  1. Yes, it is reinstated immediately. You might have to re-fresh your web browser in order to see it. It takes about 10 min for the cancelled spots to become available for booking--something to keep in mind if you are going to cancel/rebook a shorex that is sold out. Good luck!
  2. Welcome to Cruise Critic. I just wanted to re-iterate what was posted earlier. I definitely recommend that you book your shorex now under the sale. This sale is particularly good and they seem to occur around the major holidays. I would anticipate that the next one will be during Thanksgiving thru Cyber Monday. There is no penalty for cancelling a shorex should you change your mind (there is a deadline of something like 1-2 days before the shorex occurs) and you can easily cancel/rebook if you find a more attractive price later (such as the Thanksgiving sale). If you wait until later, you run the small risk of a popular shorex selling out and becoming full.
  3. that's funny. You have to wonder if Celebrity's payroll system is a mess.
  4. Premium 2 device plan allows you both to be online with your own device at the same time. The only thing you share is the same login account.
  5. OBC can be used to purchase purchase all items in your cruise planner including shorex, dining package, drink packages, wi-fi package, spa, etc. As far as your other question is concerned about the mysterious increase in your account's OBC, I have not had this happen to me nor have I heard of this. You may want to talk to your TA to make sure the total is correct before you spend your windfall.
  6. Instantaneous--just refreshing your web browser screen will do it. However if you are cancelling a booking that was sold out, it will take 10 minutes or so for the cancelled spots to open up so that you can re-book.
  7. Another reason that port taxes and fees can be different between Celebrity and another cruise line for the same port is that Celebrity's fees also include gratuities.....
  8. I don't know if Celebrity was ever technically a premium brand but they certainly were much much better in the past.
  9. I can certainly see the logic for leaving things alone in that case. I hope you enjoy your time at Cancun.
  10. This Labor Day sale has cheaper pricing than many of the shore excursions that I bought from the Memorial Day sale. So I am cancelling and repurchasing. My online order history looks very complicated because of my repricing activity from the two sales.
  11. You are correct of course. We have three sailings booked of which only one is having the Flash Sale. Our 17 night Trans-Pacific sailing (Apr 2025) was unaffected.
  12. Not all sailings are affected by the Flash Sale.
  13. So I have to take it back--it isn't a trap. I went ahead and rebooked 3 specialty dining reservations and one shorex which saved me $140 for our upcoming Singapore to Hong Kong holiday cruise. Thank you.
  14. No transfers or hotels are included when you buy your flights thru FBC.
  15. Here is another recent thread about FBC service: link
  16. Pros You don't have to pay for your tickets until final payment for your cruise. If you cancel the cruise before making final payment, you owe nothing on the air. Some people feel a sense of security thinking that FBC has an obligation to make sure you get to the ship if things go wrong (e.g. your flight just got cancelled). I am not among those people. Here is a positive testimony: link. Another potential pro is that sometimes FBC airfare is cheaper than if you booked the same flight yourself independently. This used to be very true when it came to booking one way long haul flights for a transatlantic cruise for example. Other times the airfare is cheaper when Celebrity is running a promotion tied to booking a cruise ("$200 off airfare", etc). Cons You have to work through Flights By Celebrity if you need to resolve a problem with airline (e.g. your flight times have changed and now you have a connection that is too tight and you want to change to a different set of flights). I have read stories where Flights By Celebrity provided great service in this area (e.g. FBC can book you on a different airline altogether if there is something wrong with your flights) and I have read many stories where they were a hinderance on something that could easily be fixed by you talking directly to the airline. Here is a very recent and heavily documented example: link Phone wait times with FBC can be very long (I waited an hour on a few occasions) although that can also be said about phone wait times when you call the airline. Personally for me, I don't like the idea of having to work thru FBC when I could otherwise call the airline myself (or do it on the airline website) to resolve a problem. However if getting air fare thru FBC represented a large savings or if I am hesitant to buy airfare for a cruise I am not 100% sure about, I would consider going the FBC route. Seats As far as choosing your seats are concerned, it depends on the airline. I know when I booked my United and Delta flights through FBC, I was able to choose my seats. I have heard airlines like Air Canada do not allow it. Here is some more information on the subject: link
  17. Roomba cabin stewards....(I am sure we would still have to tip though)
  18. Here is a 2021 brochure showing the different amenities for the different suites across the fleet. Although there are some changes that are going on right now, the brochure should give you a pretty good idea of how the Horizon Suite stacks up with the others.
  19. That's the discounted price for port days.
  20. Let's hope not! The original sailing was 14 nights and had overnights both at the start and end of the cruise (Singapore and Hong Kong). We have lengthened our pre-cruise and post cruise hotel stays to make up for it.
  21. There will be a corkage fee and/or a two bucket limit per passenger (or maybe it will be per stateroom).
