date when I scanned the list of cruises. BTW, it does look like a very nice itinerary. If you have not been there before, I hope you invest some pre and post cruise time at Barcelona and Rome.
  7. We visited Aix-en-Provence last fall which was nice during our port stop at Toulon. It is also inland a few miles, I mean kilometers, from Marseille.
  8. I just tried this work around and it doesn't work for me. Example: Jul 11 2024 9 night Equinox. Cabins 6218 and 9270 cannot be booked with two passengers, but it works if you specify three using the traditional method. When I try the LOOKUP STATEROOM link, it still doesn't work if two passengers are specified, but does for three. Am I missing something? Anyone else try it?
  9. The work around is booking a fake third that you cancel later. This won’t work for non-refundable deposit bookings though unless you don’t mind eating lost money. Eventually, Celebrity removes this restriction so the other alternative is to wait. It could be a while. I don’t think anyone can get around this problem so it’s not like you can call Celebrity to make this booking with two passengers.
  10. I just verified my theory. The cabins are being blocked because they are being reserved for triple and quad bookings. I ran into this problem with my most recent booking for a Christmas cruise.
  11. I believe they are blocked off because those cabins can handle three passengers and the OP is searching for two passengers. This can be verified by changing the search from two passengers to three.
  12. Except @Fly and Sail is a slot machine whisperer/charmer and appears to be the exception that proves the rule.
  13. I guess the Afternoon Tea Event for Captains Club Elite or higher is gone? I thought it was a temporary COVID casualty (like the Cruise Critic Connection gatherings) and would be brought back, but I don't see it listed in the CC benefits brochure.....
  14. and not give much of it back....
  15. The whole Revolution update has been put on indefinite hold until Celebrity's finances and debt load become healthier.
  16. Maybe Cruise Critic should market towel clips with a 30 minute beeping ("remove me!") alarm built into it.
  17. Good to read and thanks for posting. We will be on her next year for a canal cruise.
  18. You make a good point, @MamaFej. Maybe Celebrity would say that the clips are used for people that follow the 30 min rule--kinda like those gambling ads that have the "Have a Gambling Problem?" PSA mentioned at the end. Of course, it would be even worse if the towel clips had the Cruise Critic logo on it!
  19. To give you some idea as to the answer, here was the deployment schedule published by Celebrity on Nov 2 2022. The actual deployment dates for Europe were a week later than published because of a problem. I believe the TA sailings were released with Europe. Here is a thread that followed the cruise sailings as they were being released: link
  20. I didn't know for sure, but I would guess that the single supplement charge is dropped and the second passenger is added at the prevailing cruise fare rate.
  21. Another fine example of the Hang Up and Call Again (HUCA) strategy when you are not getting what you want from a customer service rep. BTW, my understanding is that when you add a 3rd to an existing booking it does not trigger a repricing of 1st/2nd passenger fare. The 3rd person does get the prevailing rate. I have not had any personal experience with it, but that is my understanding.
  22. That is good to hear. This workaround was introduced to me by NorthStarStateCruiser (via the link from my earlier post). Before COVID hit, you could download a price brochure for any sailing from Celebrity's website. Here is the link, but I think you will find that it is not operational: https://www.celebritycruises.com/excursion-brochure/celebrity/
  23. NSSC: As you know it is difficult to see shore excursions for sailings that you are not booked on--I think that is the problem. You need to mention your work around hack: @YWW, follow the hack in the above embedded post. For example here is a link to the Nov 16 2023 Solstice shore excursions. Just make sure you have not logged into the Celebrity website before clicking on the link below. If you have logged in, then log out and then click on the link below. https://www.celebritycruises.com/account/cruise-planner/category/shorex?bookingId=0000000&shipCode=SL&sailDate=20231116
